KEYSTONE PIPELINE / IS GOING TO SINK LIKE A STONE / THE NET *** WON — NEWSPAPERS *** ZERO 28/10/11

I can’t believe this project is even being given consideration. It is an environmental time bomb.  Machinery is machinery after all. But it is being considered anyway. The Keystone follows the usual formula used by corporate greedies on Wall St. [ a good example the rape of the Owens Valley water by Los Angeles ]. Going back to the late 1800s North Americans have been trying to rid themselves of  the robber barons who have the money to bribe the politicians and pay for favourable comment in the press. The baron’s name comes from a book written by Mathew Josephson who detailed the crash of 1929 which was caused by the Republicans and Wall St. He named the US businessmen who had amassed fortunes immoraly, unethically, unjustly and I might add illegally. Currently Conrad Black comes to mind. Go on the net and look up this list of early members of the right / white / rich 20 % club who picked the public pocket. I believe robber barons are born that way, happy to take as much as possible while giving nothing in return. Think big. If the majority of people in a society are all take and no give there will be no society. The all take club is made up of two segments. There are the robber barons themselves who actually have the cash and those WHO SHILL FOR THESE MONEY PEOPLE, like Conrad Black’s dad. The barons themselves hide behind the curtains and their minions do all the dirty work. If we look at the last 80 years these movers and takers have had their ups and downs. After the 29 crash the little people were without security, shelter or food  BUT THEY STILL HAD THE VOTE. FDR’s new deal took notice of the plight of the average American and new support programs were introduced. Some programs failed but most were successful. There were programs for artists,  composers, photograpers and so on. There was a program for young men to work in parks, wilderness areas, drainage systems and other public works. More than a million youngsters were involved in this productive work and besides sports activites they could attend educational classes. They did useful work rather than being out drinking. It was sort of a older version of boy scouts. When the Yanks declared War this group of intelligent, fit young men provided the bulk of the fighting forces in 42 / 43. The Republicans and Wall St. fought FDR on each and every program calling them forms of socialism. Where would the States have been without the CCC and its’ graduates. Faced with one million wasted youth instead of ready made soldiers at the change of a uniform. If the Republicans had had their way the west would have lost the War. When Hitler came to power one of his big concerns was keeping America out of the coming War. Wall St., some big businesses, most Republicans, some newspapers and the right formed an organization called the America First Committee. Charles Lindbergh became one of its’ spokesmen very early. His father was a Republican Congressman. If one digs as I have it is clear that some of the AFC money was coming from Germany. This cash was laundered, as we expect the Republicans would do. Reichmarks bought newpaper ads, paid rally expenses, travel and the personal expenses of the shills involved. Lindbergh was pro-nazi and claimed those agititating for War were  FDR, the British and the Jews. Can you imagine this so called American hero spouting such nonsense and all the while taking German money under the table. The Republicans are good at that. Just look at what Supreme Oil did for the Republicans in California, plenty of money paid outside the elections rules and now a minority of right wingers can thwart the will of the majority in the State House. California is no longer a democracy, it is ungovenable and broke. Just like Canada will be if Harper has his way. I sort of like the part about America First folk. Apparently at its’ height AFC had 800,000 small brain members, [ like the Conservative wee majority in the House in Ottawa ] who were led around by their noses by Hitler. Then Pearl Harbour happened. The whole America First organization disappeared IN TWO DAY. Their offices were closed and all of the particpants hi tailed it. No doubt they soon hid themselves within the throngs of Americans who had and would support the War effort. The right had no traction until the 1950s and Joe McCarthy. Lindbergh was disgraced as he should have been. Journoshills hired by the right tried to rewrite history and spin the Lindbergh story. My favourite is the comment from one of the whitewashers. It was that Charles was just a simple pilot who didn’t know any better. The right / white / rich 20% did make some good money during the War but it was never enough. FDR initiated strict controls on corporate profits and the Streeters had to make do with legitmate returns. They were not happy. The Glass- Steagall Act was in place and prevented the banks from using depositors money for speculation. As well banks were on short leash and had to hold reserves to cover contingencies like economic downturns. Bankers have always resisted holding reserves because they have places where that money can be put to good use. Good for them and frightening for us. Glass-Steagall did not prevent Wall Streeters from using their own money for specualtion. So in a sense there were two kinds of banks. A system Canada has had all along. In the 1990s Wall St. and the Republicans pushed for the repeal of Glass-Steagall and other such regulations. Phil Gramm [ R Texas ] and Jim Leach [ R Iowa ] put a bill through the House and Senate with the support of the Republican majority and the G-S Act was recinded. Anyone who is still in doubt about the Long Term Capital collapse, the dot-com crash and the economic meltdown of 2008 /2009 can blame these two Representatives and their Republican colleagues for going into a barn full of hay and playing with matches. The problem with the right / white /rich 20%, Republicans, Reform and the Harperites is that they march to an ideology as in one, two, three. Less government.[ 1 ] Government is being demonized by Herr Harper and when the Feds become weak and ineffective the right can play as much as it likes cause there ain’t no cat. [ 2 ] Government programs for the middle / lower class have to be minimal. Programs for the rich however are effective [ crumbs galore ].  Harper says those left behind should be able to pull themselves up by their boot straps, shouldn’t they? Any government programs directed at the right are valid because they stimulate growth and provide jobs. It is called corporate socialism and the free enterprise stuff is left for the majority. Harper gave Supreme Oil $ 850 million for carbon capture, a technology that is yet to prove workable. This a technology we don’t need because we can get the hydrogen revolution going here. [ 3 ] And finally lower taxes, lower taxes for the rich that is. When their ideology doesn’t work the right stuff their pockets with loot and bugger off as quickly as the America First Committee and Charles Lindbergh did. Republicans who are good at running away can be seen in this Country. Ted Morton and Tom Flanagan, both mouthy US draft dodgers. With all the restraints removed, Wall St. ran amuck. Even as the problems loomed larger and larger the Street was able to buy off the politicos and media. The right instructions to the press were, if you don’t cry fire here’s a tenner. AIG is a good example of what went wrong. Under Glass-Steagall Maurice Greenberg was required to hold reserves to ensure insurance claims could be met. He could not use the payments of the insured for speculation purposes. In the early 2000s AIG still operated as an insurance company but Greenberg set up a back office called AIG Financial Products and began dealing in funny paper with NO RESERVE TO BACK HIM UP and NO GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS. He sold insurance on the transactions of others who were lending money to yet others. Since AIG was convinced that there could be no downturn insuring such transactions was like free money with NO RISK. While AIG insurance was solid and conformed to Gov. regulations the back office was taking on huge risks that overhung the parent company. Why would the Bank of Iceland turn down products sold by AIG and rated as AAA by Moody’s. By the way the credit rating agencies were paid big money for the AAA rubber stamp. I mean if you were asked by one of the King’s advisors to lend him money would you ever be concerned about being paid back?  So AIG Financial got too deep into funny products as most of Wall St. did. When the roof fell in the parent AIG Insurance was liable for the back office shenanigans. The taxpayers had to rescue AIG. The laws that would have protected the taxpayers had been recinded by the Republicans. Things I have found out about the behavior of Republican go back to the 1920s and before. If their ideology DOESN’T WORK THEY BLAME OTHER, IT CAN’T POSSIBLY  BE OUR FAULT THEY SAY. And they quickly change the subject, refuse to discuss boo boos and hire the media and authors to rewrite / spin history. Mulroney and Black are already doing that with their books. Both books should have been titled ” Tain’t Me  “. Republicans should have been turfed years ago because of the $ messes that they have created. But studies have shown that the minds of Republicans supporters are split. Although tough times can be self inflicted they will still vote Republican because they know no other creed. They seem incapable of thinking for themselves and they need their little Mao book to keep on course even if it leads to ruin for them, their neighbours and Country.. Republicans don’t care about their neighbours, just themselves. Wall St. is to blame for the financial crisis in the EU. Not only did Wall St. sell funny $ products to the Europeans Gary Cohn of Goldman Sachs  loaned money to the Greeks to gain entry to the EU when they didn’t qualify. The Greeks had too big a debt load to make the grade. Gary loaned them enough money for a couple of weeks to hide their debts, the loan was then paid off and Cohn collected an $ 880 million fee. This is aiding and abetting criminal activity but whose counting? Not the SEC.  Bush Jr. changed the rules on mortgages. A bank could grant a mortgage and then peddle it if they liked George said. In Canada this can’t be done and it is one of the reasons this Country is not in the financial soup. No thanks to Harper and Flaherty. Now I am going to explain things so even Terry Corcoron and Kevin Libin of the Post will be able to understand. If a bank grants a mortgage here it remains on the books. If the mortgage is not covered by the owner the bank forecloses. Of course for the the bankers, foreclosures are costly and time consuming so they are careful approving applications. For those on the borderline CMHC [ Canadian Government ] will insure a questionable mortgage and charge a premium. So those of limited means just can’t get a mortgage. Now think of the Bush plan wherein a bank can sell a mortgage. Is the bank going to be careful as to who gets a mortgage??? NO their money isn’t tied up. Banks bundled mortgages together and sold them to a number of investors. No one investor owned one mortgage. A good rate of return was promised to the investors with NO RISK. HOW COULD REAL ESTATE BE A RISK??? A home could be foreclosed and sold at an ever bigger price in an ever rising housing market. THERE WAS NO CONCEIVABLE RISK. Investors demanded more and more mortgage certificates. They stood outside banks waving money, wanting in and wanting more. Banks ran out of mortgage applicants, what to do, what to do??? So the hunt was on for anyone who was still breathing, no job / no sweat, bad credit rating / no sweat, own a home outright, did you want a motorcycle, speed boat or hang glider / no sweat. The banks said we will fill in the details just sign at the bottom.  NOW TERRY AND KEVIN, HERE ARE A COUPLE OF IMPORTANT ISSUES. 80 % of America’s wealth was tied up in real estate and housing prices can go down as well as up. These critical issues apparently  never entered the minds of bankers. On one hand the mortgages had been sold off to investors for a handsome profit, The funny paper was stamped AAA. The investors were sitting pretty as were the bankers were also sitting pretty. The only entity at risk was the mortgage holder, no pay, no house. A property that could be sold to someone else at an even higher price. It was Bush’s fool’s paradise. Now house prices began to level off in 2005 and as one might expect with so many new owners that some would falter. As well many homes had been sold at teaser rates. Get you mortgage at 4% and move in. After 2 years you will be doing better and you’ll be able to afford 7 %. This kind of flim flam brought in  ever increasing numbers of applicants to quell the demand of the investors out in the street waving money. Now I want Terry and Kevin and all the other small brain people at the National Post to pay real close attention to the next part. This really happened.  Our imaginary new community of one hundred homes goes by the name, Buena Vista Heights. At any one time there are a half dozen homes for sale and one of them may be a fire sale. If they are all valued at $ 450,000 and one residence is peddled at % 350,000, a quick sale, values in the community will remain unchanged. In some cases owners own their homes outright and have a $ 450,000 asset which they can borrow against. Since the Heights is no different than most other subdivisions due to the irresponsibility of the banks and their leader Bush Jr. saying go-get the suckers, ownership begins to falter. Some people just can’t pay their mortgage so the bank happily grabs them back and offers them for sale. In the heights this raises the number of house for sale from 6 to 15. Values go soft. Maybe a new owner’s place will fetch $ 425,000 for the bank. Now factor in the impact of the teaser rate expiry. Some people have not done better and an increase of $ 600 a month for their mortgage is too big a jump. So the bank begins to grab those homes too. Secure in the knowledge that at least they can get $ 425,000 for the investors. With ever increasing defaults and the effect of the end of the teaser rates at Buena the price of resales drops below $ 400,000 and this is beginning to affect the prices of all the homes in the subdivision. Now eveyone has a $ 400,000 house. The bank keeps foreclosing on homes and the abandon ones now have to be baby sat, grass mowed, windows cleaned, heat on and such. Each vacant home is now costing the investors [ not the bank ] money for upkeep. Without the owners the properties begin the look tacky. Who would want to live in a subdivision with home in poor condition or boarded up because of squatters. If the bank doesn’t pay the utility bills the homes get cut off. When the first cold spell hits homes with no heat suffer, the foundations shift and crack. Windows and roofs crack too. As unsold houses add up the unsold formula kicks in. If there are 30 vacant homes in a subdivision of 100 the point of no return has been passed. The utilities turn off the street lights. Police withdraw their officers. Vandals move in and begin stripping the houses, doors, windows, siding, plumbing fixtures, furnaces, electrical panels and even the copper piping. Those residents who own outright begin to arm to protect themselves from the looters. And all the while the banks continue to foreclose. Now folks here is the reason America has been destroyed. It wasn’t one bank that was foreclosing but 9000 of them, each operating independently without their own money being tied up. Home owners were being adversely affected as were the investors. Now here is a story which shows the folly of removing all the rules and putting matters in the hands of Wall St. Say Bush Jr. removes all of the restrictions on deer hunting. No licences required, hunt all year round, kill as many as you want, Bucks, Does or the young ones too. Then some bright apple says, where are all the deer?  WOULD YOU BE SURPRISED??? Bush and his cronies were surprisedand they still haven’t figured it out.  The financial meltdown started in 2005 and I found out about it in 2006. Before that things were getting dicey for banks and Wall St. but the trouble were confined to those who loaned $ and the investors. But when the banks began to foreclose on homes there should have been people in Washington who could see where this was leading. Most of those who are now writing books and appearing on talk shows were asleep at the switch and I would think making a lot of money. Some of them are quite jovial when so many Americans are hurting. They talk a good game but are garden variety phonies and nincompoops. In 2006 George Bush, if he had been a leader would have realized that the Republican no rules, hands off approach was in trouble. HE HAD A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO NIP THIS DEPRESSION IN THE BUD.    D E C L A R E   A   N A T I O N A L  M O R A T O R I U M   O N   M O R T G A G E   F O R E C L O S U R E S.  BY NOT ACTING EVERYBODY LOST, HOMEBUYERS, INVESTORS, THE BANKS THEMSELVES, POLITICIANS AND AMERICA. WHAT DOES BUSH USE FOR BRAINS???  My fictional Buena Vista  story  describes what was happening all across the USA and yet not a word of it appeared in the media. Rather, Bush and company declared a moratorium on reporting this shocking news. The Keystone is being proposed by this same old crowd on Wall St. backed by the Republicans.  TransNotCanada pipe is owned by Walls St. and project is just another way to game the system.  It is a new way to extract money, the old wells have gone dry. The American Petroleum   Association has bought off the old / tired / broke media as they said they would. The Republicans have been bought and paid for too. If you read the newspapers exclusively you are living in a fantasy world. I buy 4 papers each day to find out what the wing nuts on the right are saying and what remote planet they are living on at the moment. If you are exclusively on the net then you are aware of the truth and the real threat to the environment from Keystone. I find it interesting for the press, politicans, Supreme Oil and rich it is business as usual. They live in the past and are convinced that they still have a tight grip on information stream in the public arena. It is just a matter of again buying the ad media as American Petroleum has done and then widely circulating their propaganda. This time around they have lost the initiative. Many more voices are out there who do not have to kiss advertiser’s asses. I have 30 paper articles [ and climbing ] about the Keystone. You can easily see the shills are all writing what they have been coached to say. Each journoshill tries to put a personal stamp on their copy but it is still all the same mush which produces a pay cheque. In every article they mention the Keystone will transport oil. No, no a  thousand time no. What will be pumped is dilluted bitument [ dilbit ]. A toxic mix of tar, sand, chemicals, diluted using volitile naptha. Russ Girling, CEO of TransNotCanada is apparently a Canadian but he is no more than a US lackey. I saw Americans defacing a Canadian flag. This is what results when oil propaganda is spread about. The Yanks are being told the Keystone can carry water. Whose??? Ours??? Joe Oliver the Minister, was in Europe threatening Connie Hedegaard, EU Climate Commissioner over their decision to brand the tar sands very dirty oil. Which it is. Mainly because Supreme Oil refused to clean up its’ garbage. I maintain this clean up can be done and lower costs at the same time. Sensible suggestions are being drowned out by the oil press. Oliver is also threatening to sell Canada oil to Asia, so there. The Federal Government doesn’t control provincial natural resources. Alberta owns the oil but the Feds have taken over. Not a wimper from the Alberta Government. Not like the old days with Trudeau and the NEP. Herr Harper interfered in the Manitoba Provincial election by having Air Canada refuse to allow air crew to stay in downtown Winnipeg because of so called crime. It didn’t work, the NDP won anyway. Harper interfered in the Ontario election by taking over Tim Hudak’s campaign and they bombed. Now Harper’s Oil Party has taken charge of Alberta’s oil business. The papers say that the Keystone will pump oil from the tar sands, 2000 miles to Texas for refining. And not harm a hair on a flea’s back.  That it will provide America with a secure source of oil, create jobs. None of this is true, go on the net for yourself. Girling, is going to in a sense steal Alberta’s sand laden tar and mix it with naptha [ Dil Bit ], leaving the mess behind.  This will be forced through an oil pipeline not designed for Dil Bit. The safety sensors won’t work with DilBit. DilBit contains tar, various chemicals and sand [ quartz, rutile and pyrite ] [ pyrite was used to create a spark for flintlock muskets in the 1700s ]. The various oil companies have been experimenting with pumping DilBit through oil pipelines behind the Government’s back.  There have been 12 spills this year, one of which was an explosion. Both Exxon and Endbridge had spills and they told officials they were pumping oil [ this was a lie ]. Before any more DilBit is pumped through an oil pipeline, sections of pipe taken from the 12 spills should be analyzed as to the areas of failure and the remaining thickness of the pipe wall. Time in use of each pipe and load factors will allow us to predict just when new spills will occur. Even good old Ken the repairman could do that.  The DilBit is going to Texas because Supreme Oil has idle refinery capacity there. From Texas the finished oil products WILL be going to China, Girling said so. Joe Oliver doesn’t know what he is talking about. Diane Francis backs the Keystone because the US needs oil she says. Balderdash. The States uses a hub and spoke oil supply system. Oil goes to Cushing Oklahoma where it is sent off in all directions. This system worked fine pre depression. Now America is in a slump, demand is down and there is  a glut of oil in Cushing which has pushed the price of oil per barrel down by $ 30 there. But there is no way to get this landlocked oil to world markets where a premium price can be got. If an oil pipeline is built from Cushing to Texas [ a splendid idea ] more refining capacity in Houston will be mothballed and the Chinese would get their oil. But shipping the oil from Cushing then puts that City and its’ storage facilities in peril. The Royal Bank of Scotland is apparently going to fund the Keystone at $ 7.5 billion. It was reported by TransNotCanada the other day that the price to build has risen by a billion. This was meant to scare opponents. I think this shell game should scare the hell out of the RBS Directors and TransNotCanada shareholders. Who should be pursuing  the testing of the already failed piping. If I had those sections of failed pipe and the records. In a week I would have the answer as to the date of future failure.  Scaring was the same tactic used by Chandler [ L A Times ], Eaton [ Mayor of L A ], Mulholland [ Chief engineer L A ], other prominent businessmen and an official from Washington. In 1905 they stole the water rights from farmers in the Owens Valley. The L A Times championed the aqueduct and convinced City residents to pay for it. The campaign saw Mulholland  creating water shortages by running water away throught sewers. The Times didn’t say boo. The aqueduct was to pass through the San Fernando Valley which was little more than a desert. The above group of swindlers bought up all the land in San Fernando for a song. When the aqueduct reach the Valley special provision was made to irrigate San Fernando first and the price of land soared. It was 10 years before L A saw any water but the boys made a killing off land in the San Fernando Valley. It shows when money, dishonest politicans and business men, a crooked engineer and the press [ L A Times ] get together lot of money can accrue to a small group quickly while everyone else loses. The Keystone is just another kick at the same cat.

Herr Harper is going hard against the Canadian wheat Board and I have figured out why. As a young Toronto boy he went west in search of himself. His phony cause was the NEP which he learned about from Preston Manning. Trudeau’s National Energy Policy had no affect on Harper personally but he seized upon the alienation of Westerners stirred up by Supreme Oil [ Harper worked for Imperial Oil ] as an opening to express his Fascist views. You remember Harper proposing a firewall around Alberta, doing away with the Ottawa income tax, opting out of medicare and dismantling the Wheat Board. Now he is hurrying to scuttle the Board because the Tories were defeated in Manitoba by the NDP. Harper had Air Canada prohibit air crew from staying in downtown Winnipeg due to a made up crime problem in the City. Air Canada owed the the PeeM one because of Harper’s hastling of the unions. The Wheat Board office is in Winnipeg. Also most of the grain shipped by the Board goes through Churchill Manitoba. If  the Board goes the Town will be devastated. Our wheat farmers will then become subservient to US multinationals. It doesn’t help that the MP for Churchill Niki Ashton is NDP. Harper has just spent many millions of dollars of our money to upgrade the airport, rail line and the port in Churchill and now he is going to kill the Town. This man is something to behold, his values are not Canadian in nature. I would say, reject the Keystone, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN the tar sands up, refine and upgrade OUR  in situ and build a shorter, cheaper and much easier pipeline to Churchill. Then the world would be our market and we wouldn’t have to be jerked around by Wall St. It is Supreme Oil and Wall St. that are preventing us from using the broom and dustpan at Fort Mc Murray. Harper seems determined to tie us ever tighter to a sinking America. and hand them our resources for a song.

Here is why I believe the Keystone is a hoax and I think analysts should pay close attention. Supreme Oil was pumping upgraded crude throught their lines. They then decided it would be cheaper to pump Dil Bit without doing the necessary research as to whether it could be successfully be transported through a regular oil pipeline. Keystone XL was on the drawing board.  Apparently the DilBit experiment has not worked out as planned and there have been 12 spills so far this year. Four times the regular rate of spills. I believe the Keystone XL idea came first. Then someone decided the much cheaper Dil Bit slurry was a way of putting the idle upgraders in Texas to work. So what we had was an oil pipeline in the pipeline and a new approach to transporting bitumen without doing the research into whether this idea would actually work?  There must be reports on whether DilBit can be put through an oil pipe?  If there are such reports would Girling release them? Could we make him come clean?  If reports are not made available there are a couple of ways to proceed. Take Girling at his word and have TRnotC put up a $ 5 billion bond. If nothing goes wrong the money is never touched and only the interest is due. If we are going out on a limb believing promises TransNotCanada can at least pay a little interest to show faith.  Absent the reports we need the failed pipes from the 12 spills and the records [ material, toxicity, sand content and the % 0f dilutent ]. If there are problems with the lines handling the corrosive and abrasive Dil Bit  then the Keystone has to be shelved. Here is my main question. A barrel of thick crude is transported through a pipe and a barrel comes out the other end. It takes 16 barrels of bitumen to produce one barrel of crude. If the bitumen is mixed with the naptha dilutent the ratio is 16 barrels of bitument and 8 barrels of dilutent for a total of 24 barrels of DilBit. Say it requires 100 KW/Hs to pump one barrel of thick crude a given distance. Now if you pump 24 barrels of an even thicker mixture over that same given distance it requires 2400 KW/Hs, at least. Most of Alberta’s electricity come from coal generating plants, thus even greater emissions for Connie Hedegaard to deal with. To increase KW demand 24 times for each barrel doesn’t make any business sense when the bitument can be upgrade right beside the tar sands mine. Why is it so important to upgrade the bitument in Texas? There are few supplies of naptha dilutent in Fort McMurray so it has to be trucked up from Cushing Oklahoma which increases the price even further and produces even more more CO2. But I did discover that if Canadian bitumen is turned into oil in Texas it is free of taxes. This means extra profits for Wall St. and Supreme Oil. TransNotCanada, Harper, Oliver, Girling, Collyer et al are not levelling with us. Apparently if the Keystone is build it will create about 2000 labourers jobs in this Country and 3 to 4 thousand jobs in the USA, most of them temporary. These estimates came for TransNotCanada in 2007 when the company sought approval for the line. Now Harper, Oliver, Girling and Collyer are saying 20,000 jobs, rubish, it is just another lie. This propaganda was put together 5 years ago, before the net took off.  I think the Keystone people expected to buy the media this time around as they have done in the past and bullshit their way to success as they are trying to do now. It is as if the Journoshills like Diane Francis, Rex Murphy, Kevin Libin, Terry Corcoron, Peter Foster, Lawrence Solomon, Ezra Levant and the like DO NOT DO RESEARCH ON THE NET. They couldn’t write the stuff they write if they had all the facts. I mean could they? Is the pay that good, worth telling lies? As stated the tar sands and the Keystone are two different arguments. By combining them Harper has possibly put a stake throught the heart of our tar sands. If the Keystone goes down the environmentalists will be emboldened and they will want unconditional surrender, namely shutting down the tar sands too. For a couple of years or more I have been urging the Alberta Government to force a cleanup of the mess. But all we have heard is double talk. The right / white / rich 20% apparently only read the newspapers which are filled with their own propaganda. Corcoron and others say the concern about Global Warming is diminishing because the papers are paid to keep saying that. Insiders are beginning to believe their own propaganda.  If you go on the internet you can see how strong the environmental movement is. It ain’t going away, the anger is deep. Newspapers are in decline and the act of allowing themselves to be used by the movers and takers will only hasten their doom. Keystone has become an election issue in the US. If Obama approves the Keystone his support will evaporate and his voters will stay home and sit on their hands. If the President turn down the Keystone he will pick up enough support for a second term and he will anger Wall St. and the voters in the middle are already mad at Wall st. The Republicans will be mad by they don’t vote for Obama anyway. The oil companies will be upset but they are a sunset industry. The cancellation of the Keystone and the shuttering of the tar sands may well be the straw that breaks the back of fossil fuels in Canada and moves us into the forefront of alternate fuels and the  hydrogen revolution.  Immediately there are two things that have to happen Stateside and one requirement in Canada. President Obama has to get hold of the ruptured pipes from the 12 spills and the records of operation and have them independently inspected. I could do that for TransNotCanada in an unbised way. I have no problem with A CLEAN TAR SANDS and I like machines that run properly. If Girling is hiding something he won’t touch me with a ten foot pole. The case for the Keystone lies in those burst pipes. Next Obama has to get an assurance that the product going to Texas IS NOT FOR EXPORT. Girling should have to swear that this is so before a Committee of Congress and if he is not telling the truth he and his management team should be jailed. The requirement in this country should be an undertaking that there will be no toxic waste or carbon footprint with TransNotCanada putting up a cash security bond. This should not be a problem. All the companies making up Supreme Oil have just declared billion dollar profits. Such a bond to cover possible environmental damage would be chicken feed. And my ideas for a clean it would cost Supreme Oil NOTHING AND THEY MIGHT EVEN MAKE MONEY. I am after all a businessman. My life has always revolved around profit. Trying to maintain the status quo in an ever changing can be deadly. This holding back the hands of time is a favourite pastime of Big Oil. Establish a petroleum enterprise, run it flat out, change as little as possible, seek a monopoly and eliminate the competition [ alternative fuels ]. This approach had worked for years and been supported by politicians. In North America we are still tight in the grip of Supreme Oil, witness the Keystone. It makes no sense whatsoever to anyone other than the oilies. They win and everyone else is at risk. However in Europe the game has changed, the oilies have lost some of their grip and it is fast slipping away. Alternate energies that are Green / clean / cheap are coming to the fore. The Europeans are eating our lunch. Once the Libs / PCs in Ontario have bankrupted individual citizens here [ the nukies have already bankrupted the Province ] there will be a revolt but by then it will be too late to profit from Green technologies. We will be buyers of Green products if we can afford them. Just like TransNotCanada would have Albertans shovelling tar / sand into wheel barrows and seeing it sent to Texas to be made into value added products. Ontarians will be employed cutting down trees and breaking rocks. When our leaders get together to celebrate I am sure they drink a toast to the status quo. I sort of think there are other inventors / idea people like out there someplace but the old/ tired / broke media is paid make sure the hands of time move not an inch.

Being an old guy means I still mail stuff. I was always a letter writer, mostly about electricity and energy in the last dozen years. The status quoers I wrote about above have been front and centre over this period and are still  in control. My blog about energy etc is now 2 years old and I see some change afoot. Maybe, just maybe we can begin to move ahead with cheap Green before Ontarians take to the streets in a war of KWs. I make a hard copy of every blog for my file. A paper file feels great. On the various subject I make copies and send them off by mail. John Honderich of the Star is still on my mailing list. My complaint has always been that the Star prints nukie propaganda. With Honderich money trumps the truth. In the past Honderich could just ignore me. Now he is in receipt of a hard copy of my blog and he still kisses nukie asses. And still ignores me. But a lot of you out there are not ignoring me so the rules of the game have changed. Now I am in the process of organizing an open and honest debate on electricity and energy in Ontario. The very debate I suggested to Honderich many years ago and more recently to Steve Paikin / TVO. Both ignored me but it doesn’t matter any more, we will have our debate won’t we? As already suggested, write down your questions [ max 3 ] on a piece of paper, keep a copy [ very important ] and send your letter to your MPP. You can get his / her name on the internet or call the 800 number at Queen’s Park.  By sending such a letter in you are casting your vote on electricity. Hydro COSTS ONE HALF A CENT A KW/H AT THE PLANT. Why are you paying 20 cents per KW/H at your meter. We will look to answer such questions. The gang at Queen’s Park can run but they can’t hide. Thank you all for your encouraging comments. In terms of Ontario’s renewal I can already see a shaft of sunlight peeking over the hill. Most of those named in the tags on my blogs get a hard copy by mail.
