Tacitus 56 to 117 AD was a Roman Senator and noted historian. In my world there are two kinds of writers, fuzzy thinkers and clear thinkers. Now there are also non thinkers, like Herr Harper but that is a whole nother subject. My favourite fuzzies are Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff. Rex Murphy is right up there too. Tacitus during his life could see that the seeds of ruin had been been planted in Rome. He was concerned enough to try and get his fellow senators to do a 180 in an effort to save the Empire. But he had to tread carefully because losing one’s head was as easy as pie. Tacitus warned about the dangers of power without accountibility [ Harper ] and the love of power untempered by principle [ Harper ]. Disregard for the rules of democracy has already driven the USA to its’ knees and that Country is now beyond hope. Eight years of Bush Jr., and Republicans like Gingrich has pushed redemption out of reach. Under Herr Harper the dismantling of democracy is still an ongoing project. But with a Harper / Gingrich partnership our demise will be accelertated. There are a number of signposts involved with the Republican / Reform / right approach. The righties make most progress within democracies. They need to have a huge underclass that does the labour and generates revenue. The uberclass have to be able to kid the 80% that everything is being done in their favour and that the will of the people is being respected. The most recent example of Harper speaking out of both sides of his mouth is his attack on the National Energy Board, a Government Agency put in place to protect the interests and health of the underclass. Harper’s contention that rich foreigners are messing with the NEB hearing is pure poppycock. Both the Keystone and the Gateway pipe lines are going to be financed by Wall St. Both TransNotCanada and Enbridge are Companies owned in the USA. And the tar / lighter fluid / sand /chemical slurry which will be pumped through the pipes meant to handle OIL will belong to the US oil cartel and be up graded and refined offshore. This deal will see Alberta’s bitument remove from our control for a song because the Wild Rose Party [ aka Alberta Oil Party ] will facilitate the theft. All of the filthy garbage left by the oilies will be their present to Canadians and the importance of this filthy remains will go right over Peter Kent’s head. The 13 colonies that formed the US were based on slave / free labour. As a long time businessman I could have gotten rich quick if my payroll had been eliminated. So all the bullshit that comes from the likes of Gingrich about equal treatment among Americans and the accomplishments of the founding fathers is window dressing. The States has never been able to come to grips with the slave / free labour question even to this day. Gingrich and his minority on the right worship at the shrine of Fredrick Neitzsche [ 1844 to 1900 ], a Prussian mental patient with syphilis who promoted the uberman and thought of the underclass as a herd of little consequence. Fredrick was almost unknown as a writer until the right in the US seized upon him and created a myth along with the Adam Smith myth about the silent hand of the market. Only a small minority in the world believe what Neitzsche had to say is of any importance. Namely, the hard right [ Republicans / Reform ] and their disciples like Bush /Gingrich and Pastor Manning / Ted Byfield / Herr Harper. The right has to walk a tight rope. If the majority ever catches on to the fact that enslavement is the destination they could revolt. Now in some case where enslavement is being implemented a population will just roll over and play dead. Apparently giving in to a tyrant is easier then getting off their duffs [ Canadians ??? ]. If one looks back though history you can see the rise of the uberman theory in many places and the success rate. Every time the uberclass is able to take over by whatever method things most often progress swimmingly. The underclass in these cases are still in the dark as to what the future holds and the few who are aware of what is in store disappear in the night. When the 80% finally awakes to the reality of the situation then revolutionary ideas bubble up. Even then the uberclass still has the opportunity to buy off the citizenry. In Rome at the end in 400 AD, the emperors provided free bread and wine to go along with free entertainments. Germans who questioned Hitler’s actions during the lead up to the War were quieted when they were gifted the property and possessions stolen from the Jews. But the problem remains that the uberclass can get careless and fail to work to maintain the balance between exercising control, while at the same time keeping the natives quiet. In the contest between the uberman form of government and democracy, democracy always wins out. But in a democracy the people can become complacent, centre on their own interests and forget the big picture. In a society where the rules of commerce are allowed to lapse and the criminal / business element is able to amass private fortunes such money can be used to employ slow witted / anti democratic types like Gwyn Morgan, David Dodge, Don Drummond, Andrew Coyne et al as fronts to change our society to something other than what we understand without us knowing it is happening. Hitler employed millions of empty headed yokels to serve as Brownshirts. Their task in the beginning was to rough up protesters. Eventually rather than waste arm power those that peeped got popped. Gingrich just said that he could work with Herr Harper. Canada, according to Newt is a Conservative Country, that has a PRO-AMERICAN PM, who is a friend of the Republicans and who wants to get going on the Alberta pipe lines regardless of the cost to environmentalists and native peoples. Exactly as Republicans would do. Is there anything in Gingrich’s statement that even nudges democracy??? This is the kind of mouth diarrhea that gets the right in trouble and such utterances deny them the very goal that the seek. Eventually a revolution sweeps the ubermen away including the very society in which everyone lives. Out of such ruins the underclass is sometimes able to reconstruct some kind of new society and sometimes not. The base of the Republican Party in the USA is Fascist. They worship at the tomb of Neitzsche because the writings of this nut case have been altered to appeal to those who are criminally minded, selfish and intolerant. During Hitler’s rise to power from 1933 on the Republicans were taking money under the table from the Nazis to undermine FDR. Charles Lindberg was front for American Nazi sympathizers. He was an airhead who was paid for the use of his name like Gwyn Morgan is to-day. The US Fascists hid behind the name, ” American First “. Presently we have similar organizations like the Manning , Fraser, C. D Howe Institutes and the National Citizen’s Coalition, all Fascist. The America Firsters had as members many of the biggest corporations in the States, the CEOs of which never revealed their names. They paid others to do their dirty work. A ruse that is employed by Herr Harper in the here and now with many of these shills operating as charities at taxpayer’s expense. Lindberg and his backers made one fatal error, they didn’t consider the actions of Japan. The Republicans thought they could keep America out of the War, allow Hitler to dominate Europe and Russia and do business with Nazis. Japan was gradually seizing large chunks of the Far East but when would the isolationist Republicans think of anything beyond their borders other than business opportunities no matter where the stealing of resources was taking place. When the Japanese struck Pearl Harbour on Dec. 7 /41, as the pilloried Billy Mitchell had forcast 15 years before the office of the American Firsters disappeared without a trace in TWO DAYS. Those guilty of high treason slunk back into the shadows as the right does so well. Look at Wall St. /2008 and 2009. Lindberg did a 180 and reappeared as a patriot, FDR would have none of it. Charles was and is a disgrace to his Country as is Tom Flanagan [ of Wild Rose Fame ]. Various writer were employed to santitize Lindbergs reputation but it was never successful. Those who seek to rewrite the history books like Brian Mulroney and Mike Harris seldom are. What the dumb Republicans / Wall St. didn’t know is that Hitler had put in motion the search for jet aeroplanes, rockets and the atom bomb. Even if Japan had moderated its’ demands and had come to an agreement with FDR the isolated and backward looking America business deal would have been short lived. Hitler would have consolidated his hold on Europe then eaten the Yanks for lunch with his new weaponry. The USA is hurting badly and the Republicans are not about to change course and make the necessary adjustments to right the ship internally. Everything we see to-day from Harper is related to giving away the store to the Republicans and the right / white / rich 20% Stateside. We are a rich, democratic Country. To have their way Gingrich would need Herr Harper to turn us into an undemocratic poor Country. And that is the process that Harper is presently engaged in backed by unlimited funds from the US oil cartel. What Harper, Manning, Gwyn, Dodge, Drummond, Oliver, Kent, Peladeau, Andrew Coyne et al do not realize is when Newt and the USA right have control of all of our resources as well as our water there will be no more need for the Canadian Quislings. They’ll all be taken out behind the barn and shot. America, under the Republicans will try to climb out of their financial hole on our backs and the backs of others. The theft of Canada’s resources has already begun. The US oil cartel is right now angling to steal raw bitument from Alberta, ably assisted by Herr Harper. It will be refined offshore and the finished oil products will go to the world market. The American underclass will get no monitary benefit from this subterfuge. Only the rich will win. The Keystone and Gateway are Wall Street’s way of facilitating the theft of tar from Alberta. America’s biggest threat is China. The Chinese don’t have to attack the USA. They can just wait till the States collapses from within under the Republicans. So Herr Harper, in his snuggling up to China now only hastens the demise of North America. Himself has been badmouthing the Chinese since he came to office. Harper’s wishful thinking has no boundries. Can you imagine 350 million people being an underclass in a banana republic under Chinese rule. Again the Republicans / Reform / right are making the same mistake as 1939. Once China takes over North America they will all be toast. I believe human nature has not changed since the days of the cro-magnon men and women. During Hitler’s climb he needed money. German industrialists feared Stalin and the Communists. The Fuhrer offered to clamp down on the unions and the shirts thought they could control him. Within their group of companies they raised millions of marks. Once in power Hitler did deal with the unions but he also rounded up most of the industralists, seized their enterprises and had them shot. Wall St., the US oil cartel, the republicans and the right will all be living in poor houses under the chinese.

PRESIDENT NEWT GINGRICH — Lets’ look at the possibilities when Newt takes over. Firstly he will use the recent US Supreme Court order that corporations are PEOPLE and they can give political candidates as much as they like. It is their free speak right. The Republicans will then rig the rules of Congress using their unlimited amount of dough to make sure Democrats are never again elected to office. These tricks are used in various States and by Harper as well. Congress will become a place where the hard right / Republicans / companies that donate to the party discuss how to split up the American pie. In the debate the underclass will not be mentioned. Neitzsche gave them permission, the herd doesn’t count. Newt will move to throttle the internet. Anyone found protesting Republican rule will be shut down and if necessary jailed without due process. Gingrich will seize PBS and Al Gore’s new TV network and turn same over to FOX and Rupert Murdoch. Hewt will close the EPA so that industries can just put in facilities with no thought as to health risks or finacial cost to citizens or communities. Insurance companies will take over the US health care system. If you can pay for coverage you’ll get excellent treatment. If you don’t have the money then the state will have one less drain on the system. Newt will kill off unions. In many States Republicans governments are bribing companies to relocate and have passed legislation banning unions. This means individuals can take jobs without union obligations and when the union threat disappears they will have to dance to the company tune and have no benefits and no security. This takes us back 100 years to worker slavery. Smaller Government will mean fewer cops, firefighters, para medics and meat / dam inspectors. This is the Reagan curse. Less government deprives the people of the ability to chose collective security and advancement. Reducing the size of government means the Republicans can rule from the sidelines and blame everything on a phantom. The underclass will be fixed on the swinging of the watch while all the while their pockets are being picked.

Now to Canada. Gingrich will be the President of the United States plus One of North America. We will have to learn the Stars and Stripes. He’ll not be able to manage this Country without some representation from us. I believe Newt will have Herr Harper and Peter Mackay as office boys. There is a reason for this. Only a small number of Reformers are in the Fascist / Conservative Party. Most of the members, according to Allan Gregg are former PCs [ like me ]. Harper is a foreigner to our kind. The PCs were absorbed due to the amount of US oil cartel money Herr Haper had at his disposal and the help he had from Republicans operatives like Carl Rove. Our Senate will be abolished no matter what the Constitution says. The Liberals, NDP and the BLOC will disappear. Unlimited oil money and Tim Power’s attack ads will destroy any individual who kicks up a stink. Pierre ” the mad “ Peladeau will be given control over TV, radio, newspapers and magazines. Pierre will be handed the CBC. The only problem I see is that CBC employees will be in over their heads, see they tell the truth. Maybe Peladeau will run liars classes for all concerned with instructors like Ezra LeRant, Michael Coren, Lorrie Goldstein and Brian Lilley. The National Post is an American Paper and has been for a long time now. We have a law against foreigner owning our media but Harper won’t enforce it. It is a make-believe newspaper that is now printed by Peladeau’s Sun. The Sun / Post will become the official voice of the Fascist / Conservative Party and a runaway success, Pierre’s first. The reason being it will be the only newspaper in the Country and we will be forced by law to buy it. Our House of Commons will become like Congress in the US a place where the ubermen [ no women ] slice up the pie. Government workers will assemble before the Peace Tower and heil salute Harper high atop his new balcony. The border will be opened wide and American businesses will be able to drive in and set up shop wherever they see fit. That US law will come in wherein if a business needs a piece of property the present owner gets pitch out on his ass without recourse. Both the Keystone and the Gateway pipe lines will go ahead as pay back for the contributions from the US oil cartel to Gingrich, the Republicans and Herr Harper. The Keystone has been sold to the right on the basis it can also carry Canadian water to a very dry Texas. Alberta will become a have-not-province as will Saskatchewan. Brad Wall thinks his potash is safe, think again Brad. Spills of Diluted Bitument will continue and be just left. TransNotCanada and Enbridge will be absolved of any reponsibility by Harper. By backing the oil cartel and believing all the NEP stories Albertans will be living a life very much like those first settlers in 1900. If the native peoples rebel as they have threatened Harper will put his new jails to use. In the USA most inmates are black, minorities and a few poor whites except Conrad Black. Here in Canada our jail population will be native people, protesters, environmentalists and a few poor whites but not Brain Mulroney or Mike Harris. If there is unrest the RCMP under Gestapo Chief Tim Powers will take control of local police forces to quiet the noisy areas and jail trouble makers. Much like the G 20 protests. Revenue Canada is now an enforcement arm of the Government and will be sent out to peer into ever bivouac, cave and hovel to see if the underclass is hiding anything from the authorities. The CRTC will be put in charge of monitoring the internet to ensure troublemakers are silenced. It will be a sort of replay of the Nazi book burning exercises without flames. Groups of more than 12 people will be banned and this means an end to concerts and the ballet. Large families will have to get special expensive permits for large gatherings from Tony Clement. He’s the guy who looks after the Government’s cash isn’t he? Everyone in Canada who is not a citizen will be registered in the worker class and branded with a little American Flag and a number. As well this will happen to Mexicans who hopped the fence down south. This under – under class will work for minimum wage, now benefits, minimum schooling and a level of health care to be determined by employers. If a sickness or injury is minor and happens to a good worker he or she will get to see a doctor. If the problem is serious and there is little prospect of the cost of the medical attention being recouped the worker will be left to his or her own resources. If death results it is one less non producing mouth to feed.

The US of A is a financial basket case of its’ own making. The Republicans, the banks and Wall St. have raped the Country continuously over the last ten years and from the media not a peep. They were well paid not to peep. Now Canada’s rape is begining with the Keystone and the Gateway projects and our media is not making a peep. As in the US they are being paid not to peep. The only peeps are coming from the CBC and Harper is trying deperately to shut the Corporation down without getting blood on his hands. Harper has a SLIM MAJORITY with less than 40% of the vote. More than 60% of Canadians voted against him. The voter turnout was just 61.4%. Those who actually voted for Harper constitute the hard right wing core. So about 40 % of eligible Canadian voter are sleep walking us into armageddon. History has shown that there are always people who not realize they are in trouble till the clang of the concentration camp gate closing behind them strike their ears. Is there such a large percentage these folk here on our shore or is it that too many people believe the right wing media. Would they respond differently if they new the truth. Before the gate closes shut we have to tackle the right wing lies. There must be a way to force the Sun and the Post to carry balanced coverage of the news. We have an Ontario Press Council and an Advertsing Standards Can. but they seem to have lost their tongues. My complaints have been ignored. Fair and balanced coverage of the news is crucial right now. The battleground is the riding office of you local MP. Make your voice heard, it may be the last time you get the chance. What started real small many years ago was an effort on my part to bring John Honderich of the Star up to speed on nuclear power. Being a fix-almost-anything-mechanic I know what works and what doesn’t. Back then I advised the yellow striped Mike Harris to fix our electrical system or face defeat. I was a PC insider. Mike did neither. All through history great men and women were those who put themselves out there, who took on challenges when the road ahead was obscure and a good outcome was not asured. Knowing he had become very unpopular and was going to lose Harris bolted. Just like the Captain of the Italian cruise ship Mike abandon his ship. The PC Party of my day had become afflicted by the rise of the right wing closed minds by 1985. The newcomers like Frank Miller, a village idiot if there ever was one was convinced he was always right without having to develop the smarts to determine what was actually right or wrong for the voters. Miller ignored the grass roots. Thus our party descended into the state of wishful thinking, much like the Republicans in the US. Ronald Reagan the man who destroyed California and moved on to do the same to America. He is the nation’s Father who presided over the demise of his country. A movement that Herr Harper pays allegience to. Frank Miller had the same lack of smarts that aflicted Joe Clark, wishful thinking, he got tossed. Harris never learned a thing from the Miller debacle. Made leader in February, Frank was gone by June. Ernie Eves lost and disappeared in a blink. Then John ” the loser “ Tory Lost. Tim Hudak, likewise blew it. The right seems to be incabable of learning the rules of a democracy. The hard right, now in control of the Ont. PCs has kept us out of power for a dozen years. Quite some accomplishment. Christina Blizzard and John Snobelen have been around for a long time but apparently now live in a world of fiction. But I have been around longer. A democracy mean the will of the people. A government of the people for the people has to follow the people. Queen Elizabeth, 1 said after a particularly difficult period, ” I must stay close to my people “. And she was a Queen and did not have to get elected. Locked into the thinking of the hard right [ if these people ever think? ], is, if at first we don’t succeed in knocking a hole through the brick wall with our heads, then we’ll just keep on trying. The right always blames others or circumstances for all their failure. No, the ubermen are always right, the ideology never fails. Since I am a long time PC, I have wrestled with odd rightie in my day and they are an odd lot, selfish and intolerant. I have always sought the truth as a means of guiding myself through life. As I flip over to 77 I have had a pretty fair go of things and my kids are chips off the old block. All very successful in their own right. Here are the facts. Most Canadians are in the middle politically and this is the same for Alberta, no matter what you hear from Herr Harper, the oilie press,Pastor Manning, the Fraser Inst., the National Citizen’s Coalition and the Fascists. If you want to get into power there are 3 things you must do other than promoting revolution. Provide efficient government for all. Not just the friends of the government, the US oil cartel, the rich and big business as Herr harper does. Have enough government to provide people with security and the protection of their rights. Having this limited level of guidance allows people to go about their business uninhibited. In addition, a comprehensive support system for people who have been left behind. A rich society like our’s can afford to be generous to our citizens who are in need. If the Star Can pay Rob Pritchard $ 9 million to screw up the Paper we can afford welfare. [ Example - Alberta in 1947 when Leduc blew in. The Province had NO MONEY TO GO INTO THE OIL BUSINESS. Ontario gave Alberta the money, no strings attached ] [ When Medicare came in, Saskatchewan could not afford to implement it. Ottawa topped up their bank account to allow entry ] [ that's Canada ]. The right doesn’t want Canadians to work together. United we move forward and prosper. Divided, the right has us by the short ones and can do as they wish. In the final days of the Neanderthal civilivation there were sign of cannibalism. This is what happens in a society where there isn’t enough to go around, people fight over scraps. Harper is setting one Canadian against another, this will keep them occupied and the right can do what it pleases. It is called Reagan Californianization. And last but not least a good government looks for sources of revenue other than taxes to strengthen the balance sheet. In 1960, [ BEFORE NUCLEAR ] Ontario Hydro, under Leslie Frost contributed $ 281 million to the Provincial Treasury. O H sold surplus power and provided hydro expertise to other countries and jurisdictions. Ontario’s experiences in providing KW services to its’ citizens gave it exportable skills and products. So governments must operate like a business. We can’t pay secretaries like Laura Formusa, CEO of Hydro One more than $ 900,000 a year plus bonuses for being a public relations pretty face for McGuinty. She’s a high paid front for the Liberal Party machine. Cheap KWs in Ontario were and are crucial. We could easily hire someone with the needed mechanical skills for $ 300,000 a year plus bonuses to produce good financial numbers and cheap KWs. This Province now pays McGuinty’s friends big bonuses for screwing up royally because every move is calculated to make big money and create an opportunity to score political points. You can’t serve two masters. What incentive is there to do a good if you are involved with the Liberal machine??? Government should provide necessary but reasonable programs and services like full medicare, first rate hospitals, the best educational system going and a social safety net to ensure nobody is left out. I am not one who wants to see people dying in the streets. Canada is a rich Country, overall most likely the richest in the world but now being terribly managed especially by Harper. Our wealth is being siphoned off to the insiders. Canada can afford the governmental system I outline above. If we can give the US oil cartel $ 850 million to diddle aound with carbon capture [ now a fantasy ] we can afford a generous government. To me it is a toss up between Herr Harper and Dalton McGuinty as to who is fouling up the nest most. Harper is far the more dangerous person because he has the ability to wreck Canada by changing the governing system. California is a good example of what Reagan, the Republicans and the US oil cartel can do when they got together. 34 million people in that State are now ruled from the right and have no voice. Harper and his oilie employers are turning us into a financial and jurisdictional basket case along the same lines. McGuinty is just a disaster monetarily. Having the nukies give him a house early on really cooked Ontario’s goose. Although I have been writing Dalt for more than eight years I can’t get it through his thick head how much damage the nukies have done to Ontario. A situation the media HAS NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED. The Preem would have been awakened from his slumber and forced to act if at least John Honderich of the Star had had anything other than a thick head, too. Our chestnuts could have been pulled out of the fire way back. Years ago I determined Honderich was a light weight loser. John had written something daffy which showed he was an eighth of an inch deep and a thousand miles long. I wrote one of my many letters to him about nuclear and said, ” if your name was Smith you would still be in the Star mailing room “. That reminds me of Herr Harper who got his first job from his dad working in the mailing room at Imperial Oil. If the US oil cartel had not hired Harper as their front man he might still be sorting mail??? What was so troubling back then was the fact that the Star was telling nukie lies for money. I mean technical lies right out of the nukie handbook. Old Ontario Hydro in 2000 had 3 major means of generating KWs, 1/3rd hydro, 1/3rd coal and 1/3rd nuclear. This info came right out of their annual report that year [ I have a copy ]. From that same report came the figure for emissions, 140,000 tons of CO2. Nuclear plants have emissions just a bit lower than natural gas generating plants according to the US / EPA. Old O H had done an Inventory on Potential Hydro Electric Sites in the Province, dated in the 1980s [ number of sites identified, Lat. / Long., total 2200 ]. A civil servant in Ont. Lands and Forests smuggled me out part of that inventory, I have the location of 600 sites, taken from this buried document hidden away from your eyes by the nukies. McGuinty, Honderich and the Star keep saying that nuclear provides 50% on Ontario’s electricity. A lie. That nuclear plants don’t emit CO2. A lie. And this Province has no more hydro electric sites left. Another lie. There have been an endless series of lies about the nukes printed in the Star but the Paper will not bend in its’ efforts to cover up for McGuinty and the nukies. I must say I am baffled. Is Honderich that arrogant to think that he can say whatever he / nukies desire, make like George Bush Jr. and create for the Star its’ own reality? I think Honderich is similar to Herr Harper in that they feel that the public is just too lazy or apathetic to get upset about lying. I have written so many letters to the Star in this regard and never been responded to nor has anything of mine been printed. 4 years ago the paid circulation of the Star was 3.2 million. To-day it hovers around the 2 million mark. You can now get a week’s Stars for $1.59. Honderich is giving the bloody papers away to keep the number up and advertsing rates up . This is a scam and it makes my point. Piss on your customers by printing the nukie advertiser’s copy and readers will bail. Maybe I have been all wrong about this. I’ve got an idea. I’ll just steal from an American newspaper corporation in Chicago, get sent to the pen in Coleman Florida as a common thief and then I’d get a least a half a page a week to cover all my interests in the Post? Black can do it, why not me? The present drill seems to be if you pay enough money to the media, especially the papers you can say whatever you dam well please. Is this what we have come to? A steady diet of lies flows everyday. How will our young people survive if they are trapped in a fairy tale world, concocted by our politicians, business leaders backed by the media? Finding out too late that everything around them is false? In England there is a judical inquiry going on right now into the conduct of their newspapers. Even on the stand and sworn these journoshills continue to lie. It is quite beyond belief. The UK Government has thrown out their toothless, volunteer press council and will form a new body to monitor the press, this one will have teeth. In North America it is too late for the press. For a long time I could not see how the transition to the net would take place but now I have a good idea as to how we could proceed. I have found the recipe for what might be the secret sauce. I will cover my proposed transition from ad media of old to the net, in the next few days. In the mean time I want to lessen the damage the press is doing to our society right now. There is an old saying we might invoke here. INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU INVEST. Do not believe anything you see in the newspapers unless you check for the truth first. Info that doesn’t affect you forget about. If the Sun says black is white who cares, you already know the difference. However, when Ezra LeRant who operates Ethical Oil.org for Herr Harper using taxpayer’s money says OIL is going to go over the Rockies to Kitimat via the Northern Gateway to go to China check the real story on the net. Here is a hint. There will be two pipes lines. One will go west and carry DilBit [ diluted raw bitument mixed with the highly explosive lighter fluid, other chemicals and quartz, rutile and pyrite laced sand ]. The pipe coming east will carry pure lighter fluid to the tar sands to make the raw tar thin enough to be able to pump it back west. It will be an expensive / dangerous system but it suits the oil cartel. The oilies have had to shut down refineries and need cheap raw resources to process no matter how much the public is robbed or endangered. Two considerations, Albertans will be left responsible for all of the filth [ CO2 / tailing ponds / poluted rivers ] from mining the bitumen and yet only be paid for the raw resource. Just like selling raw logs to another country and having all the value added work done abroad in the production of finished lumber and furniture. How can the people of Alberta consider Harper a friend? He is looking to screw them every which way. The second problem, is that sending sand laced tar down a steel pipe is just looking for trouble. I have done a lot of sandblasting metal. Concentrate the nozzle on a spot on the steel and the sand will hole it in a couple of minutes. Oil pipelines were never made to handle sand. What makes it even worse is that the pipeline companies are buying cheap steel from overseas. I have experienced cheap steel bolts from China. They are as strong as cheese. If the Keystone / Gateway DilBit pipe splits because of overheating or is holed by the sands the lighter fluid will spray in all directions. The pyrite in the sand will create sparks like it did for muskets in the old days. In the past there were OIL SPILLS in which something like cooking oil would escape from a pipe. It makes a huge mess and requires an extensive cleanup. DilBit is however a horse of a different colour. The tar slurry will burn profusely. But the lighter fluid, also used in Coleman camp stove guarantees the pipeline will be like a bomb that is well beyond the control of the US oil cartel, TransNotCanada and Enbridge. The cartel, Harper, Girling and Daniel are playing with your marbles. Since your marbles are being played about with do some checking to protect yourself. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could rely on the ad media to give us the complete picture on all of the important issues. I have no problem with the US oil cartel looking after business and their stockholders. They must of course obey the laws of the land. I would expect any company to portray themselves in the best light possible but the media owes it to the readers / viewers to demand a high standard of honesty from anyone wanting to rent our trusting eyeballs. The media must say to Pat Daniel, tell big fat lies and you don’t get your copy into our paper or on our TV station nor matter how much money you offer us. This the least the media owes those readers who support with their dollars. If contentious issues are up for discussion those in the media again must pay strict attention to the truth of what is printed or broadcast. The result of such a system is to prevent the dissemination of lies and a wider understanding on the part of the citizenry of the matters at hand. Some years back Herr Harper floated the idea he was elected as Prime Minister. This was another of his lies but the media said nothing. A poll later showed 55% of Canadians believed him. If a simple misstatement like this can influence so many in this Country what is the limit of the damage such propaganda can cause. The damage to our democracy could be fatal if the media just take their cheques from the powerful and go along for the ride. 200 years ago the papers were elevated to a special position in that they were afforded an advantage, FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. The right to say things which might upset the movers and takers. In other words afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted. Ensconsed in this rarified position without fear of authority the media owners over the last 25 years were in no way restricted in their activities. They could continue to fool the public as to their good intentions but cater to the well heeled comfortable class at the very same time. This is called playing both sides of the street. The media owners quietly changed the game to, freedom of the press to sell out to the highest bidder. This new wrinkle suits the politicians and big business perfectly. While seeming to respect the interest of the people the papers manipulate the game for the benefit of the manipulators, themselves and their clients. Thus unchallenged and with the support of the electeds and large businesses the self dealing has reached epidemic proportions. This distortion in the information available to the populous has made the gulf between rich and poor even wider. The media is paid to make sure the insiders have all the advantages and the rest of us get sweet bugger all. A lot of folk have caught on to the media’s game and refuse to play ball by watching or reading. The circulation of newspapers [ as stated ] and magazines is dropping and the sale of new TV sets is falling for the first time since the introduction of the medium. But having the media as we have known it just die, dry up and blow away means propaganda and lies are replaced with no digestible news at all. The net is loaded with truthful information but it is in the connecting of the dots that brings such information into focus. An example is the shocking realization that the once wealthy Alberta has lost its’ market for nat. gas and oil. I have a whole file of reports on a variety of stories. Taken in isolation they have very little meaning but when viewed together a very unpleasant future is revealed for Albertans. You will find nothing about this change of course in the ad media. It is a replay of the subprime situation in the US in 2005, the insiders knew, the media knew but didn’t tell Americans. The financial meltdown 2008 / 2009 cost the little people dearly yet nobody has accepted responsibility and no one has gone to jail. To make matters far worse those who caused the meltdown came back, cap in hand looking for a bailout using taxpayer’s money. Like this takes big, nerve. When is enough enough? Since the crash the media has been paid gross money to fog the whole issue. Paid to spread blame and cause confusion. Lorrie Goldstein of the Sun is particularly good at blame spreading. Washington, under the circumstances had an obligation to take the bull by the horns and cut through all the crap. Like, kind of providing leadership. But the politicans were either in the pay of the banks and Wall St. or looking over their shoulders at getting re-elected. Either way the little people were abandon and to date still are. Goldstein loves sticking it to the little people. As you know I have about 30 inches of newspaper clippings in file folders which go back more than 12 years. I am able to revist comments and events and tie same to the present. I don’t think anyone else has such an archive. Papers used to keep archives but I see no evidence that they still do. I can’t imagine the Star encouraging Johnny Spears to look back to check comments, dates and facts on nuclear. Otherwise he would never be able to write the see nothing, hear nothing and say nothing articles that are so nukie friendly. I have gathered a few recent articles from various people and will highlight their comments then include the truth. Electricity and energy relates to machines. I don’t know of any of the journoshills writing / broadcasting to-day who have any mechanical ability whatsoever. This a clue as to what the media is up to. A doctor is someone who writes about health care and medicine. An airline pilot writes about air travel. In contrast the papers particularly, have scribes who have never owned a screwdriver writing about energyand climate change, the most important issues of our time. So here goes.

Jack is mounting another huge advertising campaign to cause Americans to query the stands of candidates in the upcoming election. [] [] [] The Keystone will actually only create between 2000 and 4000 temorary jobs. The DilBit, raw tar mixed with lighter fluid will go from the Canadian tar sands to Port Arthur Texas where the shuttered Valero / Saudi Aramco refineries are located. Port Arthur is a duty free port where crude oil / finished oil products can be shipped in and out without paying American taxes. More money for the rich, none for the little people. These refineries used to process Venezuelan heavy crude oil but this supply has been cut off because Hugo Chavez nationalized the US oil companies due to abuses. The oil cartel is faced with closing more and more refineries because of a shortage of raw oil. Alberta raw bitumen is a replacement for Venezuelan heavy crude oil. Once in Port Arthur and the DilBit refined America will never see a single gallon of gasoline / diesel from Alberta tar, it is all scheduled to go to China. So the Keystone is all about the greed of the US oil cartel and their determination to support China’s economy all the time lying to the American people. And the media goes along for another paid ride.

HERR HARPER / CONCERNED ABOUT FOREIGNERS INTERFERING IN THE NORTHERN GATEWAY ENVIRONMENTAL HEARINGS — Our Stevie is upset about environmental groups voicing their opposition to this insane plans to pump Dil Bit west through the Rockies and in the second pipe send lighter fluid back east to the tar sands. Harper say he will not tolerate foreigners interfering with the rights of Canadians to decide such issues. [] [] [] It should be mentioned that this pipe line will be built with money from Wall St. and the oil cartel is planning to steal Alberta bitumen, pipe it to the BC coast and have it refined offshore. Although these hearings are going on the cartel and Harper’s Fascist / Conservative Government have bought the media in order to misinform Canadians as to what the hidden agenda is. Harper, wants to ensure that the foreigners who favour the Gateway pipe line are heard and their money respected. On the other hand the foreigners who oppose the pipe line are to silenced. Ontario paid to put Alberta into the oil business in the 1940s / 50s / 60s. The Feds forced me and millions of other Ontarians to buy only Alberta oil and pay a premium. Quebec was permitted to still buy cheap / offshore oil from the middle east. In 1973 the US oil cartel tried to muscle the Arabs into lowering their prices by picking them off one at a time. just like Alberta. Another nervy grab for bigger profits. The Arabs formed OPEC to gain strength in numbers. The Wheat Board had a sort of OPEC like association going. But now Herr Harper wants the farmers to have to deal on an individual basis with the multinationals. Every thing old is new again. OPEC cut oil supplies and threw North America into a panic. Gasoline was in short supply especially around the perimeter of the USA, areas which were supplied by tanker. Alberta oil was being shipped to Cushing Okla. and Ontario. This distribution pipe line system could not be easily coverted to supply a larger area of the US. So there were places in the States were gasoline wet and others were dry. After a few months Saudi Arabia realized that if OPEC destroyed the American economy there would be no place to sell Arab oil and THEY OPENED THE TAP. There was a realization by North Americans that we were vulnerable and that our dependence on oil controlled by foreigners was our achilles heel. Moves were made to cut down on oil use. Ottawa took notice and prepared for another possible oil interruption and the NEP made sense. All for one, one for all. But the US oil cartel, not used to having governments tell them what to do recruited Ted Byfield and Preston Manning, intolerant bigots to fan the flames of so called Western alienation. The bases for this campaign of misinformation was the myth about the NEP which to this day stands. A tribute to a captured and subservient, oil supported press. One 36 ” to carry tar mixed with lighter fluid, sand and various chemicals. The other pipe, 20″ will carry lighter fluid shipped in from Asia back to the tar sands. So it is a loop system meant to extract the raw tar from Alberta and send it off shore for refining where all the money will be made by the US oil cartel. Albertans will left to clean up the filth and get peanuts for their bitumen. BC will face monumental enviromental risks with tar and lighter fluid being transported through the Rockies inside pipes meant to carry oil. I have been a mechanic all my life. Pushing DilBit containing sand through a steel pipe is not going to fly. In terms of the sensors to warn of a rupture they will be eaten up by the sand, just worn away. A break could occur and Daniel would never know about it till there is major damage done to people and the environment. Enbridge has been trying to send DilBit, on the QUIET through various of its’ oil pipelines and many ruptures have already taken place. And and in spite of this Pat Daniel has been voted top CEO by Godfrey’s National Post. The man seems to me to be more a criminal that anything else. Cattaneo is now saying the keystone will create 600,000. The Post should get an award for publishing lies and fairy tales. Russ Girling told the US Energy Board that the Keystone would provide between 2000 / 4000 temporary jobs in 2007. In 2011 that number had climbed to 20,000, mind it did include a few pole dancers to entertain the boys. Within weeks it was up to 50,000 jobs. These jobs multiply faster than rabbits. Then we hit 100,000, next was 200,000 which quickly turned into 400,000 which was closely followed by 500,000. Now Claudia say 600,000 jobs. If this keeps up the American unemployment rate will fall to zero. The whole Country will be working on the Keystone. Herr Harper, Republicans and the right will say anything that comes into their heads. Bush Jr. blazed the trail. His staffer said of the President, we CREATE OUR OWN REALITY. Rots of ruk folks. The NEB, now holding hearings on the Gateway has been put on notice, say yes to the pipeline or Ottawa will say yes for you. If this pipe line is ever built and when it goes south everyone involved in the okay sould be charged with criminal negligence and jailed for life. As well all of their assets should be confiscated, this includes Enbridge. There are 23 million people in the east forced to buy imported oil. You know the kind that Ezra LeRant doesn’t like, my god, unethical. Alberta could refine all of the bitumen in situ using cheap / clean eastern hydro electricity send the OIL by pipe to Toronto, Montreal and the Maritimes. With a spur to Churchill Man. to tap into the world marekt. The icing on the cake is that the Twin Beaver pipe line right-of-way could be used for a nat. gas pipe line to the east as well as Churchill. The Gateway through the Rockies is meant for one thing, feeding the greed of the US oil cartel. The Twin Beaver would mean Albertans get the dough, it would strengthen Canada’ economy, reduce CO2 and ensure all of the jobs stayed at home. I fear that if the Gateway fails to go through Harper and his Fascists will have to give the cartel its’ money back.

Putting a line across Eglinton from nowhere to nowhere is plain dumb. Only a very challenged Robert Prichard could dream up such nonsense. Rob screwed up at the U of T, then the Star and now Metrolinx. Prichard spends all his fouling things up and is then well paid for the doing. And as an encore Prichard he is working on another expensive train wreck, the Airport Link. Now this one will be an expensive doozie on a scale bigger than McGuinty’ ORNGE. We are crazy to put up with the likes of Prichard???

HERR HARPER / NORTHERN GATEWAY PIPE LINE AND HIS IMBECILIC BAND OF NO BRAINERS

I have been scoping Steve Harper since his first days in Parliament . I have been a Progressive Conservative all my life, a 50 year businessman, free enterpriser and a municipal politician. Right from the first time I heard stuff that was coming out of Harper’s mouth, I didn’t like the man. What he said smacked too much of Republican politics in the US. Canadians are a different people, we have a love of Country and we live much closer to the ideals we espouse. The Yankees are forever parading their Constitution about, then they don’t live by it. Their lifestyle involves a lot of self dealing. The law can be set aside anytime it is inconvenient and of course an individual won’t admit to self dealing so the way out is to tell lies. Being an eighth of an inch deep and a hundred miles long, this was one of the first things that Harper learned while sitting on Pastor Manning’s knee. Manning has certainly studied history, especially Nazi Germany. Hitler would say one thing and do the exact opposite once he came to power. The one guy who drove the Fuhrer nuts was Churchill. Winston had this tyrant taped from the time Adolf came to power in 1933. Hitler had gone the revolution route in the 1920s but it didn’t work, he ended up in jail. He resolved to use the democratic process to gain power and then once in control to despense with the rights of citizens. And to drive home his intentions the Fuhrer imprisoned those who disagreed with him and in many case just had the protesters shot. In a democratic society like the one in place in Germany during the 1920s a politican need large resources to make such a campaign look legit while all the time setting a trap. Keep the minds of the people occupied, provide jobs, bread and a warm hearth. German industrialists were disturbed with the union movement in the Country which was being influenced more and more by Stalin. They felt that Hitler would do their dirty work [ think US oil cartel ] and that they could control him. Oops. Once in power Hitler seized most of the assets of the industrialists and had most of them shot. One of the shirts who did most of the money raising for the Fuhrer had his business taken away without compensation and managed to stay alive by hiding in the Black Forest for the duration of the War. Adolf had the money to stage manage incidents in other countries so he could stampede German to his way of thinking due to outside threats. Mind, he never claimed outsiders were flooding into Germany to disrupt the democratic process like the NEB environmental hearings. Harper’s seizure of the Government of Canada follows closely Hitler’s moves. Herr Harper has in his corner the US oil cartel which wants Alberta to continue to be isolated so its’ resources can be pinched. They don’t want to spend any money cleaning up their filthy garbage. And they want control over Ottawa to blunt any regulations which speak to Global Warming. It seems to me the oilies have been doing very well so far. Canadians are not used to dealing with a political system where one party has unlimited financial support mostly under the table ], enough dough to run attack ads continuously and also to buy the allegience of the Post and Sun which only controls 58 out of the 105 major newspapers here. It is breath taking to see when a serious matter comes up a multitude of shills at the 58 papers, how each one follows instructions to the letter. Sometimes in the Post or the Sun 2 or 3 pseudo writers will cover the same story word for word and with a right wing slant. If Goebbels had been able to accomplish this kind of unity of purpose Hitler would have given him a pat on the head. Of the two papers the Sun has more crazies, like Ezra LeRant and Michael Coren. Michael has a new show on FOX North and he was pictured in his new studio. It must be costing Peladeau a ton of money to repaint his one and only studio every day for each show. The Post has its’ own resident crazy, Vivian Krause. When I see someone new writing about important issues in this Country like Climate Change, electricity, energy, tar sands, pipelines et al I hang on their every word. In the right wing press [ Post / Sun ] all of their writers don’t know their asses from a hole in the ground. A few words into a piece and I know they are being coached My habit is to look these phonies up on the net to see what their qualifications are and where they came from. I have always resented people coming from other countries and shooting their mouths off here. We can get into enough trouble all on our very own without listening to Dr. Brian Day, a shill for the American Health Care industy, Sid Ryan and Doug Findley [ I have offered to pay part of their return tickets to the UK on a cattle boat ] and Tom Flanagan, an American draft dodger who hangs out at the University dedicated to Oil in Calgary. In terms of Vivian Krause, an expert in gibberish, I went looking again. Viv has done articles attacking the NDP, David Suzuki and the present National Energy Board. She is paid by the US oil cartel to masquade as a plain old vanilla Canadian worried about things Canadian. Worried about this Caountry my tush. Krause is another light weight paid because she is a lightweight. What she says isn’t worth printing, neither does Conrad Black say anything useful but Paul Godfrey publishes this shit anyway. Did you know that our Viv went to University to study nutrition. Well that of course qualifies her to write about the Gateway don’t you think? She has investigated David Suzuki thoroughly even down to how much he spands at Tim’s each week. Krause is as thick as thieves with the US oil cartel [ and they are indeed thieves ], so it should not be that difficult to get all the current figures. Remember if you want to be misled read the Post or the Sun or watch SUN TV.

Now the Gateway. It will never be built. Pat Daniel, the US oil cartel, Herr Harper and Joe Oliver are having us on. An oil pipeline will not successfully transport tar / chemicals / sand / lighter fluid. The sand is abrasive and will wear the pipe away from the inside as well as tearing the leak sensors to shreds. Once the pipe is ruptured the lighter fluid will blow up, the tar will burn and Pat won’t know a thing about it until half the Rockies has melted. The NEB will never allow it and Christy Clarke, BC Premier had better tread softly in terms of snuggling up to Herr Harper in regards to the Gateway as a way of ducking payment of the $ 1.6 billion refund owed for cancelling the HST. Having a conflagration in the Rockies wouldn’t look good on Clark’s record either. I think Daniel is one of these CEO who is mechanically clueless. The sort that say, ” this is what I want to have done, just do it and don’t tell me “. I think for investors in Enbridge it would be far better to build a real oil pipe line and a nat. gas pipe line east along the 55 th Parallel with one spur going to Churchill Man. [ oil tank farm and LNG terminal ] and the other spur going to Toronto / Montreal and the Martitimes. Enbridge is a large Company with multiple talents. Enbridge investors, why not take on the contruction of the cross Canada electric grid??? As a means of facilitating the Twin Beaver pipelines. It would be far more profitable to transport real oil and upgrade / refine the bitument in situ. That would mean the wealth would go to Albertans rather than for the US oil cartel. The last time I looked I thought we live in a democracy, you know majority rules. Harper has a slim majority in Parliament so he expects to be able to carry the day. The National Energy Board is an arm of the Government and it is carrying out its’ mandate. And yet Herr Harper and Joe Oliver don’t like the fact that so many people want to speak at the hearings. Tough shit, this is democracy in action. This is not Pastor Manning idea of democracy though, wherein the right wing ubermen are in control. If in the end Canadians don’t want the Gateway, it won’t be built. Then NEB will turn down Daniel’s request. If Harper sets aside the NEB negative decision there will be a Constitution crisis, at least there better be if Canadians want this Country to survive Americanization. The citizenry can look down the road with some idea of what is to come. Just look at California, broke and ungovernable thanks to the Republicans and the US oil cartel. Now a small number of ubermen run that State. America, the land of the bankrupt and the enslaved.

In closing a little fiction. If the Gateway is built it will pass throught the valley of the Nechanko River north of Prince George in BC. So the hot [ 150 deg F ] DilBit [ diluted bitument ] pipe bursts either from lousy welding, cheap Indian steel pipe or the hot / cold problem [ too much expansion and contraction ]. Since the spill sensors are of the diaphram type, reacting to a fall in pressure, they don’t work because the soft material has been sandpapered through by the tar / sand / chemicals / lighter fluid slurry. Fortunately the slurry spills out but there is no ignition source to flash the lighter fluid. So the DilBit continues to run into the valley and into the river. The tar covers everything it comes in contact with and the lighter fluid pools. Ever been around when a car crash has taken place? If the gas tank is ruptured the gas just puddles on the ground and the fumes linger. A cloud of gas fumes can grow two of three times the size of the car. 16 [ parts air ] to one [ part gas ] is the magical mix. If the gas fumes and the air reach that lethal mixture and there is some type of ignition source [ the car battery suddenly shorts out, there'll be a boom, quite a big boom actually ]. So the lighter fluid continues to pool in the valley of the Nechanko and the fume cloud gets bigger. Then someone down on the river lights a cigarette there will be an even bigger boom, it will be heard in Prince George. Then the return pipe carrying pure lighter fluid blows up too. The tar begins to burn as do the trees. Both pipes keep spewing tar and lighter fluid and the inferno won’t be stopped until the pipes are shut off at either end and the contents has burned itself out. Pat Daniel will still be in the dark way after the accident because the warning wires will have been fried. Pat and Enbridge will immediately go bankrupt and his gang will head to a south ses island, where ever they have their off shore bank accounts. This post will be seen around the world and it will be copied in letter form and sent to Tor. Star, Globe and Mail, National Post and the Toronto Sun. It will be interesting to see how they will treat my little fictional story. Will they ignore me? Probably they will, as usual.

In a general sense I know more about Ontario’s electrical system than anyone. I have only been studying our KW disaster for more than a dozen years. It is really difficult to watch an old friend die such a slow death and take almost 9 million Ontarians with it. I reacted to Mike Harris, my leader, when he announce the sale of old Ontario Hydro. I have been writing for years about my reaction to Mike, I blew a fuse, trite but apt. As a PC worker in Pickering my people were not happy about the Harris Government’s sharp elbow tactics. Mike won a second majority but just and yet he persisted on his hard right course. I concluded that our Party was doomed unless changes were made. However control of the PCs had been taken over by a far right party machine. It was not the party I had worked to elect over more than 30 years. Harris came to power for two main reasons. Bob Rae had worn out his welcome and people thought they were bringing back the party of Bill Davis. After 4 years of Harris people knew the Government they had installed did not hold a candle to that of Frost, Robarts and Davis. We were suffering from a thousand small cuts as those who controlled the PC machine had NO TIES TO THE GRASS ROOTS AND TO THIS DAY THAT GULF REMAINS. Mike’s determination to sell O H was to be, either a disaster or a golden opportunty. To make amends for all of the sharp elbow measures it seemed that to go big and do it quickly was the way out of the swamp. I urged Harris by letter to fix Ontario’s electrical system not to sell it. I met with my MPP Janet Ecker to drive this suggestion home. Nothing came of my ideas. As Mike’s second term wore on it was clear the PCs were going to bite the dust. Many of my people were not going to vote for the other parties but they were just going to stay home. Harris finally got the message but our machine was impotent. Not capable of making a quick 180. It was and is an impossible task to make nice with PC supporters in a short space of time to try and make up for years of neglect. So not wanting to have a defeat on his historical record Mike turned tail and took off. Poor Ernie Eves was left to take the hit. Ernie is obviously very slow, he didn’t see the train coming down the track even though the whistle was wailing away.

I felt a little guilty about pushing Mike to fix the electrical system because I DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF. I was schooled to approach elected officials to request that they deal with one problem or another. In to-day’s world it is still the same. But I determined in this case to open the nuclear can of worms and seek solutions. That process has been ongoing ever since. If Harris was in power to-day I COULD TELL HIM HOW TO ACTUALLY FIX THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I made this offer to John Tory when he blew our chances of reelection because he has no natural sense of politics, much like Joe Clark. I said, ” John, offer to fix the electrical system and you can write your own ticket “. As a leader he was like a damp fuse which sputtered out. Four months into McGuinty’s term I wrote to the Preem offering my KW expertise even though I was a PC. But for 8 years now I have gotten nothing but the back of the hand from the Liberal machine. Firstly, they never realized the enormity of the problem being caused by expensive nukie KWs. If you are trying to run a fish and chip shop and you are paying 8 times what your competitors are paying for potatoes under normal conditions you are soon out of business. McGuinty didn’t force the nukies to practise good business habits but subsidized their thefts from the Provincial treasury. With no understanding of the system the Lib. machine saw opportunities to score votes by manipulating things. Closing the coal plants was bungled. Dwight Duncan tried to scare the ratepayers with phony blackouts to stampede them into buying more nuclear. Toronto Hydro is trying to use the same scare tactics to extort money from Torontonians. If I take over as KW Tsar, my first move would be to seize control of Hydro One. That is the key to renewal. Then I will fire the entire management team of Tor. Hydro. McGuinty tried to buy votes again with his Green initiative but if you know nothing about the mechanical makeup of the system every move just makes thing worse and that is what is happening. Can you imagine a surgeon starting to cut into a person without having made a single test. Our electrical system is melting before our very eyes and we are eventually going to melt with it. I have urged Ontarians to write to their MPP with their concerns and questions. This initiative has several purposes. It is my hope that enough Ontarians will get off their duffs and throw a scare into the Lib. / PC MPPs for a change. We could have an election at any time so in terms of the system McGuinty has done about as much damage as he can do. Our KW utility is now in an automatic death spiral of its’ very own and all the king’s horses and all the king’s men will not be able to put it together again. McGuinty, the nukies and the Ministry of Energy are aboard a sinking ship of which they know nothing. Chris Bentley said the other day he has no easy answers and he is right. What Bentley doesn’t have IS ANY ANSWERS. I have posted comments on this subject in the past two years and my approach hasn’t changed. We are very fortunate in that the hydro electric assets [ installed and potential ] that made Ontario the economic engine of Canada are still in place. The snow and rain still fall and the rivers still run. Back a half dozen years ago the demand here was 25,000 MWs a day. Dwight Duncan in an effort to push the ratepayers towards nuclear tried to run thing as close to the edge as possible. He could not afford a major blackout, this would have scuppered the Liberal Government. But a few blackouts here and there which could be made to last by a slow response would do the trick. Duncan closed some hydro plants. But the high cost of nukie KWs has driven manufacturing out of the Province [ with the loss of jobs ], the economy has slowed and conservation practised by individuals [ no thanks to McGuinty ] has had an affect. Recently the max demand was running 19,000 MWs so the nukies have had to shut down even more cheap / clean / Green hydro power to cut output. Sometimes the nuclear plants are churning out more than we need and McGuinty is paying the Americans to take the KWs off our hands. At this very moment Bruce Power is loading up one of its’ idle reactors with uranium readying it for startup. We will be paying the Americans to take all of this juice because Bruce has a guaranteed contract. They generate KWs, we pay them a set price which guarantees a profit then sell the stuff to the US at a loss which comes right out of your wallet. What a way to run a railroad. I think the Liberals know they are toast and that the next Government will be saddled with the mess. After taking over Hydro One I will light up every hydro plant in the Province. Once the output is secure I would begin closing the nuclear plants. The remaining coal plants would continue to operate. I would change from a demand cycle to a hydrogen cycle in which every surplus green KW will be parked in hydrogen batteries. I would convert all of the municipal utilities to citizen Boards of Directors with more hands on control. All private businesses having any connection with our electrical system will have their contracts reviewed, two things will be considered. If their involvement benefits the system and if their’s is some kind of sweetheart deal cooked up by the Harris Tory insiders or the Liberal insiders. I would think most such contracts will be breakable because those involved will not want the details as to how they screwed the public to be made public. This renewal will begin as soon a 55 MPPs, any stripe, vote to set up an all party committee to fix the electrical system. This approach has the advantage that those 55 MPPs can bring forth legislation to change any deal that prevents the renewal of the system to go forward. No matter how smart the lawyers were who drew it up. Ontario will move to community centred electric generation. Each municipality will be assisted by Ontario in inventorying their assets. Some will need power from Hydro One, some will need KWs on occasion and other will be able to stand alone. The benefits of generating their own power will accrue to each municipality. This will take a load off our transmission system which the nukies would have us believe is ancient and in need of replacement to the tune of billions [ they can find more ways to pick our pockets ]. Right now Ontario has hydro power to produce 27,000 MWs [ installed and potential ]. I would estimate there is another 8,000 MWs to be had. This is a way more than we need especially with the move to community based generation. This surplus could be sent to the tar sands along with KWs from Newfoundland [ Lower Churchill ], Quebec [ James Bay ] and Manitoba. All of this clean energy will do a Mr. Clean job on the tar sand and truly turn it into the oil sands. This hydro would allow the upgrading and refining of the bitument in situ. Albertans would benefit from a royalty regime based on the higher value of value added products. In a sense we would be going back in time to a barter system. The east would send surplus hydro KW west. Based on this hydro Alberta could develop a low cost, secure and dependable production process. The east would become a market for Alberta oil and natural gas and access to Churchill would be the path to the world market. Renewal of Ontario’s electrical system could have far reaching affects, least of which would be reviving the Province monetarily. We can go Green, make money and in the doing work with the other provinces to maximize their energy potential. All Canadians would benefit through the cooperative approach, a new NEP, National Energy proposal. Trudeau had the right idea. When one looks at Confederation it is clear that the demarcation of jurisdictions now favours the provinces. They control energy within their borders. Who would have thought that energy, once never thought of, readily available and cheap would now be king. By mixing and matching the assets that each province possesses the value of each is greatly enhanced. In a Canada where the provinces cooperate Ottawa becomes the weaker partner. I would create an internet division at TVO and call it the Ontario News and Information web site. This group would deal with Government matters pertaining to energy, conservation, highways, roads and the conditon of same, health alerts, emergencies and important news items with a link to Queen’s Park. ONI would also do investigative journalism and study important matter in depth. Reports would make use of the Universities to produce honest copy and assessments of pressing public matters. Regular town hall meeting would be held to give Ontarians the opportunity to express their concerns on matters close to home. Queen’s Park could be highlighted as regards the responsibilities of the sitting members and also the duties of citizens in a vibrant society. I do not see ONI dealing with regular news, sports, politics or contentious concerns best left to the Legilature

So Ontarians, where we go from here is your call. You live in a riding, we have an election process, the winning MPP is sovereign, is not answerable to any political machine and with his / her fellow MPPs governs this Province. The joining of the citizenry and the elected representatives means the sky is the limit. Churchill talked about the sunny upland slopes being the reward for defeating the Nazis. Your sunny upland slopes await you taking seriously your responsibility as a voter. They say an educated voter is tops. Now is not the time to rest on your oars.

The truth about the Keystone / Gateway pipe lines is so critical in respect to instructing Canadians as to the negatives and positives of these projects. But they are trying to put one over on us. I was awaken to the Keystone when the protesters gathered in front of the White House. Daryl Hanna, one of my favourite actresses was in the crowd. I am heavily involved with electricity, energy and all things Green. I have been saving clippings on these subject for at least a dozen years. This effort has taught me just how much the old line media lies, confuses, spins, publishes propaganda and generally tries to make the little people as anxious as they can. My immediate reaction was to start saving articles from the Tor. Sun, Nat. Post, Globe & Mail and the Tor. Star. In terms of the Keystone and more latterly the Gateway pipelines everything in the 4 papers is a lying of the first order. This is nothing new. For year the Toronto Star has acted as the nuclear cult bulletin board, printing false and misleading copy plus lies. No amount of effort on my part would change John Honderich’s practise of misinforming Ontarians for money [ actually ratepayer's money ]. Nuclear power ruined Ontario’s economy and the Star helped in the destruction. John’s copy in this regard was /is a mish mash of technical gobbledygook right out of the nukie public relations handbook. For example nuclear plants do not emit CO2. They surely do. Almost as much CO2 as a natural gas plant. In the Global Warming debate it is beneficial to the nuclear industry to claim clean hands and the ad media is paid to do just that. When the Keystone made the headlines the American Petroleum Association announced a HUGE MEDIA BUY. This could and did only mean one thing. The media was going to be paid to accentuate the positive on oil and eliminate the negative. And that is exactly what has happened. 125 articles later the same baloney is being regurgitated by any and every right wing writer who is still breathing. Goebbels said if you repeat a lie often enough the people will eventually accept it as the truth. Okay in Nazi Germany but ridiculous and frightening in Canada. In most issues, particularly in the Sun and Post, 3 or 4 journoshills will all be saying the same thing. And this goes on night after night. It must be costing the US oil cartel a ton of money to avoid picking up a broom and dustpan and cleaning up the filth. That’s all I want. For God sake cartel clean up your mess. The cartel has never bowed to governments before and apparently is not about to do so in the present situations. But only if WE BACK DOWN. The oilies are spending their time in a temper tantrum, saying we won’t clean up, we won’t clean up. The environmenntalist are also stamping their feet saying close down the whole shebang. Neither side is going to win in the end because the middle way is the way to go. And this is the solution the media won’t touch. Almost all of the coverage of the two pipelines is cartel friendly. Money talks big when the likes of the Sun and the Post will soon be out of business. Say anything you want, just send your cheque to Peladeau and Godfrey. The limited copy in the papers dedicated to the pipe line protesters portrays them as being kooks. The oil cartel owns the old media which is losing the battle for eyeballs. In the last 4 years Sun circulation has dropped 27% and the Post has dropped 26%. Both papers have been laying off staff and cutting corners to make ends meet. These papers are becoming anorexic. At this difficult time for them Herr Harper, the Fascists and the US oil cartel come along wanting to pull the wool over Canadian’s eyes. The problem for the oilies is that the net now owns the people, not the old line media. The elites in fact can say anything they want no matter how far fetched it is and Paul Godfrey and Pierre Peladeau will print it. I am sure these two men would drop their pants and bend over if asked to do so. I would love to find out how much the Sun and Post are being paid to run Canada onto the rocks? While we are at it how are journoshills like Terry Corcoron, Rex Murphy, Lorrie Goldstein, Ezra LeRant, Jack Mintz, Andrew Coyne, Lorne Gunter, Vivian Krause and the like paid? I think the oilies and various other energy interests send out lists of things to say. After a month the pesudo writers make copies of the number of times a certain info bit was used and lo and behold a cheque arrives. One oilie copyist admitted he didn’t have a clue about pipelines. He is the best kind of writer for the cartel to engage. He can recopy lies and not know what he is saying is just oil piffle. Can Canada survive on a steady diet of US oil cartel piffle???

We have 105 newspapers in Canada. The Sun has 44 of them and the Post 13 [ total 57 ]. And Maclean’s. These publications are in many of our big cities. They publish a little news, a complete panorama of right wing views, cheap boilerplate [ wire service copy *** Daily Telegraph, Reuters, Bloomberg, Associated Press, New York Times, Agence France Presse etc ], right wing fronts [ Fraser Inst., C.D. Howe Inst.,Preston Manning Inst., Montreal Economic Inst., ], University of Oil in Calgary and advertsing. One can buy either a paper or the mag, go through them completely and be no farther ahead except for getting another dose of right wing ideology. Just like in the 1930s in Nazi Germany. They constantly push the idea of smaller government [ fewer meat inspectors ], lower taxes [ for the rich and big business ] and a reduction in programs [ Medicare and things that affect the middle / lower classes ]. It is interesting how many ways this objectionable material can be packaged. Added to the mix are two web sites that are run out of Herr Harper’s office. Ethical Oil.CA and Honest Reporting.CA. The Honest Rep. scam list all the very writers and reporters who are telling US oil cartel lies. Even Steve Paikin makes the list. If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny. A whole pile of Canadian turncoats lying for money and undermining our beloved society. To see what the future holds for this Country under Harper look no further than California. The oil cartel funded the Republicans under the table to rig elections in the State and now the minority on the right rules. The State is broke and ungovernable. Californians no longer live under a democratic system, the will of the majority can be thwarted. In Wisconsin the Republicans rigged the last election and the new Governor, Scott Walker started to implement his right wing agenda. The people there are now in revolt and more than one million of them have signed a petition to have a recall election, only the 3rd in US history. More people have signed the petition than voted for Walker. Beam forwarded, the same fate awaits us under the Reform / Repbulican / rabid right.

So I am going to do another Spratley and make it simple, let’s cut to the chase. The US oil cartel is in deep trouble. The push for Green energy is taking place everywhere around the world except in North America. The oil cartel is spending tens of millions with the media here to hold back the hands of time. They are the buggie makers of the 2000s. The cartel used to own or control 70% of the world’s oil and most of the globe’s refinery capacity is theirs. Now the cartel has less than a 10% share. They have refineries that are sitting idle which need raw petroleum product to remain operational. This MUST come cheap and the oilies won’t accept responsibility for the filthy mess they leave behind. The Alberta tar sands has the potential to give the cartel everything it needs to restart closed refineries in other jurisdictions. The oilies want the tar. The benefits and risks that accrue to others is of little importance to them. That is the reason for the big cartel foola, foola campaign. Herr Harper has been purchased. He has secured a bare majority in Parliament by rigging the election and is working to provide the US oil cartel with what it needs most. Times are desperate for the oilies. A large refinery company in Europe with facilities in France and Switzerland is living on bank loans. Most of their operations are shut down due to a shortage of raw petroleum. One of the world’s biggest refineries [ Hovensa ] in the US Virgin Islands has been closed by Hess Corp. which lost $ 1.3 billion in the last 3 years. The company say demand for gasoline has dropped in the USA and there is competition from refineries in Asia which have access to raw petroleum. So any talk by Girling and John Boehner about the Keystone being important to the security of the USA is pure hogwash. The Keystone pipe line would take bitumen in raw form and send it to Port Arthur, a duty free port where there are idle refineries owned by Valero [ the Company is trying to recind the California Clean air Act ] and Aramco [ owned by Saudi Arabia ]. The pipe [ 36 " ] itself has been designed for crude oil only. Rather, what will be pumped to Texas by TransNotCanada [ a US Company by the way ] is 60% raw tar, 10% chemicals with a pinch of sand and 30% lighter fluid. Due to the sand the friction will cause the pipe to run at 150 deg F. You will not be able to put your hand on it. The tar will burn, the sand will create sparks and this is an ignition source. You know what lighter fluid does. Russ Girling doesn’t have to tell the Canadian / US Governments what he is sending through his pipe lines. It is a trade secret. This is why 125 newspaper articles do not mention bitumen diluted with lighter fluid. This pipe line will be constructed using Wall St. money and the diluted bitumen will be the property of the US oil cartel. In this regard the ad media makes money to bury the truth and tell everyone that this is a Canadian operation. The Northern Gateway pipe line is even worse. It will carry the same bitumen slurry mixed with lighter fluid through the Rockies in a 36 ” pipe to Kitamat. What we can expect is a repeat of the towering inferno. What makes the Gateway even more dangerous is the return 20 “ pipe going back to the tar sands will carry pure lighter fluid to thin the heavy tar. Naptha [ Coleman camp stove fuel and lighter fluid is more highly refined than gasoline, it is more explosive than gas ] is normally transported in sealed tanker trucks for security and safety. I have renamed the Gateway. I call it the Bunsen Burner pipe line. B B for short as in boom boom. It will be boom boom which ever pipe goes up first. I won’t even charge Patrick Daniel, CEO of Enbridge for the name idea. But I would say this if the Keystone or the Gateway are built and a blow up occurs on either I want Daniels or Girling and Herr Harper and Joe Oliver charged with criminal negligence and jailed for life. The reason I am concerned about what these men are proposing is that it doesn’t have to be done this way.

Hydro electricity has to be brought west from Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba along a cross Canada electric grid above the 55th parallel to the tar sands. This clean / Green power would run all of the machinerythere, the processing of the tar and centrifuges to remove the chemicals used in the process from the water so that it can be reused, [ a closed water system ] [ nor tailing ponds and no poisoned rivers ]. Green KWs would run the upgraders and refineries so that the tar is turned into value added oil products right on the spot. Albertans would get royalties based on the price of the end product oil. This oil could be sent east through the Twin Beaver pipe line either to Churchill Manitoba or down to Toronto, Montreal, NB, NS or PEI. Oil is in itself a lubricant and runs cool. Such an oil pipe line would facilitate another line to harvest Alberta natural gas and send it over the same route. Two pipes for the price of one. Churchill is a deep water port and an ideal location for an oil tank farm and a LNG terminal to service the world market. Eastern Canada would get home grown oil and gas instead of importing it and Alberta would have access to outside markets. Either we let the Yankees pick our carcass clean as Harper would have them do or become a self sufficient energy superpower in control of our own destiny?

I can’t believe we are talking such mechanical nonsense about the Keystone and the Gateway. What is being proposed by Harper is to dig up the bitument, transported it to a mixing facility, force the slurry into a pipe, consume energy sending the lighter fluid DilBit mix 1700 miles, then refine it at some distant / foreign location. Whereupon the gasoline will be transported to China. If there is any market for the gas at all??? China’s economy is slowing and cars sales are falling. All of the filth will be left in Canada by the cartel for OUR taxpayers to cover the bills. With no market for their oil or natural gas and a pittance from raw tar royalties Ontario will have to bail Alberta out once again. Shades of 1947. This whole crazy scheme better be thoroughly mapped out as to how much CO2 will be created in total and how the environmental mess will be looked after. The only reason for these pipelines is pure greed and the survival of the US oil cartel. The people involved including Harper obviously have no concern for Canadians or Americans nor the planet. Do we meekly shuffle through the concentration camp gate without protest? Our men and women gave their lives to fight the Fascists, particularly in the Second War. They must be turning in their graves at the prospect that Canada will fall under the control of Harper’s brownshirts and jackboots.

I have been a lifetime PC, minor worker for our Party in the old days, a Pickering Councillor and a businessman for 50 years. I found it difficult to accept the fact that that crook Mulroney had the ability to destroy the PCs nationally by waiting till the last minute to run away. Brian was very unpopular 4 years into his mandate and we should have been able to force him to comit to run or leave. Mike Harris did the same thing, vamoosing before the voters could have a go at him. I consider Harris one small man, bluntly a chickenshit. Joe Clark had a golden opportunity to rebuild our Party by acting as a baby sitter and encouraging young blood to get involved. However Clark made another one of his political blunders, thinking here was another kick at the cat. Joe along with other old timers refused to take their hands off the tiller. Clark put the blocks to the Party management structure. Thousands of true PCs were left without a home as our head office was closed and shuttered so to speak. Peter Mackay became leader of the PCs on the understanding that there would be no merger with the Reform. But within months Peter gave us an advanced look at what would become the cornerstone of the Fascist / Conservatives, namely lying. Mackay is being touted as the next leader of the reform / Republican / rabid right. That has a certain ring to it, the RRRR Party, sort of revival of the Klu Klux Klan. Mackay went back on his word wherein he promised during his leadership campaign to refuse to merger with Herr Harper and the Reform. Of course Harper has been telling lies for 30 years and getting away with it for just one reason. He is funded almost totally by the US oil cartel as is the Alberta Wild Roses Party. Grass roots parties they are not. Oil parties for sure, something entirely new to Canada. During the last 5 years Harper has had 3 times the number of political donors than the other parties combine. But in the last election Herr Harper only got 39% of the votes. There were a lot of people who donated to the Fascist /Conservative Party who didn’t vote. Strange math. Although I have written about this over recent years the media won’t touch this one with a twelve foot pole. Attack ads apy too well. The US oil cartel paid / pays for Harper’s keep as they did the Republicans in California. The right wing US Supreme Court ruled recently that corporations can give candidates as much money as they wish. To deny them this option is to infringe on their right to free speech. So the Americans have had the best Government the banks, Wall St. and the oil cartel can buy. Why are we bothering with elections??? Mackay being a consumate liar himself will fit right into Harper’s shoes. The US oil cartel has been stealing Albertan’s birthright for 30 years and the people there don’t even realize. The Trudeau / National Energy Program was formulated by a Prime Minister who had the whole Country’s welfare in mind.Can you imagine a PM who governs for all the people? The back story of the OPEC oil boycott of 1973 is that it was caused by the US oil cartel’s attempt to muscle the Arabs and force them to takes a reduction in the price per barrel. Just like they did to Stelmach. The Yankee oilies CAUSED the crisis. This is the same oilie crowd that is now trying to steal Alberta bitument for next to nothing and refine it outside Canada. Once the OPEC boycott shock had taken its’ toll across the US the Saudis realized that if America’s economy was forced to its’ knees there would be no market for Middle East oil. The Arabs would be back sitting in their tents in the desert. The Saudi Arabians turned the tap back on. Things began to return to normal in the US but there were many who began to look for ways to reduce the Country’s dependence on foreign oil [ alternative fuels / wind / solar / hydrogen * electric vehicles etc ]. The price of gasoline gradually rose during the 1970s. While the cost of crude did go up for the oil cartel themselves, they used the turmoil as a cover to rake in extra profits. The oilies have been manipulating prices for 75 years by fabricating bogus shortages. As the cartel is doing to-day. The oil business was lightly taxed in the 1970s and benefited from generous Gov. subsidies. The USA from 1961 to 1979 was in deficit and cartel profits were unbecoming. Congress became concerned that there was a huge redistribution of wealth going on from drivers to the oil cartel. So an excise tax was imposed by Congress. This was a time before the oil cartel had purchased Senators and Representatives. Canada did not fare badly during the OPEC crisis because the Arab embargo was very selective and the Alberta oil pipe line distribution system to the US could not easily rejigged quickly to meet the shortages caused by the boycott. But the US oil cartel had been awakened I am sure to the possibility of future disruptions. Congress had changed the rules and other ways had to be found to ring extra profits even during a time when some North Americans might be hurting. If another oil crisis ocurred the oilies would be better prepared. A similar attitude also prevailed among the US banks and Wall St. during 2008 / 2009. They engineered making money when things were going up and they made sure to make money when things turned down. And they did this and are still doing so. In all of these activity the oilies, the banks and Wall St. were / are aided by the ad media which is prepared to screw the public in every which way in return for cash. In 1979 the Iranian Revolution disrupted oil exports and panic set in again. It seemed clear that there would be a repeat of the 1973 turmoil. Then in 1980 the Iran / Iraq war started and this further exacerbated oil market problems. The way was open for the US oil cartel to ship the bulk of Alberta oil production to the States if they so wished and if there was any left over Canada would have to pay world price as determined by the cartel with reference to the new American excise taxes factored in. Let Canadians pay for the extra tax. No, no, no said Trudeau. In Canada we practice give and take. This take, take, take, take only, doesn’t cut it here . It was to be the usual Yankee coin toss. Heads we win, tails Canada loses. It has to be remembered that Ottawa and Ontario funded Alberta’s move into the oil business [ Leduc 1947 ]. This was when Alberta was a have-not, no money, no oil infrastructure and no oil market. Based on OUR support one might think that in view of this kind of support Canadian provinces would back one another up in a time of crisis. Trudeau introduced a Canada FIRST policy wherein only surplus oil could be exported by the cartel to the US and the PM set the price of oil in line with measures put in place by Congress. In this time of crisis naked oil greed was not appreciated. The US oil cartel was not used to governments messing in their business. Washington had allowed the 7 big US oil companies to form a cartel [ illegal in the US ] in the 1920s to make it easier to wrest control [ steal ] the Arab oil fields from Britain. The members of the cartel are a real swell bunch of fellows who base their operations on paying as little tax as possible and using every angle to maximize profits, even if it requires buying politicians or lying or cheating or stealing or all of the foregoing at one time. As is happening with the Keystone and the Gateway This mob activity is alive and well and can be seen on display in Alberta 2012. But back in 1980 the Saudis were quick to react and they boosted oil production, as did an emerging Russia that was happy to grab market share from the Iranians /Iraqis. All of a sudden there was a surplus of oil and the price plummeted. The US cartel was most unhappy with the general turn of events and reacted to Trudeau’s meddling. Ted Byfield, a right wing, racist, intolerant bigot who published the Alberta Report [ a right wing rant ] picked up on the disatisfaction of some Westerners that the Federal Government was taking measures to protect Canada. One of the givens that applies to right wingers, they are very selfish. Byfield grew up in the USA and was a confirmed right wing intolerant zealot when he returned to Canada. Ted and Pastor Manning put their heads together to take advantage of so called Western alienation. If you continued to pick at a wound it will only get worse. Things will only change if an adult comes along and says stop. The adults who counted in Alberta had all been bought by the oil cartel. Now I don’t think this negative stance against Canada ever amounted to more than 10% of the population. But as Stalin proved during his climb in the Party controlling the newspaper [ Pravda ] was vitaly important. Byfield and Manning began creating a myth about the NEP which was precisely what the oil cartel needed / wanted. The oilies could not easily attack measures being put in place to protect Canadian interests. So here very conveniently were a couple of Canadian Quislings quite prepared to sell their Country down the river to gain wealth and political power. Steve Harper joined them. This was a replay of American money politics not seen here before. Money comes BEFORE COUNTRY. The cartel reasoned that if Albertans could be soured on Canada and become estranged, the oilies would then be the only game in town, putting them in control. No big brother could be called in. When Premier Ed Stelmach tried to boost Alberta’s oil royalty the oilies beat up on him with the Reform, Republicans, rabid right cheering them on. Getting Premier Ed to retreat embolden the cartel, Keystone , Gateway and the dismantling of Canada now going on in Ottawa are direct results of the bullying tactics. Demonizing Trudeau back then was an easy sell. No Western politician in his / her right mind would back the NEP, nor speak the truth. The oilies owned the Alberta media then as they do to-day. Presently, big oil owns 58 of the biggest paper out of a total 105. US oil company executives Stateside were on side to bash the NEP as well. Why wouldn’t they favour stealing natural resources from the Province? The oilies commit the same kind of theft in every other banana republic they inhabit. The main pitch from the cartel were that our Feds were meddling in the energy sector, a provincial jurisdiction. Albertans apparently weren’t inclined to acknowledge the fact that millions of Ontarians, including me were forced in the 1950s / 60s by Ottawa to buy Alberta gas, at a premium. This to stake them in the oil business. The other part of the myth was that Trudeau siphoned wealth away from Alberta. The Iran oil crisis of 1979 /1980 was short lived. Saudi Arabia and Russia opened the taps wide and suddenly there was a glut of oil on the world market. Of course the price fell across the globe and the price paid for Alberta oil reflected the world price. In 1970 the price per barrel was $ 18 [][] In 1975 it was $ 42 [][] In 1980 it was $ 99 [][] In 1982 it was $ 58 [][] In 1985 it had fallen to $ 26. This was the world price and had nothing to do with Trudeau. He got next to nothing out of Alberta monetarily but the oil propaganda mill in Calgary was able to pin the blame for their depressed oil prices on the Liberals. The financial hit that Albertans took after 1980 had everything to do with their boom town mentality. The money started to pour in after 1973 and the the Iranian Revolution. Apparently the politicians and the oil company execs didn’t ask a simple question, is this bonanza going to last? The spending spree began and then suddenly the price was in free fall. Nobody could have foreseen Russian joining the oil producing nations and flooding the market with oil. This rather bold act certainly gained Russia an instant place in the market and it was very good for drivers in North America. But it threw a screw into the US oil cartel and the smaller players in the oil producing business like Alberta. Much of the population in the Province was adversely affected dollarwise. Can you imagine the politicians and the cartel explaining the real reason for the economic downturn Alberta? They had to find a scapegoat and Trudeau was their man. The electeds and the oilies were assisted in branding the Liberal PM as the cause of all the trouble by Preston Manning, Ted Byfield and Stephen Harper. The people who were resonsible for fabricating the Big NEP Lie. This trio pulled off the Big Lie and since that time they have continued to lie about almost everything. And they’ ve gotten away with it thanks to the media. The Keystone proposal is all lies as is the Northern Gateway. With the 1985 Big Lie successfully launched nobody in Alberta had the balls to stand up for Canada. I am sure many knew the real story but they hid under their beds. The Big NEP Lie has caused irreparable harm to this Country by dividing east and west based strictly on oil cartel money. This chasm was caused by politicians like Manning and Herr Harper with unlimited financial support from the US oil cartel and a bought media. I am sure there were people who knew this was all a lie but like to-day, the media succeeded in silencing counter comment for money. Many of the right wing writers of to-day got their training under Byfield and Manning. Herr Harper is one of their graduates. Michael Coren, Mark Steyn, Karen Selick, Ezra LeRant, Andrew Coyne, Kevin Libin, Ken Whyte, Colby Cosh, Loren Gunter and the rest were all given their start. Their Byfield / Manning relationship was very much like a cult environment and had little to do with the feeling of real Westerners. These were and are paid propagandists. The audience for Ted’s Alberta Report and his army of small minded, far right scribes amounted to about 2% of Albertans. But this movement and the Reform Party came to the attention of the US oil cartel. When Ottawa started more recently to make noises about Global Warming the success in gaining control of Alberta’s affairs in the 1980s prompted the oilies to fund Herr Harper’s grab for Ottawa. It was seen that the proceedure used by the cartel to finance the Republicans under the table to take over the California State House could be made to work again here. 34 million Californians have lost their democracy. Now the 20% on the right can thwart the will of the majority there. The State now finds itself bankrupt and ungovernable. The Government doesn’t have enough money to function. Their educational system is now being starved for funds and prisoners are being released from the jails because there isn’t the money to maintain them. The Republicans don’t care, they are happy to run things without having the majority opinion to worry about. Harper is now testing that policy. The US Repubs are sitting fat with lots of illegal oil money so it is a matter of letting the citizens eat cake if they must. The oil cartel still makes big money from oil in the state and pollutes at will. If Californians are starving or without health care or the air is foul or they are in the streets it is of little concern to the oilies. I have been saying to Canadians for some time, get yourself ready for some California dreaming. Our democracy is being dismantled as was California’s. Harper has loads of illegal oil money. As the pieces of Canada are pulled down one by one Harper can lie as he sees fit. The chorus of right wing shills mentioned above dominates the newspapers to-day paid for courtesy of the US oil cartel. The Post and the Sun are the worst offenders. It just shows how much of our media is controlled by the Americans. Herr Harper opens the door every day to US interests. The US grain companies are already saying that they can’t wait to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE DEMISE OF THE WHEAT BOARD . TAKING ADVANTAGE are the operative words. How much are the American grain companies paying Herr Harper ??? The Conservative rise to power was assisted by both the Liberals and the NDP who were and are right out of the loop. Apparently they too have been taken in by the ad media and believe all the wishful thinking reportage presented. Living in the land of make believe as Herr Harper and the media would have us do is leading Canada into the same swamp where California now resides. The Keystone proposal was a test as to whether the American people would fall for the lies of the US oil cartel??? They didn’t. The Northern Gateway project is our very own test. Will Canadians fall for the lies from the very same people [ the cartel / Manning / Harper ] who bought us the Big NEP Lie???

BARE BONES OF THE KEYSTONE PROPOSAL — Why is this pipe line being built? This type of question is asked every day by people in business. When an opportunity arises, is there more upside than downside? I had a small basket manufacturing firm that operated for almost 30 years. Over that period we fabricated between 50 / 60 thousand Apple Baskets. They were sold mostly in Canada but some went to the USA and Europe. If you visit antique shops you have probably seen one of my baskets which had their origins in Pickering in 1896. Every time we made a new size or added a new colour stain there was much to be considered. So why the Keystone??? This proposed pipe line will stretch from the tar sands to Port Arthur Texas, a duty free area in the US which allows the the oil cartel to bring in crude oil, refine it and ship it out to the world market without paying an ANY American TAXES. An argument can be made that this arrangement is legit. It allows the cartel to grab crude oil anywhere in the world, refine it in Port Arthur and ship the finished oil products back to the world. Even Canada’s east coast. But the USA doesn’t get any tax money from an industry operating on its’ own soil. How many businesses get that kind of a break. This is a double edged sword however. These finished oil products [ gas / diesel / naptha etc ] can’t enter the US from this duty free port. Now it so happens that in Port Arthur are two special refineries [ Valero and Aramco ]. They were designed to handle very HEAVY crude oil that is available in the world especially in Venezuela. A couple of years ago Hugo Chavez nationalized the US oil cartel’s assets in that Country due to a varity of abuses. The cartel strong arms everyone, including poor Ed Stelmach. Venezuelan HEAVY crude went to Port Arthur but doesn’t go there any more so the refineries have been shuttered. The US oil cartel is hurting these days. They own most of the refinery capacity in the world and used to own / control 70% of the globe’s oil. That figure is down to less than 10% to-day. The cartel is hard pressed to get cheap oil these days as they have in the past. The oilies were stealing Venezuela’s oil but got their fingers rapped. The cartel tried to steal Arab oil in 1973 but the newly formed OPEC put the blocks to the Americans. So the oil cartel has plenty of sausage machine but little meat. But then they got a bright idea. Alberta tar if mixed with naptha approximates Venezuelan HEAVY crude. If the raw bitumen can be mixed with naptha and pumped through an OIL PIPE LINE down to Port Arthur. Delivery of this bitument slurry to the Port would restart the refineries owned by Valero and Aramco and the finished oil products could be shipped out to the world market. Valero and Aramco signed contracts with TransNotCanada for pipe capacity. Now Ezra LeRant who operates out of Herr Haper’s office started Ethical Oil.Ca which operates as a charity but is actually a front for the oil cartel. Ezra has tied himself into knots over the fact that the Americans will be forced to buy oil from those questionable Arabs if the Keystone pipe is not put in. It is kind of funny in that Aramco [ which is owned by the Saudi Arabians ] has contracted with TransNotCanada to pump the stolen Alberta bitumen slurry down to Port Arthur for refining. I have suggested to Ezra that he rename his oil cartel front, Ethical Bitumen. Ca. Apparently the cartel doesn’t have to tell authorities what it is sending through its’ pipes. This is considered a trade secret that is beyond the reach of the US Government. This then would allow the cartel to pump an explosive mixture of bitument, naptha, sand and other chemicals through a pipe meant for transporting oil exclusively. There are no regulations to govern the pumping of bitumen slurry [ diluted bitument / DilBit ] through steel pipes. TransNotCanada has already bought the steel pipe from India which means it may or may not meet USA / Can. Government standards for the quality of the steel. The DilBit rupture of an Enbridge pipe line at Kalamazoo Mich. was serious environmental disaster. Pictures of the burst steel pipe shows failure along the welded seam. I am a professional welder. This failed seam shows the pipe was improperly welded. Welding causes the steel surfaces that is going to be joined to become molten. The liquid steel pool flows together and then it is allowed to cool slowly. Sudden cooling can cause embrittlement [ loss of ductility ] and the steel so treasted becomes like glass. Welding done in an open shop or out in the open has to be carefully supervised and the seam has to be normalized [ slowly brought back to its original state via the right interval of cooling ]. If you make a steel rod cherry red and then plung it into a bucket of water it will snap like a piece of wooden dowling. The answer to the original question is that the Keystone is meant to take cheap / raw tar 1700 miles to Port Arthur Texas via an oil pipe line [ not engineered to carry DilBit ] to feed idle refineries constructed to specifically cater to the world market for petroleum products. This arrangement will certainly not make Albertans rich and in the end the filth [ CO2 / tailing ponds / poisoned rivers] left by the US oil cartel may well cost more than the proceeds from selling raw tar. Using substandard steel pipes [ until the metal make up pipe is certified ] for what is an OIL pipe line for use to transport corrosive, explosive and abrasive DilBit endangers every land owner, aquifer and town along the route. Once in Port Arthur Americans will never see the finished gasoline , diesel etc. They can’t, it is actually out of the Country. Taxes and duties would have to be paid if Port Arthur oil products from Valero or Aramco were allowed in. Rather, these will go to China. John Boehner, Repub House leader is lying on two counts. The Keystone will not deliver a single gallon of gasoline to US drivers and therefore doesn’t relate to energy security. Even though the USA is hugely in debt. The Keytone in economic terms will yield little results. As usual the US oil cartel figures to make big profits while letting everyone else take the risks. Russ Girling, CEO of TransNotCanada has been getting a rough ride from the Canadian environmentalists dressed like Americans. They are certainly evil looking. Originally Russ told the EPA in 2007 that the Keystone would generate 2000 to 4000 temporary jobs. This September Girling raised the job number to 20,000 including a few pole dancers to entertain the boys after a tough day laying pipe. Then the number jumped to 50,000, then to 100,000 and then to 200,000. As of to-day in Congress they are saying 500,000 jobs. I want to help Girling with this. I am working with my net people to create a small window in each one of my posts in which Keystone job numbers will appear. This system will be like an odometer. All Russ will have to do is use his cell phone to crank up the numbers of jobs and the numbers will change for the higher. We are working to allow Girling to boost the total to a gazillion if necessary, he can do this with just a touch of a button on his cell anywhere in the world. This will give ME an exclusive. Meaning anyone interested in the latest job estimate will have to come see me. There is a possiblity TransNotCanada could if job numbers go high enough, single handedly solve the unemployment problem in all of North America. Herr Harper thinks of you and your Province Albertans, this way. In a contest between you and the oil cartel Harper is looking to make sure you lose. How much did Harper’s loyalty cost the oilies?

BARE BONES OF THE NORTHERN GATEWAY PROPOSAL — The technical details of the Gateway mirror the Keystone pipe. However there are differences. To operate the Keystone there is need for naptha [ fuel used in Coleman camp stoves ]. The tar sands doesn’t have a lot of naptha. It is shipped by tanker truck from Cushing Oakl. and this is very expensive. The Gateway will be made up of two pipe lines. A 36 incher to carry DilBit to the BC coast and a 20 incher to bring naptha from the BC coast, east to the tar sands. This illegal Asian naptha condensate will come via tankers to Kitimat. Can you imagine a tanker full of Coleman camp stove fuel [ burns like propane ] just sitting of shore. Just one spark and there would be a hot time in the old Town of Kitamat. Such an inferno would probably burn a hole through the Rockies right to Alberta. This piping naptha to the tar sands area in sufficient quantity will eliminate the need to upgrade and refine the bitumen in Alberta. This will mean the the Province will be a supplier of raw tar only and all the value added jobs will be created in Texas, California and China. As stated naptha is highly explosive. It will run alongside the 36″ DilBit pipe which will contain bitumen, naptha, chemicals and sand which contains grains of quartz [ stone age tool material ], rutile [ titanium metal mix ] and pyrite [ provides the spark for muskets ]. These ores are highly abrasive and if brought into contact with a steel surface will wear it away quickly. This is why the clandestine experiments in Alberta, done with DilBit being pump through a steel pipe have proved so disasterous. Ruptures are 4 times the going rate for spills. Both Enbridge and TransNotCanada have been lying to authorities on both sides of the border about the unsuitablitiy of oil pipe lines to carry DilBit. The oil pipes that have been subjected to DilBit flows show that the outside temp of the steel is running 150 deg F or too hot to put your hand on. Having a pipe operating this hot and then having the outside temp drop below freezing bring the expansion / contraction nature of steel into play. You have all seen chimneys on older houses where the brick faces flake off. Once the bricks get porous rainwater penetrates the bricks. In the winter the chimney gets hot and then goes cold when the furnace goes off. Or the chimney freezes, then it is warmed by the sun. It sets up a freeze / thaw cycle and the expansion and contraction of the bricks fractures them. This is the same with steel pipe. Regular oil doesn’t heat up a pipe line, after all it is a lubricant and almost frictionless. DilBit however is like sand blasting. The heating and rapid cooling will put immense stain on the Gateway DilBit pipe. Can the steel, welded joints and seams stand the expansion and contraction coefficient??? If the DilBit pipe ruptures the hot naptha will escape and the sparks from the pyrite will no doubt cause an explosion. This has already happened. A holed DilBit pipe which will burn like a welding torch [ approx. 1300 deg F ]. This burning will continue until all the liquid naptha has burned, then until the heated naptha gas has burned off. Turning valves off at a distance will be of little immediate use. All of the naptha between the valves upstream and down stream whether liquid or gas will have to be consumed by burning and I would suggest that this confligration would be beyond humans to stop. If there is such a confligration, remember right next to the DilBit 36 incher is the 20″ naptha pipe. If this goes up too the flames will begin traveling up / down and melt the steel pipe. The Gateway pipes could become a sort of wick and the fire could travel for miles up and down each pipe with one feeding off the other. This is the worse case scenario but since Enbridge and TransNotCanada haven’t done any testing on the suitability of an oil pipe line to carry DilBit US oil cartel promises are not worth a bent nickel. The other problem for the Gateway tankers [ naptha inbound and DilBit outbound ] is the constant wind from the west.The BC coast is in a constant westerly wind flow Any coast with an onshore wind is deadly for shipping, whether it is BC, the west costs of England, Norway or France. In fact the Spanish Armada was defeated partly because the ships were driven onto the coast of France and Holland by an onshore westerly wind. I was a bush pilot in 1954 flying for White River Air Services owned by Stan Deluce. He is the Father of Robert Deluce the owner of Porter Airlines out of Toronto Island Airport. My mount was a 4 place Stinson 108 on 2425 Edo floats. Docking when the wind was coming off the shore as compared to when the wind was pushing me onto the shore was a whole different kettle of fish. I don’t care how much power these modern oil tankers have it would not be enough to keep the ships off the rocks. Added to the prospect of an old time oil spill would be the explosive nature of the tar / naptha or naptha alone cargoes. You know, the Gateway is just like the Keystone, it is driven by the greed of the US oil cartel, Enbridge and TransNotCanada [ both American corporations ] and the pipe lines themselves will be financed by Wall St. Neither the Keystone nor the Gateway will address Alberta’s lost natural gas market. The province used to make more money shipping gas than oil. Our Herr Harper says Canadians have to be able to make these decisions themselves without foreign interference. What a crock of shit. He is aiming to hand over the future of the tar sands to USA and be rewarded handsomely for the doing. But why even discuss these crazy proposals? Bring hydro electricity from the east [ Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba ] via a cross Country electric grid, along the 55th parallel to the tar sands to run the upgraders and refineries. This grid can be completed by building the link between Manitoba and Saskatchewan without Harper’s permission. On the return trip Alberta’s natural gas and finished oil products can be sent via the Twin Beaver pipe lines over to the deep water port at Churchill Man. to facilitate export of these products and then down to Toronto, Montreal and from there to NB, NS and PEI. Such a system would turn Canada into a low cost, Green energy powerhouse. And make closer relations with England that much more attractive. This Nation would then be a sovereign Nation, able to play a leadership role during these difficult times for many countries. Or we can follow Herr Harper and become a banana republic serving the interests of the Americans exclusively as suppliers of raw materials to keep them secure in the life style to which they have become accustomed. The American are hugely in debt. If you have witnessed the childish play of the Republican primaries you can see who we are dealing with. The Yankees will never accept the responsibility for this financial mess and will be looking to find others to pay the freight. Stealing Alberta bitumen fits in nicely. But this thievery CAN ONLY TAKE PLACE IF WE LET THEM. Your call???

NOW FOR PIERRE PELADEAU — A couple of days ago the Toronto Sun printed the Open Letter from Joe Oliver about the Northern Gateway pipe line. In the same issue was an editorial on Gateway, probably done by Lorrie Goldstein, a noted propagandist who is willing the say anything for money. And as if that wasn’t enough Ezra LeRant covered all the same ground with a few made-up things, a specialty of his. These covered a page and a half and there wasn’t a word of truth in the entire lot. What has Canada become??? Herr Harper lies, his Ministers lie, the PMO lies and the 44 Sun newspapers [ the official voice of the Fascist / Conservative party ], guess what? They lie too. I question Peladeau’s loyalty to Canada? Can Pierre be that stupid that he doesn’t appreciate the damage he is doing to this Country by printing nothing but lies? Or is he just another defective human being driven by greed to do everything it takes to make a buck. Either way he is an enemy of the State and we have to put a stop to his activities. Don’t buy the Sun anywhere across Canada. Don’t watch SUN TV. Boycott the constituency offices of the Fascist / Conservative MPs across the land. Join the local riding associations for ten bucks a pop and take over operations. Majority rules remember. What we need is to have 9 more Fasc. / Conserv. MPs cross the floor and become Independents. If this number rises to 12 a new PC Party could be born. There are hundreds of thousands of pure PC without a haven right now. To help scuttle Harper, a modern age tyrant, I would suggest having a discussion about the Gateway project on the CBC. The Corporation is the only media outlet in Canada that doesn’t lie. Peter Mansbridge could act as moderator. Joe Oliver, Lorrie Goldstein and Ezra LeRant would join myself and my son James to have a chit chat about the Gateway, Keystone and the tar sands. Viewers would be encouraged to send their questions to Peter and the five of us would have to respond cold turkey, no cells or lap tops. This format would take these birds off home ice and put them into a situation where they would either have to answer Canadian’s questions or look like the fools they really are. I am tired of having Joe, Lorrie and Ezra sniping from the shadows without having to face counter comment. So there you are Pierre, put up or shut up. KEVIN FALCON / INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU INVEST YOUR POLITICAL CAREER — One of the sad lessons some politicians learn is to check things out before they commit. Kevin is reported to be supporting the Northern Gateway pipe line and it is not a very bright thing to do. Oil pipelines are nothing new. Natural gas pipelines are nothing new. But pumping DilBit along a pipeline meant to transport oil now that is new. And very dangerous. DilBit is [ diluted bitumen which is a slurry made up of tar, naptha gas, various chemicals and sand ] [ the sand contains quartz, rutile and pyrite used to ignite the powder charge in muskets ]. Of concern to the people of BC should be the mixing of an ignition source, hot pipe operation [ 150 deg F ] and naptha gas [ lighter fluid or Coleman camp stove fuel ]. I believe that the ad media HAS AN OBLIGATION TO TELL BC RESIDENTS THAT PATRICK DANIEL ,CEO, ENBRIDGE IS PROPOSING A BOMB THAT WILL PUSH THE DROP ON HIROSHIMA INTO SECOND PLACE. Here is my suggestion for our Kevin. Set up a steel table on the steps of the BC Legislature. Get 2 old cooking pots. Put an inch of SAE 50 weight oil in one. Put an inch of naptha in the other. Have the pots at each end of the table. Light a roll of newspaper and throw it into the oil. Light another roll of newspaper and throw it in the naptha and see what happens. The resulting inferno will give people an idea of what could happen if either the Keystone or the Gateway ruptures. Anyone or anything close by will be carbonized. After the experiment Kevin should take his words, apologize to BCers and do some homework on the Twin Beaver pipe lines that would take Alberta nat. gas and refined oil product to Eastern Canada with a spur to the deep water port at Churchill Man. to tap into the world market. We don’t need American pipe line companies like TransNotCanada / Enbridge, Wall St. money nor Herr Harper’s employers, the US oil cartel. Having all of the provinces in this Country create their own energy cartel by joining forces would make us the envy of the world. The globe’s first Green energy superpower. Prosperity, here we come.

JUST A NOTE OF THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS — My reason for starting this blog was to try and rectify problems in Ontario and to a lesser degree Ottawa. As you know I feel strongly about the ad media not serving the interests of the PEOPLE. All we get is Propaganda Pablum [ baby food ] and advertiser sponsored spin. What I find interesting is that responses are coming for all over the world. I have given this some thought. I believe human nature is universal. As is the search for truth, peace, prosperity, our rights and our right to express ourselves without fear of those in authority. So many good / bad things flow from these pursuits. Good stories resonate around the globe and lift the spirits of all. Bad news and the efforts to combat same when widely broadcast forearm the masses. To know the enemy and the ways to deal with such evil lifts all boats. My views come from my own experience and my research into what interests me. In every case I am on the hunt for solutions. Rehashing past events is without worth. History is only of value when you can learn from it and make changes. My major concern for Canada is the fact that we are in the grip of those who want to retain the status quo with Herr Harper being the current advocate. The quoers have loads of cash and are ably aided by the ad media. This Country is being left behind and most Canadians don’t even know it. I would like to be someone who helps usher in the bright future which is our due. Churchill in one of his Wartime speeches spoke about the sunny upland slopes that awaited the defeat of Hitler. Those sunny upland slopes await us too but we will never see them if we continued to tarry in this present unpleasant place rendered even more unpleasant by the presence of Harper.

They attack Canadians, the Order of Canada, medicare, unions, social programs, the arts, free speech, the CBC, CRTC, Can. Wheat Board, Can. Nuclear Safety Comm., the Auditor General, Elections Canada, the Senate, Canadian Judges, our Courts, pensions, Pro Choice , same sex marriage, minimum wage, UI, cell phone ban when driving and any other things that doesn’t adhere to the rabid right ideology. All of these people constitute less than 10% of Canada’s population . Remember we live in a democracy where the majority rules and this doesn’t mean a majority in the House of the People. Our system allows the party with the largest number of MPs with over 50 % of the seats to govern [ not to rule or form a dictatorship ]. The key ingrediant in this society IS * THE * WILL* OF* THE* PEOPLE. Governments like Herr Harper, with a SLIM MAJORITY AND LESS THAN 40% OF THE VOTES IN THE LAST ELECTION WHICH SAW 38% OF CANADIANS NOT EXERCISE THEIR FRANCHISE ARE ON SHAKY GROUND IN TERMS OF ANY STRONG LEGISLATIVE PROGRAMS. Solberg’s mindless article in the Sun had the headline, “Now is Harper’s time to change Canada “. Herr Harper was not given a mandate to change Canada in any way. He was given barely enough votes to form a government and he had better respect that or there wil be a Constitutional crisis. Some years back I began the question the slide of California into becoming a have-not-State. How could 34 million have-everything people get themselves into such a financial mess? I discovered the US oil cartel had financed the State Republicans under the table to allow them to take unfair advantage of the political system there. In addition the oilies bought off the media as well. What has emerged is a process whereby the minority 20% can thwart the will of the majority 51%. And the Republicans have put reclaiming their democratic right beyond reach. California is bankrupt and ungovernable. In Canada the US oil cartel is following the very same course. The oilies are slipping Harper big chunks of illegal cash. The media claims he is a great fundraiser. They’ll say anything for a bloody buck. Like the PeeM is sporting thousands of dollars in hockey equipment and the opposition is relegated to playing with used sticks and rusty skates. The voter subsidy was supposed to level the playing field. Harper has done away with the subsidy and the oil cartel has actually bought him the entire playing field. Those who now dominate the pages of our newspapers have their roots in the failed Alberta / Western Reports [ magazines 19 79 ] which Ted Byfield peddled. The circulation was so low that the publications failed. Few people were interested. Ezra leRant tried the same kind of right wing ploy with the Western Standard and he couldn’t make a dime. Again few Canadians were interested in buying what LeRant was selling. In typical Republican style, if you fail, redouble your efforts without changing a thing. All of a sudden we have a whole army of these baboons chirping away. Why??? I will answer my own question. Oil money has not only bought Parliament Hill, they financed hundreds of public relations firms to lobby for the right. Who hire shills who can write, mindlessly but right. As well an endless number of charities have been set up supported by the taxpayer’s nickel to churn out right wing propaganda [ Tom Harris Climate Coalition, MacDonald Laurier Inst, Fraser Inst., C D Howe Inst. Ethical Oil, Canada West, Can. Constitutional Assoc, Canadian Taxpayers Fed., Montreal Economic Inst., Fair Questions.org and the list goes on ]. YOU, YOU, YOURSELF ARE PAYING TO HAVE ALL OF THIS HATEFUL PROPAGANDA CIRCULATED. Going to a Club shop, buying a club and then handing it to the cartel /Harper so they can beat you over the head makes no sense to me. Did you know that the stock value of newspapers across North America has fallen 95%. 300 papers have gone out of business and 15,000 journalists are now on the street [ 20% of the total ]. Hopefully Terry Corcoron and Pete Foster will soon join them. Our friend, the Fascist PeeM has increased Government spending on advertising by a factor of three and this can be added to all the money the US oil cartel puts into advertising. The Can. Assoc. Petroleum Producers [ CAPP ] in Calgary has some doozie advertising. Full page paper ads with a guy hugging an evergreen and a gal strolling down a leafy lane in a golden sunset. The newspapers are scared shitless. Speak out about Harper’s abuses and the offender is off the Fascist advertising list. Like Conrad Black the paper owners now offer kisses up to Harper’s ass every morning. Hitler controlled the press by force. Harper controls the media with Government / oil cartel advertising. The media management also loves the free reportage from the right and has to play along. All of these right wing ranters, HAVE NOTHING IMPORTANT TO SAY like Ezra LeRant, Monte Solberg, Pastor Manning, Gwyn Morgan, Andrew Coyne to name some. But they get automatic front page coverage. I have been blogging for more than 2 years. On occasion I will print my posts on paper and snail mail them to policians, the media and newspapers particularly. I have never had a single post published. Lies and money count for everything. The truth stands for nothing with the media. What we have is a 20% view of things getting 90% of the media coverage. This is the repeat of the media experience in the USA. The media down there, particularly the newspapers saw nothing, heard nothing and SAID nothing about Wall St. theft. I don’t have to explain the result of this failure of duty, it is there for all the world to see. The end of America as we have known it. The US already owes China bigtime. That Country is a success financially and was asked by the Europeans to help bail them out. Since the USA and China have such a close working relationship why not ask the Chinese to come in and manage the Government in Washington. The immediate saving will be the salaries of the members of the House, the Senators, their staffs and a corrupt bureaucracy. This would also smarten up the US banks and Wall St., no more funny money stuff or into the clink Chinese style. The net has the facts and the truth but you have to work for your info. So you have to make a decision. Either you dwell in the land of wishful thinkers where the Harper, the oilies and media wants you to stay and contribute to the demise of your very own society. Or you can dig for the facts upon which you can base your adaptability strategy so important in life’s journey. 16,000 years ago the Solutreans in France faced a critical situation. The ice sheet was melting and the Woolly Mammoth habitat was disappearing from around Paris. The Mammoth numbers were dropping and fewer of them were passing through the Loire Valley where these early people lived in caves and decorated same with beautiful drawings. Early humankind had followed the animals out of Africa when the climate changed. Change had arrived again and the Mammoths began leaving France, travelling along the north shore of the Mediterranean, through Italy, into central Europe, across Russian into Siberia, over the land bridge to Alaska, down the Rockies to the Denver plain and Clovis New Mexico. It took the Solutreans 5000 years to travel 12,000 miles following the Woolly Mammoths. These big game hunter survived, to this day actually. The Mammoths however didn’t make it. It is said that at it’s height the Solutrean population numbered from 35,000 to 40,000 people. A successful civilization that had been around for 7000 years when the move out took place. So if you count from 23,000 years ago till now it is even more impressive. They didn’t have cell phones, computers, the net or pizza and look how they managed. They had to live in the real world, something we are not doing in North America. The Roman experiment lasted for but 700 years. The USA will NOT live to see its’ 300th birthday and Canada won’t get to 150 years the way Harper is going. THE MINISTER OF BANANAS / JASON KENNEY / DEPUTY MINISTER OF BANANAS / RONA AMBROSE — What happen to the idea of the Government of Canada actually governing the Country. All we see from day to day is Herr Harper trotting out his pet peeves and settling old scores. The tar sands is a filthy operation, Canadians know it and the world knows it. No matter how much the US oil cartel pays Harper and how much he wishful thinks they are not going to win this one. Chiquita, an American Corporation is exercising its’ right to create the lightest CO2 footprint possible. The planet is obviously important to the Company and it is good public relations as well. Rona and her boycott of the firm’s bananas, is frankly bananas. I was a Director of the Conservative Riding Association in Belleville for almost 2 years and I wrote to Ambrose a couple of times on the matter of Global Warming [ 2007 ]. These letters related to stupid statements she was making. Nothing came of my suggestions to her and Harper. Garry Lunn was another nincompoop. Getting an inside view of this bunch of clowns caused me to bail. I have great difficulty dealing with people who are mental midgets and who talk about manipulation and indoctrination. I’d say to Chiquita, go your merry way and ignore Herr Harper and HIS BROWNSHIRTS. This is a matter of free speech. If people are going to be attacked by the Harper biased media and bludgeoned into silence then Canadians have a much bigger problem than I thought. I have already spoke about his use of Rev. Can. to intimidate his opponents. Under the circumstances both Kenney and Ambrose should resign. Now Ezra LeRant has gotten into the fray by making disparaging remarks about a Chiquita executive on Sun TV. In a sense this LeRant / Peladeau dust up shows just how unimportant FOX North really is. Up till now only one complaint about Ezra’s outburst has been received by the CRTC. A clue, nobody is watching Pierre’s TV station. Peladeau recently sold off some TV assets and laid off 400 staff. Quebecor has the smell of death about it. If investors in the operation are only reading the newspaper I pity them. Pierre has even lowered himself to the point where he is printing Paul Godfrey’s National Post for him. Talk about the lame leading the blind? They set Ezra loose on this Ethical Oil [ a right wing front ] nonsense. Since the US oil cartel is only interested in stealing the raw tar from Albertans I have urged LeRant to change his campaign to Ethical Bitumen. When Ezra was next let out of his cage he went on a rampage about the CBC. The Corporation holds a special place in Canada these day. An honour to add to its’ well filled trophy case. It is the ONLY MEDIA OUTLET THAT TELLS THE TRUTH IN THIS COUNTRY. When LeRant first started running off at the mouth I couldn’t figure out where this guy came from. His pronouncements were of little value to our society so I questioned , why was he being paid any attention? I have come to realize latterly that all these right wing wing nuts are being employed by the oil cartel and come out of Alberta. The only way the oilie message can make it into the public domain is to have it delivered by a whole slew of village idiots. LeRant was the first rightie I scoped out on the net. Since leaving the University of Lying in Alberta Ezra has made a mess of his life. He has never been a success doing anything. I think he has mental problems. You know, Hitler’s Brownshirts were recruited from the ranks of the jail birds, thugs, the criminal element and the mentally unbalanced. I believe Herr Harper suffers from mental illness. This was confirmed for me when Steve during his time in politics just vanished for a couple of weeks. His constant lying only convinces me more. One thing I do is keep clipping the important stories, especially those on energy. My file keeping goes back at least a dozen years. My readers constantly asking the question,” where do you find all this information “? It is easy. I go back reread the article / articles, scan the net and connect the dots. Having a written history to depend upon propelled humankind forward at an ever increasing rate. We did not have to keep relearning the lessons of our forefathers. Canada is now a Country without a history thanks to the media. The journalists / reporter of old used to dig back and put together stories that might span decades. Now the media tells stories, if they tell them at all and then they’re mostly fiction. There is no reference to last week and no hint of what is coming down the track. In dictatorships the idea is to keep the citizenry ignorant, confused, anxious and always topped up with government propaganda. We are close to that now. Do you remember Gary Lunn. He was the Minister of Natural Resources who fired Linda Keen in the middle of the night to prevent her from testifying before a Commons Committee. Harper said Keen had closed down the NRU reactor at Chalk River because of safety concerns. That was another lie but the media just stayed silent. The CNSC had ordered AEC to add pumps to their system to guard against a possible earthquake. AEC did nothing but the Agency wrote to the CNSC to say the pumps had been installed. Another lie, the pumps were still in their packing crates. Keen’s inspectors were at Chalk River doing regular checks and discovered no pumps. Management at AEC had agreed with the installation of the pumps for safety reasons and one of their people wrote to say,” the job’s all done “. The moment that AEC realzed they had their asses in a vise they cooked up a scheme with Harper and Lunn wherein AEC would actually close the plant voluntarily themselves and Lunn would blame Keen. The CNSC is a very important agency seeing that the people at AEC have been lying about everything for years. It is a wonder that we have not had a serious accident to date. Gary Lunn could not tell the media why Linda Keen had been fired and then he too vanished for two weeks to let the story cool. Once the heat has gone down and 2 weeks passes the media can ignore the story, the people are focused on new bread, wine and circus events. AEC did not install the 2 pumps they agreed to, they sent a bogus letter to the Commission lying about the installation. All of the blame for their mistake and the incompetence of Gary Lunn was shifted to Linda Keen. AEC was rewarded for its’ inexcuseable behaviour by getting an extention on the pump installation. Who knows whether the pumps were ever installed but we will find out if Ottawa has an earthquake. Linda Keen was replaced by a Fascist / Conservative stooge whose only apparent attribute is parroting what ever Herr Harper says and still the media sleeps on. Mind, it a great kind of business to be in even though the press is not long for this world. For doing nothing and saying nothing they get well paid. My difficulty would be kissing the PeeM’s ass all the time. But I am here to tell you how sweet the democratic system is. Gary Lunn got thumped by Elizabeth May in the 2011 Federal Election. I am sure the media has been warned by Harper not to give Elizabeth any coverage. If true it is a shame for the almost 32,000 voters who voted for her in Saanich – Gulf Islands. The dominate right media wrongly trumpets Harper’s so called massive majority. It is a crock. Any shill who says / writes huge majority, shows where his or her cheque is coming from and should be branded an enemy of the people. Harper has 165 seats and needed 155. He has already lost one Fascist / Conservative MP who crossed the floor to sit as an independent. Harper’s new seat total 164. So now we need 9 more defectors. Only former Reformers get to speak on behalf of the government. There have to be at least 100 very unhappy true PC MPs. To utilize his majority Harper needs everybody in the House. If too many MPs go to Mexico to get married as Peter Macay did the opposition could pounce. In 2008 Garry Lunn got 28,000 votes and the Greens 6732. In 2011 the voters of Saanich – Gulf Islands handed May a victory with 32,000 vote, Lunn got 24,500. The turnout of voters was 75%. No voter apathy here Mr. Harper. Cross Canadians and you pay a price. This is an important story about May’s vistory that the media is too timid to cover. Even though Pastor Manning keeps talking about Canada moving to the right what is he says is really rubbish and more wishful think. The people of Saanich gave the deceitful / incompetent Gary Lunn the finger. May gained 26,000 votes. I don’t know if that has ever happened before in one riding. This is the kind of thing the press used to cover. But now it is a matter of dancing to Harper’s tune and tuning out Canadians. I can’t wait for Canadians to tune out the newspapers, they are worse than useless and are a danger to our democracy. There is a strong discussion going on as to the fate of newspapers. In my view they are already dead. It is just that there are still idiots like Peladeau around who are prepared to throw good money after bad. I would advise those who think papers will come back to donate their money to Sunnybrook, at least they’ll get a Ward or elevator named after them. Sinking their dough into a failing papers will only get them into the line at the food bank. The National Post as I have said is 90% owned by Americans which is against the rules of Canadian ownership. Harper has done nothing about this situation and the other members of the media ain’t saying nothing. The’re cowards in the extreme. But you know I am not really that worried. The Post loses money each quarter and has for years. There are no buyers for the Paper so it will go belly up a second time and the Yanks will take a bath. What a pleasant happening. If Pierre Peladeau is allowing Post / Godfrey to get too far in the hole for the printing bill the death of the Post could take the Sun with it. Now that will be a happy day for me. The question is where do we go from here. A strong / free press is important to this democracy. The present press, now in the service of the movers and takers presents a grave danger to us. The internet is like a young bird, still in the nest, that has yet to test its wings. We have to transition from the dangerous place we are in now to the place we need to be. The information flow now eminating [ mostly lies and propaganda ] from Herr Harper and the ad media doesn’t equip us for the journey that we must shortly begin. I have some ideas on how we might proceed to find a new way of delivering information that is dependable and that can actually be used in day to day human activity. Where most of us live. I will cover that subject in the next few days.

JAN CARR / A DANGEROUS INSIDER / GUY HOLBURN / A DANGEROUS OUTSIDER WHO CAN GO HOME / PLEASE — I have had Carr in my sights for some years. Jan first came to my attention when he was perched on the catwalk overlooking the generator gallery in the old Rankin Hydro plant. Carr closed the plant to assist Dwight Duncan in his black out scare campaign. The nukies are still using threats of blackouts. When I take over our electrical system I will fire the lot. Johnny Spears wrote the story for the Star and everything went over his head as usual. You know Spears. He has spent at least 8 years under my tutelage on matters of energy and has yet to learn a single thing. Johnny has written a hundred or more stories about electricity [ mostly ] and has managed to include false and misleading information in each and every one. How does John Honderich tolerate such an incompetent writer, 8 years and he failed every one of my exam??? The answer is that in to-day’s world people who do the reporting rise to the top due mainly to being empty headed. They never challenge the white / right / rich 20%. When Carr closed the Rankin plant he gave two reasons. It was old and in need of repairs. That was a lie. The other reason was the Water Agreement with the USA was running out. Another lie. Here we are 6 years later and Jan is still telling lies and getting away with it. Carr used to be the darling of the Star because he facilitated the Liberal Government’s push to build more nuclear plants. This approach would have seen the nukies benefit and would have opened the public treasury to the private sector. McGuinty’s nuclear dreams turned to ashes during the US financial meltdown of 2008 /2009. Even though the nukies bought King Dalt a house he couldn’t pull the rabbit out of the hat for them. McGuinty made the mistake of using our electrical system as a way to score political points. That’s like trying to use your car engine to heat your coffee. First the Dalt announced the closing of the coal plants. This meant that the nukies would lose back up for their faulty nukes. McGuinty then dragged his feet on coal plant closures. This gave the nukies time to arrange for an alternative back up system, natural gas generating plants which can be built closer to population centres. But burning gas creates CO2 and carbon monoxide. In this regard the nukies don’t care. To maintain the supremacy of their nukes, any back up will do no matter the damage to the health of people. Any back up other than hydro electricity of which Ontario has 27,000 MWs. Our daily use at present is 19,000 MWs. So we have 8000 MWs surplus of Green / clean / cheap KWs that could be transmitted to the Alberta tar sands and still have enough electricity to power the Province totally with all the nuclear / coal / nat. gas plants closed. Water doesn’t need a back up. To this mess of the 5 dwarfs electrical system created by Mike Harris was added the McGuinty green initiative which his keepers thought would win votes. Paying 80 cents per KW was a brilliant idea if the 500,000 jobs had actually materialized. But alas, as we have seen wishful thinking doesn’t cut it even if the media has been bought with Queen’s Park advertising to ensure favourable coverage. Since the days when Harris failed to seize the moment in 2000 to fix the electrical system as I had urged and the failure in 2004 [ onward ] of McGuinty to recognize the dimensions of the KW problems Ontario has continued to stumble electricwise, to our great cost. And it keeps getting worse. The tools to solve the KW problems exist but the supporters of the Libs and the PCs understand at what cost it will be to their insider friends. So your hydro bill has just one way to go, UP. To change that trejectory you are going to have to get off your butt. Your Lib. / PC MPP will be of no help to you because their Party machines won’t let them help you. We need 55 MPPs at Queen’s Park to vote to form an all Party Commitee to begin to reconstitute our electrial system. I have covered this many time. Please remember to send your KW questions to your MPP. This present mess has angered the private sector because they have been waiting to get their slice for years. Friends of the Libs and the PCs have waited a long time for the beanfeast and McGuinty’s misfires have put the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow even further out of reach. Thank heavens. Jan Carr has now ditched McGuinty and the Liberals and realized the best bet for he and his associates [ sharks ] is to back Hudak. So Carr had a piece printed in the National Post entitled, ” Stop government meddling in power “. It is right wing propaganda full of the usual lies. His assistant in this endeavour was a Guy Holburn who hangs out at the Ivey School of Business / U of Western Ont. Guy is not native to this Province and has no understanding of electricity or our needs. Paul Godfey will print anything that is free and comes with a cheque. The Jan / Guy pitch is that McGuinty has issued 56 Directives to the nukies telling them what to do. Oh really. Our electrical system belongs to the people and McGuinty [ for good or ill ] was elected to govern. Who the hell does Carr think he is questioning the conduct of a democratically elected Government even if they have screwed up badly? This is right wing claptrap. The right says that governments has no right to interfere with private business. This is also American thinking. Government in the US has been given a bad name by the Republicans and this message is repeated by most of the media Stateside over and over and over and over. It is a lie. I would like to say to the backers of Jan Carr, the National Post, the Fraser Inst. and TransAlta GO FUCK YOURSELVES. Ontario’s electrical system is surely hurting but we have the tools to fix it. All we need is 55 MPPs with some spine and more of an interest in the welfare of this Province than the Lib / PC Party machines. We will either get the gang of 55 out of the present legislature or we will get them in the upcoming election. There are enough problems in Alberta over the loss of their markets for nat. gas and oil to keep Carr, the Post, Fraser and TransAlta real busy for the next little while. We can handle our own difficulties, thank you very much. The National Post is owned by Americans when it should not be. The US oil cartel contributes a lot of money to the Post, just witness all of the oil propaganda and lies appearing in the Paper’s pages. Interestingly we can get the flavour of just who we are dealing with. Jan Carr is a former Director of TransAlta which has just settle a ruling by the Alberta Market Surveillance Admin. in respect to TransAlta’s gaming of the electrical system. The Company cheated Albertans out of $ 5.5 million. They manipulated the supply of KWs from BC by blocking potentially cheaper prices just like ENRON used to do. Harper / Kent had announced new pollution regs for coal fired generating plants across the Country. Now they are pulling back the regulationa nd giving these crooks at TransAlta [ and other private operators ] a gimmee. These private energy operators are rotten to the core but the money to Harper does work well. As long as they flourish and can buy the allegiance of politicans and the ad media our wallets are not safe. Ontario is now a have-not-province and Alberta is about to duplicate our slide here. This doesn’t have to be the case. There are Green / clean / cheap solutions but the media won’t touch the good news. It is a matter of the people [ YOU ] taking back the power over power. In Ontario we must return to our roots and reactivate the tremendous hydro resources we possess. In Alberta the one customer market [ USA ] for nat. gas and oil has failed them. American demand for gasoline has dropped 20% in 3 years. There are new finds of tight oil and tight nat. gas in America which means they DON’T NEED ALBERTA NAT. GAS OR OIL ANYMORE.. There is an old saying adapt to the conditions at hand or die. In a sense Ontario and Alberta could make beautiful music together. Alberta can refine its’ own bitumen and send the FINISHED OIL by the Twin Beaver pipelines along with nat. gas to the east [ Ont., Que, NB, NS and PEI ]. Any surplus could be exported to the world market through Churchill Man. The provinces in the east can sent hydro KWs west to the tar sands on the cross Canada grid. Any such plan to bring energy benefits to the citizenry will be fought tooth and nail by the US oil cartel, pipeline firms, private energy businesses, bought politicians [ Harper ] and the ad media. The proposed Keystone pipe would have taken raw tar to Texas to restart idle refineries in Port Arthur after which the finished oil would have been sold to China. The only benefit from this scam would be One US oil company [ Valero ] and one Arab oil company [ Saudi Aramco ]. The proposed Northern Gateway pipes will move raw tar from Alberta over the Rockies to the Pacific where it will be sent to refineries in California or China. There is no money in shipping raw bitumen out of the Country so as to make the Americans / Chinese rich. This is what we did early in our history and thus we were called drawers of water and hewers of wood. Herr Harper beckons us to return to those days. If we become again drawers and hewers the reponsibility will be totally on our shoulders. If so it will be a matter of us choosing to go meekly as lambs to a slaughter administered by the RIGHT.

This has been a tough year for Americans. I love the American people, they are the most can-do folks in the world. Their Government yuk. They were staunch isolationists during the 1930s and unsure because everything was in flux. The Republicans, the banks and Wall St. had engineered a financial meltdown of 29 because Washington had allowed the Street to put too many sheep on the common. Bush, the Republicans, the banks and Wall St. repeated the performance beginning in 2000 when they removed the monetary restraints [ Glass - Steagall Act ] put in place in 1933 to prevent another 29 crash. It is a little like passing a law requiring each ship to have enough lifeboats to accomodate every passenger on board in the event of a tragedy. Bush / Republicans removed all the US lifeboats because the banks and Wall St. said WE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY IF WE DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS LIFEBOAT THING. And the Streeters slipped Bush and the Republicans a few bob to help them make up their minds. This criminal activity involving worthless paper on the part of the political right was spread to Europe in the form of quaranteed investment certificates stamped with AAA by the US rating agencies [ Moody's, Fitch and Standard & poor's ] which are an extention of a corrupt Government in Washington. The Street paid to get those AAA ratings, crap or not. The rating agencies thern slipped those in charge of the Street a few more bob for good measure. I feel sorry for the Europeans, they were taken in by the Yankee traders and the US banks and Wall St. that gamed the EU. England which was always wary of the EU had a relationship with the Union but kept its’ own currency. This holding back was crucial. By pulling back from the EU PM David Cameron has provided England with an emergency escape hatch not available to the other European nations. He is best suited to live to fight another day and in the doing England is a far more valuable ally to the EU by being in a position of strength and at arms length for a debauched Wall St. PM Cameron is being lauded at home and villified in North America. The US right was quite happy to see England contribute to the bailout of Greece and the like. Making the bailout pot bigger would allow them to make even more money gaming the situation. British cash is now out of reach. In trying to come to grips with the fact that Alberta has lost its’ nat. gas and oil markets I tried to look down the road at the options. Contrary to what the politicians and the media said the Keystone people were just going to take [ steal ] bitumen out of the Province for a song and refine it in Texas. I have written many times [ in the old days I wrote letters, every one of them unanswered ] about creating a cross Canada electrical grid [ like the USA ] and sending surplus hydro KWs from Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario and Ontario to the tar sands. This is a made-in-Canada solution that would lower CO2 emissions immediately and lower all energy costs to Canadians at the same time. With David Cameron’s name in the papers every day he made it onto my screen. Hereabouts my England is being portrayed by the right press as a poor EU castoff that will slowly sink below the waves. Bullshit. The US streeters will say anything that brings them a buck. I hope my distant Countrymen and women don’t believe this trash talk, its’ pure hokum. I have suggested to Albertans that their new market for nat. gas and oil lies east aboard the Twin Beaver Pipelines to Toronto, Montreal and the Maritimes. There’s a market of 23 million Canadians down here who actually have the ability to PAY THEIR BILLS. A one customer business is not a bright idea as exemplified by Alberta. Having been in business for 50 years I would never set up to accomodate only one customer no matter how sweet the deal. It struck me that England is the the world customer for Alberta’s nat. gas and oil surplus. First the eastern market should be satisfied then Britain. Now I don’t see that as a problem. Using Churchill Man., a deep water port, for an oil tank farm and a LNG terminal would allow for a resource holding area to smooth supply. England is watching North Sea gas reserves diminish and their only other sources of nat. gas are Norway, Algieria and Russia. The last two are unreliable suppliers. So a secure supply of nat. gas and oil from Alberta would be welcomed by the Brits I am sure. England is not a lost little island. Teaming up with Canada, Alberta nat. gas / oil, our natural resourses, their advanced Green technology, our /their manufacturing and cooperation on the financial front between the London, Toronto and Montreal Stock Exchanges coupled with a market of almost 100 million people is a winner in a wounded world. In terms of Canada coming through the financial meltdown we have former PM Jean Chretien to thank. He brought our fiscal situation back into balance and there was money in the kitty. OUR own banks were screaming for deregulation and the repeal of those measures [ like the US Glass Steagall Act ] that limited their activities. Chretien would not bow. If a bank granted a mortgage IT STAYED ON THEIR BOOKS. Any investment instuments had to be backed up by generous reserves. Meaning if a certificate went sour the investor got his / her money back. There were no wholesale forclosures in Canada and the value of real estate hardly dipped. Even though our exports were reduced due to the inability of people in some countries to buy our goods. This Country is fortunate in that our large land mass, a variety of environments which ensures a wide range of outputs, fruit from BC, Niagara and the Maritimes, oil /gas / coal in Saskatchewan and Alberta, limitless hydro in Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and BC, wind in Newfoundland, PEI, the Gaspe, Pincher Creek and BC, tidal power in the Maritimes and BC, wood in BC, northern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, grain on the Prairies and minerals in Northern Ontario and the territories. And to consume these we have a population 0f 34 million people, a critical mass. Any surpluses of course are export bound but we do not live or die based on exports like many other countries. With the new energy alignment of the provinces that I have suggested we would be the lowest cost energy nation on the planet. Even if an economy slows it is the businesses that are well disciplined, cost efficient and customer oriented that survive. It has been my experience, having lived through tough times that one can even expand a well run business in a recession because competion falls by the wayside. Their customers have to go somewhere even if they are not spending as much money each. Another story that fits, I love telling stories. Raglan Industries in north Oshawa has been in business for maybe 40 years or more. It is run by a family, the dad started a small welding business that grew. I think there are at least 4 sons, girls I don’t know. The company has grown to the point where among other things they produce trailers and dump bodies. When you drive around Ontario you will see many a dump truck with mud flaps that say Raglan. I always used to do business with Robert when I needed steel structures, welding and raw metal. In front of the welding shop there were always lawn mowers, tent frames, lawn furniture and the like. One day I asked Robert why they bothered with all of this penny ante stuff when they were manufacturing truck bodies at $ 25,000 a copy. He said the cash and carry welding jobs of which there was a steady stream had kept Raglan in business during downturns. This cash money kept the fires alive. How many businesses think that way to-day??? Robert’s father was older than me. We were both affected by the great depression. My Dad had a job throughout the 1930s, we had a little house and food on the table. Sometimes his employer, the Easy Washing Machine Co. would pay their workers with stock. The overhang of the depression has never left me and I never wanted to do that again. Bush, the Republicans, the banks and Wall St. had no experience with those tough times and were not interested in the possible effects on the general population. Their’s were CLOSED RIGHT MINDS. But my self sufficient and cautious approach has stood this family in good stead. My 3 kids are chips off the old block. They are doing very well thank you. The reason Canada’s economy is getting shaky can be laid at the doorstep of Herr Harper. To begin with the Fuhrer gave away our cash surplus position to his friends in all manner of tax cuts. Now he is reducing the size of Government other that his Gestapo and his Propaganda Ministry which now numbers 1300 no thinkers and climbing. Harper is cutting programs and reducing Ottawa’s responsibility in medicare. He is leading an assault on unions. He is killing Government involvement in a variety of areas and as a result anyone can own a gun without authorities knowing about it [ how USA ] and small farmers will be able to sell their grain to any one of the three giant American food conglomerates. Harper has turned one group against another. He has disparaged the arts and galas, mounted attacks on the CBC, CRTC, Auditor General, Can. Nuclear Safety Comm, Elections Can., Can. Wheat Board, Provincial Securities Comm. His dinosaurs are leaning on, gays, pro choicers, newcomers, enviromentalists and the Green movement. Just to name a few. If that wasn’t enough Herr Harper has threatened the provinces with lower medicare grants, going back on his 6% per annum promise at election time. Do we want a half mad oil cartel employee like Harper tearing the guts out of this Country??? So to my Canadian readers it is decision time. Do we seize the opportunity in these difficult times to build a better Canada based on all of the resources and skills at hand or do we allow Harper and his Fascist Government to remake us in the image of California, broke and ungovernable. Call your Facist / Conservative MP and raise hell. If your MP is one of Harper’s trained seals then buy memberships in the Conservative Party to organize an anti Harper element within. Then take over your local riding association. Such an occupation would bear results. If we can get 25 true PC MPs to cross the floor, then the Government is toast. You can use Harper’s own rules against him. Raise a glass. We already have our first floor crosser, Conservative MP Peter Goldring will sit as an independent MP when Parliament resumes. Harper’s slim majority just lost a little weight. If you try to take over Harper’s riding associations his only defense will be to call in Tim Powers and his Gestapo. They’ll come knocking on your door in the night as you might expect from a totalitarian regime. Remember I AM A TORY. In all of my travels within the PC Party in Ontario I have never encountered so many on the rabid right. They are sprouting up all over the place. What we are facing is private army of adherents on the right paid by big oil like Hitler’s Brownshirts. Accepting Republican hard elbow tactics up here is just a little too much for me. I say to all of the oil execs, American draft dodgers [ Tom Flanagan ] and Republicans in Calgary who are stripping the wealth out of Alberta, go home and take Harper and Pastor Manning with you.

HERR HARPER ASKS FORMER PM JEAN CHRETIEN TO GIVE BACK THE $ 200,000 JUDGEMENT — You know, I might think about that request but first. I want that crook Brian Mulroney to give back the $ 2.1 million of taxpayer’s money he got based on perjured testimony in a lawsuit he brought against Canada. This is the guy who was taking cash under the table when he was Prime Mimister. Mulroney is beneath contempt and a liar as well, just like Harper. My other requirement before we deal with Jean Chretien award is that Herr Harper give back the tens of millions of dollars he has gotten under the table from the US oil cartel.

HARPER DOESN’T LIKE THE CBC, HASN’T DONE SO FOR 30 YEARS — So why doesn’t Steve come right out and make the case HIMSELF. He doesn’t have the balls to address all these issues like a man. He always gets someone else to do his dirty work . Many of these flunkies are then hung out to dry. Where does Harper find so many people willing to fall on their swords for him??? My take on the recent attacks on the CBC is that Harper organized the hits then hid. This campaign included Pierre Peladeau who is hoping to get a special licence through the PeeM that will require every Canadian to subcribe to his failed Sun TV. Hitler did the same thing. Germans had to buy a special one station radio for $ 35. Your SunTV receiver won’t have a tuner on it. The use of any other receiver by a German meant death. Ezra LeRant was the chief screamer at the Sun pushing the CBC situation. Various brainless Conservative MPs were ordered to keep up the assault on the CBC in Parliament. As were the Nat. Post and the Tor. Sun. However, way too late did the Neanderthals in the PMO find out that Canadians love their CBC and the roof fell in. Steve probably said, ” oh shit “, and he bade his whole crew to start to backpedaling like crazy. Minister James Moore was designated as the fool-for-a-day to pull Harper’s chesnuts [ with the emphasis on nuts ] out of the fire. Moore said he loved the CBC [ a lie ]. He said the CBC would get even more money next year [ a lie ]. It was the old switcheroony. Harper makes a mistake [ often ], he never apologizes, he lies and then changes the subject or confuses the issue. This is what comes from living in the land of wishful thinking. Harper is king in that land did you know. That is why the PeeM make so many boo boos. Earth to Harper, earth to Harper, the CBC is the only media outlet in the Country that tells the truth. Therefore it is of SOME USE to Canadians. On the other hand the Post and Sun provide the perfect wrapping paper for fish and chips.

ANDREW COYNE HAS MOVED TO THE USA NATIONAL POST / I WISH HIM WELL AS NEWSPAPERS WALK OFF INTO THE SUNSET / ANDREW * MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR CHEQUE — When Andrew was born I was already a minor PC worker in Pickering. When he was 8 I was writing two historicals columns for local papers. One I called, ” Pickering’s Past “. When Coyne left public school I was serving as a Pickering Councillor. At the time Andrew left university I was writing what would eventually number 150 columns for the Canadian Pilots and Owners News. ” Technically Speaking “, was one. I worked for the PCs from 1960 to the retirement of Bill Davis in 1985. When Frank Miller became Premier our Party made like toast. Ontario was not ready for the hard right and that remains true to this day. One thing about the right in Ontario who think Republican nonsense is that no matter how many times their lunkheaded ideological approach fails they immediately come back and do it all over again. Look at the PCs under John Tory and Tim Hudak. The best years for Ontario started after the War and lasted up to 1985 for two reasons. Hydro power and a business like attitude in the Tory Party coupled with a social concience. We took an interest in the welfare of the WHOLE CITIZENRY BUT WE WERE DEDICATED TO MAKING THE MONEY FIRST WITHOUT IMPOSING RUINOUS TAXES. So the drill was to make the lives of Ontarians better while keeping a credit balance and generating income in every way possible beyond taxes. Since that time Ontario Governments have never been able to rediscover that balance. Added to the woes of Peterson, Rae, Harris, Eves and McGuinty was the fact that the nukies had destroyed our electrical system and as a result they destroyed Ontario’s economy. Even to this day it is a secret still kept from the people here, especially by the Star. Back in my day we operated in the real world and called em the way we saw em. To-day’s journalists like Coyne observe the passing scene and then twist the subject matter to pay homage to the cult of the status quo. The 20%ers are spending millions trying to hold back the hands of time at our expense. The media, especially the press is dying because their copy is largely irrelevant, of little use to the rank and file and more importantly of no use to the young. We have just had a display of the financial power of the 20%ers with the promotion of the Keystone project. A half dozen lies were repeated over and over by the bought media and almost every right wing politician. TransNotCanada was so cock sure. They had puchased the required pipe from India [ thus creating hundreds of good paying North American jobs *** RIGHT ] and they had paid off Washington and Ottawa. In the end the people or little people as Barb Amiel calls us said NO. Those involved in trying to steal Alberta’s bitument were floored by the failure of their hugely expensive campaign. The US oil cartel still can’t come to grips with this defeat. Spreading such a load of cash around in the past has always brought them what they desired most, friendly governments and dirt cheap resources with no responsibilities for the environment attached. Keystone may well be a tipping point in terms of finally driving a knife through the heart of the press. Andew Coyne and his compariots are doomed. Their jobs are defined as writing about the land of wishful thinking and for this they get a pay cheque. The rest of us live in the real world and the majority now seek valid information and guidance as to what is coming down the track. To survive we all need the best / verifiable information possible. Roald Amundsen reach the South Pole in 1911. He is quoted as saying something like, meticulous planning was crucial, the greatest factor was the way the expedition was equipped, every possible difficultly was considered, precautions were taken to meet problems or avoid them if possible. Amundsen brought to the expedition years of Arctic experience. His, sounds like the real world to me, not the land where the wishful thinkers like Herr Harper dwell. Coyne could not write the things I write. Andrew, if he did copy me he’d be out of work tout de suite. If he continues to write Government / advertiser spin as he does now he’ll be out of work shortly. Mind, he will have just enought time to put his financial house in order and then apply for a job at McDonalds.

THE WORLD MOVES EVER CLOSER TO CLEANER AIR AND CLEANER / CHEAPER ENERGY — President Obama has just announced the final rule regarding emissions from coal fired generating plants. Of course the Republicans and many of the private electrical companies are crying foul. Would we expect anything less from the members of the flat earth society. I have been pushing for clean coal technology to be installed at Ontario’s coal plants for years but OPG won’t do it. They don’t want any competition for their nukes, no clean coal, no wind and no hydro electricity. Isn’t it interesting that the nukies get to decide what is good for us but we still pay all the bills. I say, no say, no pay. This is the main reason King Charles 1 of England lost his head [ 1649 ]. The people said if we pay taxes we want some say. Charlie said,” you will pay but you’ll not HAVE ANY SAY “. If Ontario pursued clean coal technology, already an established process we could sell that technology to the world market. Back when I first proposed this the American electric companies were resisting cleaning up. Sounds liike the US oil cartel doesn’t it. We had a chance to seize that moment, reequip our coal plants and reap the rewards. But no, the nukies rule the roost from 700 University Ave.. Mike Harris failed to seize the moment in 2000 to fix the electrical system. McGuinty failed in the same way, 2003 to 2011. Now under this new Obama rule coal plants will move forward in that Country and develop clean coal technology. And once again Ontario will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. OPG is so desparate for back up generating capacity to cover the shaky nukes that they are now proposing to convert one of our coal plant to burn biomass. Do you know what biomass is??? I thought not. It is wood, a fuel that emits CO2. We have 27,000 MWs of Green / clean / cheap hydro electricity installed or potential and these stupid bastard are going to BURN WOOD. Wood to-day is only used at cottages and in show fireplaces in some homes. There is now a shortage of wood for the present market. McGuinty’s expensive nukie KWs have killed the lumber industry in Northern Ontario so there is no excess of waste wood. We have so much hydro electricity that we could close all the nuclear / coal / nat. gas plants in the Province within 5 years. Can you believe ALL OF THEM LONG GONE. McGuinty won’t tackle the nukies, they gave him a house after all. The Liberal party machine won’t make a waves because so many of them are making big bucks gaming the system. And the Lib / PC MPPs are not going to raise finger because they got you figured for patsies. This electrical system gets crazier by the minute and that process will continue as long as you spend your time sitting on your hands and keeping quiet.

THE MELANCTHON QUARRY — Is just another example of the Americans up here trying to steal our resourses to solve their insolvency. The Yanks are hurting for money bigtime and they are going to grab it any way they can. we are faced with grabs all across the Country. Keystone was a grab for bitument. In Northern Ontario they want to grab chromite and process it offshore. They want our gravel and water and on and on. The standard proceedure is to buy off the politicians and the ad media. Sneak up on the public and then when all hell breaks loose start playing dierty tricks. In 1987 GM got a $ 100 million interest free loan from Quebec to build a new paint plant. Although that plant has been demolished Generous Motors has never paid back that money. Pay the electeds enough money and the Yanks could steal the crown jewels. The big deal with the tar sands as far as the world is concerned is the CO2 and the filth the US oil cartel is spreading across the countryside. There is already a small tar sands operation Stateside that doesn’t emit huge clouds of CO2 and recycles the water used. It has to operate clean due to EPA regs. How come the US oil cartel is allowed to despoil Northern Alberta with impunity??? I’ll answer my own question. Just buy a Steve Harper, pay for his electioneering, pay for the cost of his party’s operation, pay for attack ads and voila. Tar sands filth with no end in sight. In terms of members of McGuinty’s inner circle gaming the proposed quarry it is just another example of money buys you everything. Big Energy and Big Business must think they have died and arrived in Heaven. So many politicans are prepared to take bribes to-day to okay almost anything. But there is alway one destination in all of these adventures, the pockets of the people. In many areas of the States you can no longer put in a quarry. They destroy the water table among other things. Water is in such short supply Stateside gravel pits are outlawed. What they do for gravel is grind up rocks. Portable grinders move to an area. Loaders drop rocks on to a conveyor which shakes out the dirt. It take a lot of electricity to run the portable grinders but in California / Washington State particularly there are loads of Green / clean / cheap hydro electricity and plenty of bolders left from the last ice age. Why not in Ontario? We have tons and tons and tons of rocks left over from the ice age too. When I am digging at the cottage Mabs say all she hears is clanging. And we have tons and tons and tons of hydro electricity too in Ontario. Hydro to provide cheap lights, hydro to send to the tar sands and hydro to make gravel [ any size you want ] [ much cheaper / cleaner than a quarry ]. But McGuinty and the nukies won’t let us use our hydro resources. And Johnny Spears and the Star will never tell you about the happy hydro story. Johnny and John Honderich have been bought too. With the Keystone project there was a big confrontation,unnecessary, yet the solution is within reach. With the proposed quarry there was another big confrontation, unnecessary and yet the solution is sitting right there staring us in the face. One simple problem, politicans are paid to ignore us, the present of a house buys a lot of loyalty. Politicians then pay the ad media to keep us at bay. Solution, replace the dishonest politicians. Stop supporting newspapers. It is ridiculous to pay the wages of the very media whose hands clutch us by the throats and do so for money. JUST FOR MONEY. THE NEW YORK TIME IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS / AND PROPERLY SO / WHEN AMERICA NEEDED THE NYT MOST THE PAPER WENT AWOL — When Bush, the Republicans, the banks and Wall St. drove a stake through America’s heart the NYT stood silently by. While claiming to represent the people the Times was too much of an insider to blow the whistle. All it would have taken to sound the alarm is have a David Brooks, Maureen Dowd, Thomas L. Friedman or the others stand up for the USA. And have a Times management with the spine to print such a warning. I am afraid alas it was a rescue mission too far. The States is a Country of individuals where people are allowed to do as they please. Down there you can own a gun and it is nobody else’s business. You can call people beneath your station names and pay no price. You can have religious beliefs and prejudices, gather together those of like mind and force your views on the majority without regard to the democratic process. Any attempt by Washington to assist vulnerable people is branded socialism. It is where Government is seen as the major impediment to greed and the private pursuit of personal wealth. Well the chickens have all come home to roost. In 2000 Americans needed a strong Government to stop the white / right / rich 20% from flooding the common with to many sheep. Now the grass is all gone. The little people are up against the wall with no relief in sight. Many of those who were supposed to be on sentry duty like the NYT are also being pulled down by the undertow. Much to their suprise. And apparently, still to this very day David, Maureen and Tom haven’t figured out what went so badly wrong. Their failing was not to see that rugged individualism and the attendant far right ideology are not compatible with a democratic system. In the end the whole citizenry has to trust the people’s will. Parade you ideas and ideology as much as you like but in the end once a fair vote has been taken everyone has to live with it, no exceptions. The anti abortionists have never been able to garner more than 20% voter support in Canada. So we have to make a choice. Either we want a democracy with all the benefits such a system brings. Or we are governed by special interests groups. It seems to me that is what we had hundreds of years ago and our democracy emerged out of that turmoil. America has gone back to the past. Read history and you will see what Americans are in for, it aint pretty. In Rome, from 280 to 335 AD there were 50 emperors, like real stable. That particular period was the making of the end of the empire. Too much money had been spent on warring, there was little work, people were starving, the army wasn’t being paid and the Visigoths were at the gate. Those in control fought for power, one group against another with no regard for the larger population. Once an emperor was installed those opposing elements killed him. But Americans have a reputation for living in the land of wishful thinking. They hold up their Constitution but don’t live by it. Most countries in the world have very lax laws and consequently that defines life for them. In the USA there are fine laws on the books which would under normal circumstances never allow for the present financial crisis. But those fine laws are not adhered to so what you get is a society no better than a banana republic.

NYT / JANUARY 1 / 12 / COMMENT BY KEVIN DELANEY / IGNORANT AND DISHONEST — This is a continuation of the above piece and the commentary herein prompted me to slam the NYT. If I have heard / seen it once I have heard / seen it a thousand times, ‘ the financial meltdown of 2008 /2009, was caused by people buying houses they could not afford “. This crock was orchestrated by the 20%ers to lay off the blame which was squarely on their shoulders. They paid a thousand scribes in the media to write / repeat this nonsense over and over again. Goebbel’s said,” if you repeat a lie often enough people will think it is the truth “. That is actually true. It worked for the Nazis, it worked for the 20 %ers, it worked for the Keystone people and it is working for Herr Harper. In all cases the telling of lies worked / works because of a subservient media, well paid but subservient still. I wonder about such people as the journoshills. How can one sell out the truth, friendship, love of Country and one’s own standards for a paycheque? It seemed to me that this kind of thing only infected the Germans in the 1930s. Just following orders they said. However this mindless / groupthink is alive and well in North America. The 20%ers have found a whole host of brainless scribes who have and continue to promulgate the land of wishful thinking. One example might be the media treatment of Conrad Black. A stranger to this Country, reading our newspapers for the first time would think Black was a leading citizen who holds the Order of Canada, a successful businessman, a publisher of merit, a noted author and newspaper columnist and general bon vivant who is going to have supper with George Jonas at their favourite Toronto haunt when he returns. Rather, Black is a convicted criminal, his Order of Canada is going the be taken away [ that is if he hasn't already paid off the committee responsible ], he wrecked every business he was ever involved in [ Conrad bought businesses or cheated the owners out of them, broke them into bits to sell off the assets or he stole company funds ], he started the National Post and wasted $ 210 million on it before it was sold, he has written various books about people who remind him of himself, Paul Godfrey gives Black a half page in the Post each week so he can show off his superiority, his kind side and a sort of look at me, such a nice guy am I. Conrad makes favourable mention of Herr Harper every chance he gets.. All this malarky is calculated to get him back onto our shores. A while back Black could not have his own way, left in a huff and denounced Canada. He bought British citizenship and his way into the House of Lords. This suited Barbara Amiel who was quote as saying, ” the little people should know their place “, when Conrad first fell afoul of the law. I cut her comments out of the paper and put it on my fridge. Black had been in my sights for years. He was a crook from day one and in 1985 the Ont. Securities Comm. had him up on 28 criminal charges. The Attorney General, Roy McMurtry at the time urged the OSC to proceed with charges. Rather they let Black off the hook. After that I never took the OSC seriously. It is just another group of insiders who looked after their own like the doctors and lawyers. This , ” little people “, babble from Barbara was quite enlightening. Amiel came for a questionable background in England, she was little people too. What the hell is this? I can only assume she is empty headed and overawed by the money even if it came from crime or cheating. My Mom was born in a jailer’s cottage outside the wall of Wandsworth Prison and my Dad south of the Barnes Train Bridge over the Thames. My Grandfather was a brick layer who worked on the London Subways. I’m little people and proud of it. The little people created England and Canada. Black is going to come out of Coleman Prison in Florida after serving his term. Immigration officials will take him into custody immediately as he is not an American citizen. He will be deported to England, his purchased home. In the mean time I would expect Black’s Order of Canada will have been withdrawn. I hope that he will be kicked out of the Lords because he is a convicted felon. Criminals are not granted Canadian citizenship under normal circumstances. The only exception is a Cabinet Order I understand. This is why Conrad keeps kissing Herr Harper’s ass almost every time he puts pen to paper. In terms of the media there are so many other fairy tales that have been told and are now being told by the media for money. I think the most current fairy tale is the Keystone project. The American Petroluem Assoc. announced a couple of months back that they would commit TO A HUGE MEDIA BUY TO PROMOTE THE PIPELINE. Now the APA was doing the dirty work for the US oil cartel just like Herr Harper does along with his hirelings. None of what was advertised, announced or written about the Keystone is true. I have already covered that story in previous posts. I latched on to this type of propaganda blitz with the Ontario nukies years ago. The media, especially the Toronto Star showed me just how successful the press could be fudging the facts for the Government and the nukies. A steady stream of false and misleading copy. If a problem occurred at a nuclear plant the word was mum. I have all such articles in my files. One thing the modern media doesn’t do is go back in time. The dots don’t get connected for a price. Harper can say something, reverse himself later and from the press never a murmur. When Black was brought to trial he was asked about coming back to Canada. His answer clued me in. That there was already a move to get him back in if he went down for the count. Again I started to clip articles. When APA said it would buy the media for the Keystone promotion I knew exactly what was in store , one side of the debate only. There would be no counter comment, nothing on the horizon but paid boosters. My only question was how many of our established journalist would fall under the spell [ cheque ] of the APA? I was surprised at how many of the known Canadian scribes started pimping for the Keystone. The cartel left nobody out. I was more surprised at the number of politicans, Gary Doer, Gordon Campbell, Brad Wall and others who bought into the fairy tale hook, line and sinker. This without even investigating the claims. Jeez, out of thousands and thousands of people who started to sing the Keystone song not one of them said,” hold on for a minute “. So it is with the white / right / rich 20% who are determined to avoid any blame for the 2008 /09 US trip over the cliff. Many of the nukie, Black and Keystone shills are double dipping on the melt down spin campaign. One being Kevin Delaney. We used to have investigative journalists. Nobody digs into nothing, these day. The writers of to-day specialize in copying propaganda for whoever is paying the bill. A lot of people made a lot of money screwing little Americans. Not one of them wants to admit involvement. So they pay big money to the ad media and their shill writers to continually muddy the waters. You would be amazed at the number of people in the street, on TV, in papers or magazines mouthing,” the whole mess was caused by people buying houses they could no afford “. Bush, the Republican, the banks, Wall St. and the media screwed the little Americans, bankrupted the US financial and then came cap in hand to Washington asking for taxpayer’s handouts. That is called a double screwing. Delaney’s piece in the NYT was written to provide a cover for all of those derelict subdivisions that people now see when they are driving around. Kevin Delaney says that building subdivision from on after the War was dream that was not sustainable and now the problems are evident. It was just a mistake of historyKevin say and this is the tragic result. Canada has had no such problems with subdivisions. We don’t have street after street of burned out houses that have been stripped, where the streetlights have been shut off and the police and firemen don’t visit anymore. I have never seen a single picture of any of the hundreds of US subdivisions that look like bombed out Beirut Lebanon in the media, not a magazine, paper or on TV. In 2006 such pictures were on the MLS network. I was ONLY TOLD about the carnage, called the Cleveland effect, MLS is a private network, not for the eyes of us little people. Thousands of real estate agents knew what was coming, as did politicans, government officials, bank employees, managers, mortgage brokers, lenders of all type and on and on. They were prepared to see their fellow Americans go to the wall as long as they themselves were making a buck. Apparently the USA elites practise a reverse of the good samaritan idea. Stateside, if someone falls by the wayside the 20%ers just ignore them. For Delaney a little lesson. I have been trying to instruct Johnny Spears of the Star about energy matters for years. When one is going to write for a national newspaper I would think one should know a little bit about the subject. But I have been proved wrong. Not knowing what one is writing about is a real plus, the politician, business or advertiser can say anything they want and they will not be challenged. Spears has made a lot of money for the Star not asking questions. It is at present an amazing business, newspapers. One is paid for not doing something. Like the private generators of electricity in Ontario, they oftentimes get paid for KWs they don’t generate. If Spears spilled the beans the public would be outraged. Kevin, people who don’t have money can’t buy a house under normal circumstances. Why would a bank lend to a person who isn’t creditworthy? Only, only, only if the bank could hand over the money but not suffer the consequences if repayment is not made. Now, how could such a thing happen? When I owned my appliance store I dealt with a finance company and had a floor plan. I bought display washers and dryer on terms. I paid a small amount of interest each month and had to eventually buy the machine outright. But I only ordered popular models and turned them over quickly. If a customer want to finance a machine they filled out the necessary forms. I HAD TO MAKE SURE THE FORMS WERE FILLED OUT PROPERLY BECAUSE IF NOT I WAS ON THE HOOK. If a customer lied on the form it was the responsibility of the finance company to take action. My practise was to just not make questionable deals, it was not worth the hassle. So now we come to the US mortgage subprime situation. Bush and the Republicans pulled ALL OF THE RESTRICTIONS OFF THE BANKS AND WALL ST. Investment money and depositors money could be mixed. One for the banks. This allowed the reduction of reserves. Two for the banks. Mortgages did not have to be carried on the bank’s book. Three for the banks. Mortages could be bundles together to create investment certificates to which fees could be easily added [ theft actually ]. So the investors did not have a piece of any one house but little bits of 100 houses. Four for the banks. These certificates returned an interest rate of about 7% as if related to an individual house where there was hard equity. It was the old bait and switch. Five for the banks. The rating agencies were paid by the banks to apply an AAA rating. Six for the banks. The lending institutions were putting questionable paper through but since the banks were not reponsible, how the forms were filled out was of little importance. Seven for the banks. In fact having to spend the time filling out forms slowed down the flow of mortgages, money flow and bonuses. Is the person actually breathing? Okay. Eight for the banks. To make even more money the banks opened with a teaser rate wherein the interest rate jumped by 4% in two years and they didn’t explain this to the suckers [ fellow Americans ]. This meant even more money for the banks. If the new owner could not pay the interest increase on the home the bank could alway foreclosed. It could then be sold for even more as house prices were always going to be going up were they not? Nine for the banks. This was not only living in the land of wishful thinking but a fools paradise. Thus the score stands 9 for the banks / nothing for Americans. A game played without rules wherein the Government didn’t tell 300 million people that all the rules had been removed and they were the ones being gamed [ just one of the prices to be paid by little people ]. With all of these bogus mortgages granted they easily constituted 20% or more of the housing market. Of all of the thousands of people from the top down who were in on this betrayal surely someone had second thoughts. What if there isa downturn in the housing market? In 2005 80% of the wealth in the US was in real estate? Kill real estate and you kill America. Anyone with half a brain, not even in real estate knows once the number of homes for sale reaches 20% in a hundred house subdivision the value of all of the homes is negatively affected. Even if the empty 20% are still spiffy. But the problem here is that once the slide started and the number of empty homes grew the point of no return was passed. And that is what has happened in the US. The housing market has been destroyed and will take years to climb out of the hole IF EVER. No matter the grave situation the Republicans continue to play childish games in Congress and across the countryside in the Republican primaries. Of course the media like the NYT continues to walk with blindfolds on. Business as usual. Kevin Delaney is ignorant of the subprime mess and therefore his copy should not be in the pages of the Paper. Or Kevin knows exactly what has been going on and he writing propaganda for money from the white / right / rich 20%. Under those circumstances Jill Abramson should have banned such a dishonest article. Most of those involved in the subprime stickup should face criminal charges. The NYT in my view is just covering up this wholesale theft. I saw Jill interviewed on the Charlie Rose Show. She also lives in the land of wishful thinking. I would like to say to her, lady, the dam went out some time ago. You are now wasting everyone’s time. I am a natural fix-it-guy. I follow Canadian affairs very closely. All of OUR problems have happy solutions if we can only get round the RIGHT ROADBLOCK. But in terms of the USA I am completely buffaloed. The Country is like a vase that has fallen 10 stories and smashed into a million pieces. What is the answer? Beats me. And the antics of the Republican leaders currently tells me that the search for the shattered pieces of the national vase and the criminal masterminds of the meltdown is still a ways off. With every passing day America’s heartbeat grows more feeble. The time may shortly come when consideration should be given to having a large monument erected in Arlington Cemetary to commemorate the death of a once great nation. I am sure the new rulers of the land will allow former Americans to visit such a memorial to remember and to think of what might have been.

THE TRADEGY OF THE COMMON / A TIMELESS RULE OF THUMB / 350 BC TO 2011 28/12/11

This post was prompted by three newspaper items [ of that later ]. They all relate to the present turbulent time and show just how distant the press has become from the very readers they are supposed to serve. The papers were given a special place in various societies starting over 200 years ago. First in England, then in the USA and Canada [ among others ]. It was realized very early that the right to speak out without fear of those in authority was crucial to the advancement of humankind. Going back in time we can easily see the winner and loser empires. King Louis 16 lived in his isolated Court, took little notice of his people, owned the civil service and the newspapers. The peasantry did not know what was going on at the centre of power nor were their voices being heard. This void was filled by pamphleteers. Politically savy patriots who printed newletters in the basements of Paris under threat of death. These pamphelets were smuggled out into the countryside for distribution. Most of the peasants could not read so they gathered in churches, halls and inns to hear the latest news. The French Revolution was born in the provinces and based on a level of people knowledge of events about which the Royals HAD NO INKLING. A sort of Arab spring of 1891 in which the role of the cell phone was played by the pamphlet. In the 1820 / 30s the Family Compact, made up of the privileged ruled Upper Canada [ Ontario ] with an iron hand. We did have a Legislature but its’ actions could simply be overruled by the Compact. Their power was made more complete by the fact that the Compact owned the press. Except for one publication, the Colonial Advocate, circulated by one William Lyon Mackenzie. He was a MPP, a political activist and a promoter of responsible government [ that the will of the people is PARAMOUNT ]. Responsible government is not a sometimes thing. A gal is either pregnant or she is not. Due mostly to Mackenzie the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837 happened, as did a revolt in Lower Canada [ Quebec ]. These were the basis of reforms that created Canada and gave us responsible Government. The very governmental system now being dismantled by Harper and his Fascists. We have inherited in Canada a number [ but shrinking ] of opportunities to voice our will. There are school boards, various public utilities, municipalities, provincial / territorial governments, the Federal Government and last but not least unique situations like the Canadian Wheat Board. Over 140 years within this nation the mechanism to record our votes has been institutionalized in such a way as to insure the outcome of any election large or small actually reflects the will of the people. My Mother, a staunch Tory, acted as a Deputy Returning Officer in the 1940s /50s in York Township. I can never remember her mixing her party affiliation with her duty to our community. In fact at that time many people who lost their jobs would not apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits because THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE A DRAIN ON SOCIETY. They felt that there were others who were having a tougher time and they deserved the help. That was the older Canada. A very different time. I am particularly concerned about the efforts of Herr Harper and his Fascist / Conservative to steal, rig, disrupt and buy electoral victories. Once this becomes the new normal our democracy will have been lost. By every measure the hard right doesn’t have the support of enough people in Canada to gain a majority fair and square. Harper has a slim majority at present. He is two by-elections, a couple of defections and a death away from defeat. In a sense the minnow [ Reform ] in swallowing the whale [ PCs ] Harper gained a lot of on-the-loose supporters [ including me ] who were originally taken in. But who are now pealing away. Every hard right jolt turns more and more former PCs off. To some degree Herr Harper’s majority came from vote splitting in Ontario and the complete collapse of the Federal Liberal Party. Pastor Manning keeps telling us the Canada has moved to the right, don’t believe a word of it, just the usual wishful thinking by the right. This message dominates the news media right now because the scribes are paid by Harper. It is another example of freedom of the press which has now become the freedom to sell out to the highest bidder and tell lies. So what we are faced with now is an introduction of Republican dirty election tricks by Harper to gain votes that would otherwise not be within reach. Look at California. The Republicans and the US oil cartel teamed up to disrupt the system of voting in that State in such a way as to now thwart the will of the majority. A vote of the majority in the State now is meaningless. PCs could wake up to Harper’s tricks but by then it may be too late. Our franchise might be as valuable as Can. Tire Money. There are a hundred different way to steal seats. Grab a seat here, another seat there, as Harper tried to do in Montreal when he hired a group of Fascist PR thugs to spread rumours and smear the Liberal Candidate Irwin Cotler. How is this different from Hilter’s Brown Shirts? And their thugish behaviour? Californians never woke up to the fact that the right / oilies were filtching their democracy from under their very noses. Now that California is broke and ungovernable the State is releasing criminals, there is not the money to pay jail upkeep. This is one of the war cries of the right, reduce Government so the mob can take over the streets. We are headed for the same fate as California if we sleep too late. But this evil environment can only blossom where the ad media has been purchased. I believe that the internet is the means by which Canada will be save from the US oil cartel and tyrants on the right. What I have been writing about for a long time is that there have always been, selfish, greedy and power hungry people. Their success or failure has everything to do with an informed public, a vigilant press and governments that have the spine to act. If you know someone is planning to rape your daughter you can take preventative measures. My family lines go back to Yorkshire and this heritage would prompt me to act quickly and cut the guy’s nuts off first. The press didn’t tell us about the Republicans repealling the Glass – Steagall Act [ both Democrats ] in 99. This act was passed in 1933 to say that banks could not use depositor’s money for speculation. I think you would agree that preventing bankers from playing fast and loose with your dough is a good thing. Especially when, if they fritter away your cash, YOU ARE THE ONE OUT OF POCKET. Well in 1999 the Gram-Leach-Bliley Act [ all Republicans ] killed Glass-Steagall and invited the banks to help themselves to the little people’s money. This was 12 years ago and look what the bankers and Wall St. have done to the US in that short time. The most powerful democratic Country in the world has been brought to its knees by the Fascist element in American politics and their paid toadies in the media. What I find interesting though is the fact that the media owners having facilitated the actions of the Republican Fascists and the Street somehow believed that they would be immune from the financial fall out. It is classic, ” tragedy of the common “. Those who put more sheep onto the common than they were allowed, in order to gain a quick / extra profit, somehow did not see that in the long run when all the grass had been eaten EVERYBODY would lose their sheep. Sort of short term gain for long term death. So it is with our present advertising media. 25 years ago advertising became a huge part of media picture. Ads eventually provided 70% of the industry’s revenue. It is not rocket science to figure out in that world the importance of the readers concerns began to be diminished and eventually disappear. Lying increased as did misinformation [ like the current Keystone project ] which took centre stage. Like any parasite this kind of arrangement usually means the host dies and so we are. But so are they. With the host gone the parasite no longer has anything to feed on and expires. This move by the press to carry the dishonest / spin messages of political parties, the rich and the advertisers only meant our society, based on the view of the movers and takers caused officialdom to travelled farther and farther into the land of wishful thinking [ LOWT ]. Without counter comment and vigorous, open debate the governing class has gone out into space somewhere. BUT THAT IS NOT WHERE WE THE PEOPLE LIVE. Our directions are coming from out there but we live here. We have failed as voters to demand that those who we CHOSE to serve must remain HERE AT OUR SIDE. All of Harper’s Fascist / Conservative MPs from Ontario were not elected to be the Fuhrer’s courtiers. But they are acting as Himself’s courtiers and you are letting them get away with this deliliction of their duty. Too many people do not know that they have lost their freedom until they hear the clang of the concentration camp gate closing behind them. The media still doesn’t get it. By sucking up to the right and the oil cartel and dancing for pennies they have cut their own throats. The old line media is dying, not a slow death either. If the citizenry doesn’t have the wherewithall to put food on the table and have a roof they are not going to be buying newspapers. Especially if the papers print lies, only increase the anxiety of the population and offer no hope. The media as we have known it is in sharp decline. No wonder? Daaaaaaaaa. Newspaper and magazine circulation is dropping. In the US there used to be 54,000 registered journalists. Their association now only has 37,000 members, this drop in 5 years. Those scribes who are out of work only have themselves to blame. They took money to look the other way while the politicans, the banks and Wall St. looted the vault. The New York Time just fired their Chief Executive and gave her $ 15 million to go away. NYT employee buyouts are underway as is the sale of smaller papers in the chain. The Toronto Star is saddled with $ 500 million in debt engineered by former CEO Rob Prichard who is presently sinking Metrolinx. Rob is just another of McGuinty’s pals who have a special talent for burning through money while screwing things up royally. The US National Post is broke no matter what Paul Godfrey says. Pierre Peladeau bought into the paper and TV business just as the ad media was 50 feet from the edge of the cliff going 60 miles an hour. Many slow people call Conrad Black a great Canadian businessman. Connie never suceeded in building one successful company. He only destroyed them. Peladeau may well be the match of Black. Does your MPP SHOW ANY INTEREST IN YOUR CONCERNS. The media should be all over MPs and MPPs who shirk their responsibilities. The Mississauga natural gas plant was a huge story for many reasons. It went right over the heads of the media shills covering the event. There are a thousand stories out here in the real world that never get told. The media is on retainer from the 20%ers not to say a word. Have you got an answer from your MPP to your questions about the electrical system? This questioning about Government actions or lack thereof about KWs is / has been promoted by me for some weeks now. Your letter serves two purposes. It will tell you if your MPP is interested in you outrageous hydro bill or not. And you letters will offer a guide to the future management of the new Ontario Hydro [ nOH ] IN MEETING YOUR NEEDS. It will be your very own utility, operated at your pleasure. My God what a shock. Half of the population may suffer strokes, nukie servitude gone??? Now that will be something. All the nukies and ENRON boys at 700 University will be sent along home. That beautiful building would make great condos and we’d get good rent. I figure we will save $ 25 million a year in salaries alone with the dolts gone. If the retaking of our electrical system by Ontarians does actually occur it will be because of the internet. The ad media has too much of a propagandist mindset to do a 180 now. How does one make amends after telling nukie lies for 20 years. TV, newspapers and magazines will die with their boots on, never having admitted they took the wrong road. They pledged alliegence to money and turned their backs on the truth. And now they must pay, head on block.

Now for the articles that lit this particular fuse. [ 1 ] The Toronto setting Sun ran an article about a survey which showed people are becoming more and more unhappy. [ 2 ] The debt laden Toronto Star had two articles wherein a couple of their scribes [ either stupid or on the take ] said the problems with our electrical system are TOO COMPLEX or TOO CONFUSING for the ratepayers to understand. [ 3 ] Chris Bentley, Minister of Energy said, ” don’t expect any quick fixes to our electical system “.

ONE – Of course Pierre Peladeau’s Sun news empire [ soon to be just a memory ] does everything it can to upset your day. Those involved in shoveling the rants like Ezra Lerant and Brian Lilley are not about offering the news of the day. They like their employer and the others on the rabid right march to a different drummer. They have an ideology set in stone and every happening no matter how small is measured against that ideology. They and their pals are intolerant / racists biggots. In a democracy the will of the people prevails. Anything that the majority feels has merit will be the flavour of the day no matter what Ezra thinks. If that majority decides otherwise at some later date then there will be a new flavour of the day. This is the way democracies live. There is built into such a governmental system the ability to respond to the wishes of the majority of the population on a continuing basis. Thus we have a constant battle within democracies between the natural nobility [ the right who know best ] and the people. When the USA broke away from England the framers of their Constitution did not want a repeat of the Royal House. But there was acceptance in the States of the notion of a natural nobility. Exceptional MEN [ no women ] who proved that they had special abilities who should be recognized as people that could play a leadership role. Now ability is the key word but like so many provisions in the US Constitution, they are much talked about but rarely acted upon. What happen is that natural nobility status could be extended to a son even if he was the village idiot. In addition if you had money or stole money you could become a noble. How is this better than having royalty. Over time the number of nobles in the States has proliferated and Canada has followed suit but in a more lady like manner. Thus we have a group of elevated personages in the present whose interests are not the same as the 80% majority. George Bush Jr’s grandfather Prescott Bush was one of the Director [ including Averell Hariman ] of the Union Banking Corp. which had ties to the Thyssen family in Germany. The Company was apparently holding Nazi gold. The US Government seized the assets of the firm under the, ” Trading with the Enemy Act “. During the rise of Hitler many Republicans were taking German money under the table and a number of businesses were playing both ends against the middle. Like IBM and General Motors. Interestingly at the fall of Dunkirk the English got off the beach along with 100,000 French troops but they left all of their equipment behind. At the time the English Army used Bedford trucks, manufactured by GM, for transportation. On orders, the Bedford drivers drained the oil out of every truck engine, then ran them till they seized up. Thus rendering same inoperable or so the officials thought. GM was also operating in Germany making trucks like the Bedford and making a profit. GM / Germany just supplied Hitler with all the new Bedford engine or parts he needed. Thus hundreds of English trucks were made whole for the Nazis by GM taking blood money. The now Government Motors is still that same Corporation, operating legally, just. So the Bush family got its’ money from questionable sources and 2 of the Bush boys became Presidents. The older one George H. W. Bush fought in WW11 as a Navy pilot, went into the oil business and became President [ a good noble ]. The younger one hid from his duty in the Vietnam War, went into the oil business, it failed and there was a charge of insider trading, he was put in the President’s office by the right wing Supreme Court and then proceeded to destroy the Country by allowing the bankers and Wall St. to stage a never ending money hoot nanny[ a bad noble ]. The Sun enterprises continually represent the natural nobility point of view. As does the National Post which Peladeau distributes. Every issue that is covered relates to right wing ideology. Most of the print / talk pertains to how the various elements of our society don’t meet their expectations / ideology as laid out in their little hand book. It is a very small volume actually, 3 pages to be exact. Cut taxes [ of the rich and business ], reduce the size of government [ so that the nobles can do as they please like reducing the number of meat inspectors, something the packing companies just love ] and cut programs [ to the disadvantaged and the people most at risk. Who should expect to pull themselves up by their boot straps like all the sons of the nobles did [ Bush Jr. ]. Peladeau’s operation serves up a steady diet of news and comment based on what the white / right / rich 20% says or wishes. It is a constant assault on the bulk of the citizenry like saying our medicare cost are no sustainable. This is a lie told over and over because the US Health Care industry wants into Canada and is paying big to push the introduction of two-tier. My question to Peladeau. If you sucker punch the population every day of the week with lies and misinformation why are you so concerned about people being unhappy? Typical right wing ploy, say one thing but mean the exact opposite. Herr harper has the forked tongue routine down pat.

The Toronto Star and I have been locked in a battle for years and I have the letters to prove it. My orginal complain was about the nukie propaganda which at times filled the Paper’s pages. It was technical and mechanical nonsensicalness, like nuclear plants do not emit CO2. Go on the net and look up the USA / EPA. They don’t bullshit. Nuclear plants emit CO2 at a level just below that of nat. gas plants. The Star also repeated [ even to-day ] that Ontario has no more hydro electric sites left. Not true. We have 2200 hydro site available [ based on an inventory done by old Ontario Hydro ]. It is estimated that this Province has 27,000 MWs of hydro both installed and potential. Right now we use a max of 19,000 MWs a day. So as sure as God made little green apples we could do away with ALL OF THE NUCLEAR / COAL / NATURAL GAS plants and harness Green / clean / cheap KWs that cost O N E H A L F A C E N T P E R K W H O U R. The reason we can’t access this cheap / clean hydro power is the nukies won’t let us and use OUR money to bribe the politicians and papers to help not let us. The stuff being reported in the past was just not true. And the Star still isn’t reporting the truth. To say that the mess we are now in with our electrical system is complex and confusing is partly Star created. Honderich has contributed to the very complexity and the confusion of the situation. As well John has contributed to the mess itself, mind he has been paid a lot of our money to help make fools of us. The way to fix our electrical system and drop the price of KWs to 10 cents all in, quickly is TO CREATE AN EDUCATED ELECTORATE THAT IS IMMUNE TO NUKIE / STAR SPIN. Once informed the people can tell the MPPs what they should be doing energywise. We will be having a Provincial election within 18 months. In that time you yourself have to get up to speed and figure out what is going on. I am willing to help. I have already suggested you write to your MPP about KWS. Please save a copy of your letter. If the Lib /PC MPPs are too wedded to the Party machines to pay attention to your concerns we will use you letter in another venue. One way or another the TIME FOR THE FIX IS NOW. Either we find 55 MPPs who are more interested in the KW plight of the people or we organize and force electricity into the next campaign wherein savy voters will express their will and cause head to roll.

Chris Bentley said, ” he has no quick fix for power problems “. This is just uninformed gibberish happily reported in the Star by my electrically challenged friend John Spears who never questions anyone. John has been copying down all the nukie nonsense for at least 7 or 8 years and no matter how hard I have tried to educate him about the truth his attraction to money, pay cheque [ no doubt the Star loves the money too ] is a much greater pull. If Spears / the Star and I had gotten down to brass tack years ago Ontario’s economy would be rivalling that of Saskatchewan. Just look at that booming Western Province. Ontario could be doing as well if we had just had that operation in time. You know the removal of the nukie cancer. Don’t expect anything in the way of sympathy from Bentley. He hides from taking action on every important matter. When the heat is on Bentley is the nowhere man. Expect ever increasing hydro bills because the Energy Minister’s foot is on the brake. We ain’t goin nowhere. Chris and the most highly paid secretary in the world [ Laura Formusa / CEO of Hydro One / who makes $ 900,000 plus a year ] met and toured the Leaside Transformer Station. Beyond suggesting that Ontarians will have to pay much more on their hydro bills there was nothing. So nothing goes into Bentley’s brain where nothing already exists. I wish I had been at that meeting, I could have told the both of then where to go. To hell or told them how to fix our KW system. John Spears should have at least called me for comment. Spear and John Honderich both have had my address and phone number FOR YEAR, so much for counter comment. That is the reason you hydro bills are so high and heading skyward. The other side of the story and the constant abuse of political power has been censored out. The Nazis could not have done a better job. It is interesting that Saskatchewan is the economic winner in Canada. Ontario has become a ghost Province, actually, the first in our history. And Alberta is soon to follow Ontario’s lead first becoming a-have-not- province. Then a ghost Province like us. Their markets for nat.gas and and oil have dried up. Maybe Albertans will be able to get by selling cattle, tumbleweed and Wild Rose Party election buttons.

TRAGEDY OF THE COMMON AND THE LAND OF WISHFUL THINKING HAVE REIMPOSED ANOTHER DOSE OF REALITY AND WE DON’T HAVE GEORGE BUSH JR. AROUND TO BAIL US OUT — Both Aristotle [ 322 / 384 BC ] and Thueydides [ 395 / 460 BC ] showed concerns about those assets held by the citizens in common. There was recognition of human behaviour in that there are some who will take more than their fair share even though in the end taking more out than you put in endangers the whole. Apparently there is an inability of some to connect the dots. This automatically means such people are living in the land of make believe. 9000 banks in the USA were involved in subprime mortgages. The name applies to people who are weak credit risks. In the past these people were denied mortgages. So the entire housing stock in America was owned by credit worthy people [ well on paper, anyway ]. But the system did work even if the odd person suffered the shorts or fell on hard times. Even in normal tough economic times the stock of homes for sale never reached the critical level of 20 %. In 1931 the Canadian Government outlawed the foreclosing of houses. Landlord were stuck with people paying what they could. However the amount of the purchase price remained the same even if it took longer to pay the thing off. The interest rate was very low. But in a truth this measure ensured that the landlords too were protected as the valuation of real estate here fell very little from 1930 to 1940. In the USA the situation in 2005 was similar but different in 3 ways. Banks could lend money on houses but did not have to keep the debt on their own books. They didn’t have any skin in the game so to speak. Since the banks made fat fees bundling mortgages into investment certificates the credit worthiness of buyers was of little concern. The standard financial requirement forms were ignored. Many such forms were devoid of important information such as did the applicant have a job? Or have any resources? Or what was his / her credit history? The main requirements were, whether the applicant was breathing and would stay alive until the mortgage became legal. The other problem is in the fact that US Governments must never ever interfere with business. Business is a holy shrine worshipped at by the right and Republicans. Let the, “ Invisible Hand “,of the market prevail. This self destructive mantra is all wrong but the nobles have turned it into a myth. And it is sacrilegious for us to question same. Adam Smith’s expression about the, “ markets “, has been hijacked by the right to use in justifying the rape of our pocket books and to use as a blunt weapon to beat us over the heads with if we don’t heel. George Bush Jr. was too dumb to understand that the more than 20% of the mortgages granted from 2000 on were subprime and that they had the potential to destroy the Country. a ticking time bomb. At that time 80% of the wealth of the USA was tied up in real estate. That valuation has dropped to just over 40%. The Nation faced another problem. If G. Bush Jr. had understood the ticking time bomb his Republican pals would never have let him impose a moritorium on bank foreclosures. Their ideology doesn’t allow for such things. Their ideology doesn’t permit making a temporary repair to the dam even after it springs a leak. The ideology of the right doesn’t allow outside opinions to be voiced nor is any Republican allowed to try to connect the dots. Dot connecting will take the right places it doesn’t want to go, like fix social problems. Republican ideology accepts that will fall by the wayside if the market doesn’t work, even if they are pals. This failure by the losers has to be accepted as a price to be paid by believers who play in this superior market system. If real life intervenes as things did during the dot / com bubble of 2002 or the subprime fiasco of 2006 then as far as the right is concerned they will blame it on the Democrats, poor people buying homes they could not afford or the dog. Republican NEVER ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. Thinking you can play God as the Republicans have tried to do has left America prostrate and at the mercy of others, namely China. What Adam Smith meant when he wrote that bit about the invisible market related to the buying habits of the public and the manner of businesses around in his time [ 1723 / 1790 ]. He counselled businessmen to view the market as invisible and to expect surprises. The invisible hand does not relate to some mystical / religous happening as Wall St. would have us believe. Don’t engage in wishful thinking he said. Say there are 1000 potential customers. How many will buy hats, of what type and what colour? Will blue win out or red? What affect will advertising have on the sale of hats? And so on. And so it is. The ad media to-day doesn’t want the advertisers to know how successful ads are. Years ago an advertisers used code words in ads like [ drawer 22 ] to gauge a response. The media didn’t like that. They wanted advertisers to be in the dark and in fear of losing out if ads were not placed. The net offers advertisers the exact response to ads and ads can be placed to capture a target market. If you offer recreational accomodation on water all you have to do is advertise on net sites that relate to boats or canoes. It is little wonder that the ad media is slipping away. The papers here feed us advertiser / right wing propaganda and Canadians aren’t buy it. The net offers advertisers a bigger bang for their buck. So these fair weather friends [ ad people ] for which the media has told a million lies have found another,a younger more exciting gal to party with. But the advertiser will find this gal can bite, she will be more difficult to control. Spinning things will be much more difficult and there is plenty of counter comment. The net is a hostile environment in which the best rises to the top and the truth prevails. To win this race participants must actually run the race not ride on the bus. And dishonesty won’t fly. In terms of the common, the best known of these was in England. The manors would have a certain grazing area that could be used by everybody. But limits were set as to how many sheep each family could put on the common. It is obvious that any such are could only support a certain number of sheep before the grass was all gone. then all the sheep would die. The management was obligated to enforce the limit. Those sneaking extra sheep onto the common might lose their right to enter. What troubled Aristotle was the nature of some men to abuse the common and how that would be prevented. In England the system worked quite well and eventually estates were broken up into individual farms wherein family could raise sheep on their own land. The common has remained with us and to-day takes different forms. Our hospitals, schools, roads, utilities, public buildings and the like constitute assets commonly held by the citizenry. We still face greedy and irresponsible people who who do not fulfill their obligations to the rest of us. If someone spray paints the wall of a school we all suffer and the culprit should be punished. Couriers like Canada Post, FED EX, UPS, Shred-It etc block our main streets with abandon thereby contributing mightily to the gridlock problem in Toronto. They are not ticketed by the City but if the abuse is witnessed by the public a Parking Ticket Fairy will issue a summons for show. Then a round the corner the courier throws the summons in the garbage. Thus the City allows the roads that belong to us all to be used to make money while it imposes costs and onconvenience on the majority The couriers are putting too many sheep on the common and at a price we all have to pay. The managers of the common, the City Council is turning a blind eye to abuse by the couriers and putting stress on the common. I offered to spend a week with Mayor Ford driving around Toronto to show him how gridlock could be reduced by 25%, roughly. In the USA, Bush and the Republican withdrew for active management of the common and told the banks and Wall St. to go for it. Take as much as you want said they. I visualize the frenzy that followed like a pack of wolves devouring a dead carcass. What remains is there for the world to see, the remain of America. This assault on the Yankee common invited by Bush and the Republicans spilled over into the EU. For ten years Goldman Sachs loaned money [ $ 1 billion ] under the table to Greece to pad its’ bank account. This allowed Greece to get into the EU. It gave Greece a EU credit card which allowed even more irresponsible borrowing. So in declaring open hunting season on Americans by the banks and the Streeters Bush /Republicans also allowed the breeching of the EU common. This criminal activity by Goldman Sachs and others has pretty well done a number on Europe. Herr Harper is now trying to open Canada’s common to US interests, the American Health Care industry, the grain industry, the oil business, the tar sands [ Keystone ], private electric companies, newspapers, [ Nat. Post ] banking, insurance etc. We have laws pertaining to such activities but if you look closely Harper is watering them down or circumventing them. Canada’s common is still pretty much intact. The Federal Government isn’t protecting our common so we will have to protect it ourselves. EXPECT NO HELP FROM THE OLD LINE MEDIA. They make their money helping Harper tear little chunks of the Country off at a time. The media in other circumstances would be considered enemies of the state. In June 1940 Winston Churchill move under Regulation 18 B. Anyone suspected of undermining England was picked up and many were jailed including the Nazi pretender, Oswald Mosely and his wife. A case could be made that the Canadian media [ excluding the CBC ] is undermining the Country by circulating propaganda, lies, misinformation and censoring news for money. This is a matter for urgent consideration by you. If we fail to protect our society then those who are still around after the collapse can look back and it will be all to clear why the end came. We followed the Americans into the grave.

THE RISE AND FALL AND DEATH OF ONTARIO HYDRO, TAKING ONTARIO WITH IT 22/12/11

If you have been following my adventures you will remember that I suggested to Mike Harris [ way back ] when he announced the sale of old Ontario Hydro that he should fix it not sell it. I wrote to Mike and met with Janet Ecker my MPP about this matter. As a PC worker in northern Pickering for over 30 years and a former Councillor for Ward 3 I had many contacts. Some of the PCs in my area were fed up with the hard elbows / right wing tactics Harris had engaged in. He had won reelection but with a reduced majority, it was too close for comfort. The announced sale of O H just threw gasoline on the fire and Mike became even more unpopular. Tories in this Province at least, could not / can not abide the thought of the private sector owning the KWs and wires. Especially with the ENRON scandal filling the headlines at that time. My fix for the predicament Harris was, do something big and dramatic, something that would affect and benefit ALL Ontarians, namely tacling the ever increasing price of KWs. Clean up the operation of O H. My advice was, you either fix O H or lose the next election. I saw it that starkly. My prediction came true. Our Party lost bigtime.

What I did not know when I was making this suggestion was that Harris had a hidden debt of $ 3.5 billion and although ENRON was coming unhinged in the USA some of that company’s operatives were sitting at Mike’s table. In addition Harris was owned by 6 businessmen from Bay St. who pledged to cover his every election expense. Now does that sound like a Premier who would be interested in you, the voter? He was making a fool of you and an even bigger fool of me. Dummy me, I was out there knocking on doors on his behalf. McGuinty is guilty of the same kind of offense. The nukies gave him a house. That is why the Dalt has supported the nukies over the past 8 years through thick and thin. Everytime he flips the coin it is heads for the nukies. The secret both sides of the coin have heads. In return for his gift house McGuinty has had to make sure your wallet is always available at the pleasure of the nukies and that commitment still hold true to-day. Have you looked a your hydro bill lately? Our’s says $ 100 for electricity for 3 months. That is 1/3rd of what it was pre Ken’s Geo system. But the delivery charge was $ 250. Ontarians paid for those transmission lines 50 years ago. This is highway robbery and the nukies will keep sticking it to us until YOU YES YOU, do something about it. What I am aiming for is a Private Member’s Bill to set up an all party Legislative Committee to overhaul our electrical system. We need the votes of 55 MPPs to get it passed. If the MPPs refuse to buck their party machines I WILL SET UP AN ELECTRICAL FORUM OURSIDE THE LEGISLATURE. Maybe Ed Clark of the TD Bank would be interested in sponsoring such a KW forum at the Dome. Once Ontarians are made aware of the not very complex KW problems and understand the solutions the Good Ship Ontario can set sail into a brighter future. Neither McGuinty nor Hudak want to admit that there are solutions. Doing so would require them to fix the situation. Harris was able to shoehorn a number of his friends into the gaming of the system and an overhaul would COST HIS TORY FRIENDS MONEY,LOTS. McGuinty got his free house so he can’t permit an overhaul to take place either. The nukies made a wise decision when they gave Dalt that house, it was a good investment and provided a ton of cash in return to fund their nuclear experiments. Say they took up a collection of $ 1 million among the nukie industry to cover the cost of Dalt’s house. Since that time the nukies have been able to scam us to the tune of hundreds of millions to keep their labs humming. It would have been much cheaper if you and I and the others had taken up a collection to buy McGuinty his house ourselves. In terms of Harris he didn’t apply himself to a fix. As a result of worsening PR Mike realized he was going to tank with the voters and he turned tail and took off. As he fled the yellow stripe down his back was there for all to see. Mike did not want an electoral defeat to show on his record. Harris waited till it was clear that he would be rejected and then left us PCs high and dry. Nor allowing enough time for a new leader to get his / her footing. This is the same stunt pulled by that crook Mulroney who fled with only 2 1/2 months left in a 5 year mandate already having made arrangement for a cash drop off of $ 300,000 in a brown envelope. Every time I see Brian talking about never having been defeated I want to throw up all over him. I was on the Fed. PC Pickering / Whitby Riding Association [ 1993 ]. The anger was so great against Mulroney that we just sat on our hands as did all the surrounding ridings [ ? ]. We – PCs / Campbell went from 169 seat to just two, the worst political defeat in our history, dead last out of 5 parties. Even the rabid right wing Reform beat us. If Herr Harper succeeds in tearing down Canada as he is threatening to do Mulroney can be held partially reponsible for destroying this Nation. The mood against Harris [ 2001 ] in the hinterland was similar but my people in Pickering were not ready to kill him right then like they were Brian. A group of unions and environmental groups took Harris to Court over the proposed Hydro sale. The Judge said no dice and I said a silent word of thanks. Ernie Eves was thrown into the breach, with too little time to steady himself. Eves started out in office as a true PC then abruptly switched to a hard right wing agenda, bad news. Even more damaging was the fact that Ernie indicated he would pass Legislation to make the sale of O H legal. I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS SEEING. ANY CHANCE WE HAD TO RETAIN POWER WENT BYE BYE. From that time to this the rabid right who have stolen my PC Party HAVE NEVER LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE. Both Provincially and Federally the PCs and the Fascist / Conservatives are controlled by party machines funded by big business and the OIL CARTEL specifically. Vote for either one of them and you will be TOLD WHAT YOU CAN DO, not asked. Can confinement in a camp be far behind for mouthy writers like me? When John Tory was leader of the PCs he ran a terrible 2007 campaign. I mean this guy is abysmal. There are two kinds of people. Those who think they are important so think what they do IS IMPORTANT. Or those WHO DO IMPORTANT THINGS, THUS THEY ARE IMPORTANT. Tory fits that description of self importance as does Conrad ” the thief “ Black and John ‘ the lightweight “ Honderich. A year before the 2007 election I began to write to Tory to urge him to make the fixing of our electrical system the central campaign issue. Over time I tried to educate John about the vast hydro electric potential Ontario had and how we could transition back to the Green / clean / cheap powere that powered Ontario into economic first place. At that time info from an Aluminum Co. of Can. report indicated with ALL COSTS IN a KW/H was worth a half a penny behind their various hydro dams. In 1995 Ontario Hydro quoted a penny per. Much of the money Alum. Can. was making was selling KWs. This valuations was before the juice makes it into the wires. The transmission infrastucture was built and paid for 50 years ago so the real costs are low. How come we pay 20 cents per KW/H now? The nukies were given a monopoly 40 years ago with the understanding that Greener, cleaner, cheaper forms of generation would be banned. That ban is still in force and hydro has been wiped off our screen thanks to a well rewarded media like the Star. This allows the nukies to ream us out quite proper and ream us they do. Tory wrote me a note on what may have come from a scratch pad in a hotel lobby. John said I am interested. I continued to write but never got any further communication from him. I figured Tory shook his handlers for a few moments, wrote me the note and had hotel staff smuggle it out. There was never another word from John. Maybe his keepers kept him on the bus after that. Later I discovered that Harris had a number of business friends who were interested in various chunks of old Ontario Hydro. Some ENRON TYPES WERE INVOLVED. PC insiders were hired as lobbyists, to well, like lobby Harris and Eves. They were paid big money by the suits but in the end my PCs went down and the insiders couldn’t deliver. To this day there are still Hydro IOUs waiting to be redeemed once a new Tory Government is elected. My proposals to close the nuclear plants and fire up hydro electricity would have messed things up royally for all those PC insiders who took money. An overhauled electrical system will be totally owned by Ontarians and operated by unions under essential service regulations. John Tory’s hands were tied. He was betrothed to big business as Mike Harris was married to big business. The PCs in Ontario are as dead as mackerals. Out of power, John Baird, Tony Clement, Jim Flaherty moved over to the Fascist / Conservatives in the Capital. Hudak, Snobelen and the others on the right who helped sink our Party are still hanging around here making stupid noises. Those on the right are driven by an ideology which NEVER FAILS [ in their minds ]. If something does go wrong something else or someone else is to blame. The white / right / rich 20% just never learn. If at first they don’t succeed they keep doing the same thing over and over no matter how long it takes, even if they destroy everything. They never give in because they ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. Just look at the Republican handywork Stateside, California, Philidephia and the USA itself, broke and ungovernable. It’s all going down the drain and Newt Gingrich will only increase the terminal velocity downward. As you know in the 2007 contest John Tory got clanged, but good. And in 2011 Hudak got clanged but good. The two of them and the PC machine are just like milk wagon horses, good at doing the same thing over and over, never thinking of thinking for themselves. And never considering the voters [ ever ]. There are many pure PCs like me out here. We have no home. Even so we wouldn’t touch the likes of Hudak and the hard right, ever.

My Party handed McGuinty the election in 2003. I was concerned about the future of Ontario with the nukies in control. An acquaintance who had been in politics for years like me said, “ don’t look at Queen’s Park as the seat of power “. That resides to the north, at 700 University Ave. now the glass house of the nukies. The former home of Ontario Hydro. I wrote to McGuinty just after he assumed the Premiership offering my advice and my research. The Preem did actually respond to me, he said,” thanks for writing “. For 8 years Ontario has remained a nuclear experimental laboratory, operated at our expense. Shortly after this exchange between me and the Preem, Murray Elston, a former Liberal Cabinet Minister became President of the Canadian Nuclear Association, this right after McGuinty’s election. The first few comments made by Elston as head of the CNA showed he didn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground nuclearwise. It was clear that Murray, who had a direct link right into McGuinty’s office was the bagman for the nukies. This to allow them to funnel cash to the Premier. Many times since then I have written in my widely distributed letters that Elston was the cash courier for the nukies. The $ pipeline to Queen’s Park. During his first term I coined the phrase, “ that with McGuinty all roads lead to nuclear “. No matter what transpired Dalt always, always, always took the nukie side. I decided that the only reason a Premier would support the false and misleading information and continual lying eminating from the nuclear cult would be that Dalt had been promised a lifetime job after politics and / or the nukes had bought him an estate. Copies of these comments were mailed to the Preem / Elston, AEC, OPG, Hydro One, Star / Globe,politicians and others. I figured these comments would stir up a hornet’s nest. Not a word, not a single blood word and this was at least 6 years ago. But that was before the net. No matter what I did or said the nukies had everyone in their pocket, this having been done WITH YOUR MONEY. HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES? Your going to the gallows in the morning and YOU even paid for the rope. Everyone with any authority in Ontario’s electrical system, IS ON THE TAKE, IS OWNED BY THE NUKIES, ALL BOUGHT WITH YOUR DOUGH. Ontarians are now faced with a Province that was bankrupted by the nukies. If that wasn’t greed enough the nukies are now trying to bankrupt you PERSONALLY. You as individuals are the only ones with cash and assets. I thought McGuinty was taking a real chance backing lies and telling lies himeself like, 52% of this Province’s KWs come from nuclear. That is an 18% lie. The number according to the World Nuclear Association is really 34% Such lies were so easy to prove false but since the nukies own the media this information would never get into the public domain. I found out a few days ago that the nukies actually did buy McGuinty a house, so I was right all along. With Mike beholdened to 6 Bay Streeters and McGuinty accepting a house from the nukies do you think there has ever been a snowball’s chance in hell that your interests would be looked after over the past 15 years. You are absolutely right. Not. YOUR IMPORTANCE IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS with the Libs / PCs IS ZILTCH. I blame former MPPs at Queen’s Park over that period of time for the mess we are in. They could have been on the take or was it they didn’t want to get involved so looked the other way or maybe they were intimidated by the Lib. / PC Party machines. If they took bribes they should be out on their asses. If they just looked the other way when duty called they should be out on their asses. If they are too yellow to go to bat for YOU they should be out on their asses. Honourable mention of those partially responsible for the KW mess is John Honderich and his Star. If you have been reading my stuff, you cansee John and the Paper have had all my information as I uncovered it. But never a peep. John from time to time will trot out his, “ this is the people’s paper “, nonsense, all the while he was and is selling us down the river. On any one of the major nukie / KW issues over time all he had to write was, ” The British are coming “. But money trumped the truth and the Star’s headlines instead said, the British are not coming when they really were. Can you imagine a restaurant owner in Roman times bribing the workmen who were installing the milestones to put one in front of his hamburger stand although it was only at the 3/4 mile mark. Misleading the citizenry can undermine a society. That is what Honderich is doing, weakening the fabric of our democracy by taking nukie money to bury the truth. This blog is 2 years old. Many of the comments printed herein WERE PRINTED OUT ON OLD FASHION PAPER AND IN THE OLD FASHION WAY MAILED DIRECTLY TO HONDERICH. My comments have never made it into the Star although I have solutions to the difficulties with Ontario’s electrical system. The movers and takers do not want you and I set free. The rot goes too deep to tinker with our electrical system as it stands now. We need to apply a scorched earth policy, burn everything to the ground and rebuild the system based on the operations of the once successful old Ontario Hydro and our existing hydro lines and assets. The important core of our system is OUR Hydro One, not the nukie Hydro One. We own the transmission lines. With Hydro One in hand we can pick and chose who gets to generate the KWs. The most important move will be using all of the generating assets that belong to ONTARIANS to produce Green / clean / cheap power and see where we go from there. I really don’t know how many hydro plants have been closed or decommissioned by the nukies. I would think that should be our first act, looking in all of the closets. Private generators and parasitic businesses will be put out of commission for a period of time. So they hired lawyers. Big bloody deal. Paying a few claims will be a hell of a lot cheaper that what we are paying now. Laura Formusa, the world’s highest paid sectretary gets $ 900,000 plus per years. FOR WHAT? SCREWING THINGS UP? I am aiming to cut KW prices by half immediately. LIKE THE NEXT BILL. There are over 100 SMALL hydro plants that have been mothballed for sure. All of the water that passes by them runs down to the sea wasted, while we go broke. Almost all of the working hydro plants could be equipped with modern water turbines which have the potential to immediatley produce 25 % more power for peanuts. These turbines could be built in Ontario, Oshawa, Downsview or Windsor, installed by a Build Ontario located in North Bay. A big bonus, advances in hydro plant design will allow us to cut the flow of wasted water now going over the spillways. These upgrades don’t even touch the 2200 potential new hydro sites available. Goodbye nukies. I’d turn 700 University Ave into condos. Any one making over $ 350,000 will be out of there. Don’t like it, sue us. Nuclear plants will be closed as they fail, no more repairs. Any private business deals involving Lib. / PC insiders will be cancelled. They’ll be on the outside looking in. Don’t like getting caught cheating the people? I’d say, sue us again. I would like to see both Harris and McGuinty investigated for accepting [ business payments under the table or a house ] benefits. My long involvement with this issue shows that among the movers and takers and the ad media there is nobody prepared to excise this nukie cancer. They are all gaming the system. Dumb meters which do nothing but cost us money. Expensive conservation programs that go backwards and increase KW consumption.The only people getting rich are McGuinty’s friends. 5 colour brochures on every electrical subject that are calculated to misinform. It all has to go. As said, a nukie cancer that is now calculated to ruin people economically as individuals. We have a pretty clear decision to make. Either insist that your MPP bow to your interests or wait awhile so you can gather in the streets with your neighbours and brandish your pitchforks.

The recent ad media propaganda campaign boosting the Keystone Pipeline was a real eye opener for me. I was used to the nukie propaganda push which ebbed and flowed over years. I went through stages with the Star. At first I thought that the editors and the journalists were just non mechanical people who didn’t have their stories straight. If a so called auto writer talked about a v 7 engine a hell of a howl would go up from the readership. But when the Star said there were no more hydro sites in Ontario there wasn’t a whimper from the public. They don’t know one way or the other. What was happening was that the nukies were paying the Star to remove water power from the screen so they would have no competition. Now coal did not provide competition for nuclear because it is dirty. The coal plants were put under nukie control [ big mistake ] It was like putting the foxes in charge of the chicken coop. The nukies refused to install clean coal technology which would have reduced emission below that of the natural gas plants. Failure to install clean coal technology by the nukies left McGuinty with a perfect political foil. If a nuclear plant failed dirty coal could provide the backup. If the nuclear plants operated as promised [ which did not happen too often ] or KW consumption went down the coal facilities could be shuttered. The nukies made a deal with McGuinty. Since the nukies needed to have the coal plants ready for an emergency, they were to be paid NOT TO GENERATE coal electricity. Thus the ratepayers had to pay a huge price for nuclear plants that pooped out after 20 years, 1/2 the promised lifespan. Back up their operation with dirty coal plants, kept dirty on purpose. Then the nukies would be paid FOR THE KWs THAT WERE NOT GENERATED BY THE CLOSED COAL PLANTS. This is pure craziness. But McGuinty got his house so he has to keep his word, right? Some Hydro plants were sold to the private sector by Harris under dubious circumstances. Then in the case of the private Rankin hydro plant [ only 100 years old ] in Niagara Falls, it was ordered closed in 2005 by Dwight Duncan. Jan Carr, former CEO of OPA said Rankin was in need of repair and the US / Can Water agreement was running out. Carr was lying. Duncan wanted to reduce KW capacity and he agreed to continue to pay the owners of the Rankin plant for NOT GENERATING KWs. He was attempting to scare Ontarians with the possibility of blackouts, it was a bogus threat. But Duncan had to ACTUALLY CREATE a phony shortage. The private owners were paid as if the facility was still pumping out KWs. Over the last 5 years the expensive Kws here caused manufacturers to leave and people to cut their consumption. A drop or 20%. The Rankin plant is still not operating. Do we still pay the private owners NOT TO GENERATE hydro electricity there? Good question? That’s going to be my next business. I will rent a Johnny-on-the-Spot for an office, not build a generating plant, not hire people and be paid by McGuinty or Hudak NOT TO GENERATE KWs. Whenever there were accidents or malfunctions with nuclear the nukie propaganda machine was always ready to go into high gear. The fully sanitized nukie position was passed over to their public relations people for distribution. Important stuff was left out, information was distorted, false claims would be made and then spin was applied. The TV and newspapers broadcast / printed all the PR stuff without so much as a question. Publishing falsehoods on matters of critical importance to the public seemed to be of little concern for the media. After all, they were well paid with your money to spin copy. And the media could get away with it sight unseen. They stuck together because of a common bond. Reveal the truth and the big advertisements get pulled. The Ont. Press Council and Advertising Standards Can. are industry fronts set up to make complaints disappear. The Letters to the Editor section in the Star seldom featured anti nuke comments although 70% of Ontarians oppose nuclear. It was clear to me that Honderich was throwing out a large quantity of anti nuke copy and substituting the comments of shills from the AEC letter writers club [ current and former employees ] who expressed to a man, how much they loved the CANDU. Loving the CANDU, that’s daft. The CANDU they wrote about and loved however had no bad faults. Not dangerous waste, no CO2, always contructed on time and budget, reliable, affordable, easy to maintain and repair and the families could swim at the beaches located in the intake channels at the nuke plant. Since they were all being paid by AEC what else would the writers say? The Star was being paid as well as were the editors and journalist to sing the nukie company song. Why not? A pay cheque is fine. But is there enough money in the world to justify mangling and hiding the truth, and breaking the readers’ trust as well as their pocketbooks? I have alway felt this was a dangerous development, the press taking the side of money exclusively. That people / businesses with lots of dough could get their story told unimpeded. While the other side of the story was unjustifably zapped, NO CHARGE. The Keystone campaign was put together so quickly and the misleading coverage blanketed North America instantaneously. I am determined to break the code that puts bias information into the hands of hundreds, if not thousands of shills at one time. All of a sudden people with something to gain [ as with Keystone ] are all talking the same talk. It is as if by magic this propaganda flies through the air to only certain ears. The advertising media certainly grasped the story line, as limited and as incorrect as it was. All of the oilies were briefed. Republicans and right wing politicians in Canada were instantly in the loop. Herr Harper, Joe Oliver, Peter Kent, Brad Wall, Gary Doer, Gord Campbell were in possession of the vital facts, cooked as they were. Editors and journalists were primed and the media bosses were at the ready to broadcast and publish TransNotCanada’s pipedream details in blanket form. In the real world and on the net the pros and cons of the Keystone were and are readily available for all to see. But the boosters including Herr Harper pulled a Chamberlain, don’t ruin a good political position with the facts. Said facts namely to steal Alberta’s sandy tar for peanuts, leaving all the toxic waste and CO2 for Preem Redford to clean up ,send the DilBit down an OIL pipeline, endangering 1700 miles aquifers and agricultural land, restart the idle upgraders and refineries in Texas and ship the finished oil to China. Not one of the promoters [ Harper, Oliver and Kent et al ] I saw or read mentioned any of the above. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT NOT ONE OF THESE HIGHLY PAID / KNOWLEDGEABLE MOVERS AND TAKERS SAID, ” hey wait a minute “? I have been able to peak under the tent flap a few times. EXXON sponsored erroneous / confusing copy as regards the Climate Crisis. The Company hired a couple of public relations people who operated out of a tiny office and inundated the media with phony press releases and bogus reports. Just like the Fraser, Howe and manning Institutes. Their cover was like so many other right wing charities set up to serve the interests of the oil cartel, it was called something like, “ We Love Mother Earth and Kiss the Ground Every Day “. ORG. Nobody could figure who was backing this charity. Then it was found that this pair were using the EXXON net server. The Company WAS TOO CHEAP TO SET UP A STAND ALONE FRONT TO PROTECT ITS’ IDENTITY. This scheme was not illegal but it was morally wrong. I mean EXXON makes huge profits, when is enough enough? I blame the wider media for spreading this contagion, the only reason for this is the almighty buck. So it is clear that there are public relations people with many contacts out there who are prepared to say anything for money including many noted journalists with reputations [ Ezra levant / Rex Murphy ]. Can it be that there are many such small public relations with different specialties, spinning for nuclear, oil or autos? Or is there just one big central command which handles all of the needs of the rich and powerful to insure their story get out without the other side of the story being told. When I find out who controls the propaganda central, I’ll post it. The Toyota overspeeding problem is another example of piling on by the media. Four men got killed in a rented Toyota that crashed. It was equipped with an after market floor mat that was improperly installed. The investigating officer stated just that. the floor mat was up under the accelerator. This accident made big headlines and then took on a life of its’ own. Tales of hundred of overspeeding Toyotas appeared. Ray ” the Hood ” LaHood, Transportation Secretary said without the slightest bit of evidence that Toyotas were killers. He refused to let his daughter drive one. There was one VOLUNTARY recall after another issued by Toyota. There were no obvious problems but like any top notch company they were not taking any chances. This coverage appeared mostly in the auto pages and the media drumbeat was relentless. The auto writers took the VOLUNTARY recalls as an admission of guilt. Every maker has recalls, most are ordered by the Government. GM and Ford sometimes refuse to respond to Gov. recalls, they back and fill trying desperately to prevent the public from finding out that they built shitboxes. So a voluntary recall and a Gov. recall are too different things but the media did not / does not present it that way. Right after the tragic deaths some bright apple in Washington or at GM or Ford or the UAW saw a golden opportunity to knock Toyota off its’ perch. I have every article published regarding this disgraceful American attempt to blacken the name of a GREAT CAR MANUFACTURER, TOYOTA. Whenever recalls were made the media DID NOT DIFERENTIATE BETWEEN VOLUNTARY AND GOVERNMENT. With every recall the headline read Toyota. GM could be recalling 300.000 cars, Ford could be recalling 280,000 and Toyota ten but poor old Toyota was the headliner. A lot of people do not read the details so Toyota was being hammered on purpose on account of some serious money being thrown into this effort to smear. Who would benefit most from seeing Toyota’s reputation destroyed? The US Government, part owner of GM? A bankrupt Ford or the UAW. It would be interesting to see how much each one OF THEM contributed to this DESTROY TOYOTA FUND? LaHood fined Toyota $ 16 million based on NO EVIDENCE OF ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEM. Hundreds of ambulance chasing lawyers started laws suits against Toyota on behalf it seems half of the Nation who had overspeeding problems. Some people even borrowed or rented a Toyota in which to stage an event. One guy went so far as to hired a film crew to park at the side of a freeway in California to record his wild ride. The media dutifully published or reported every word, SOMEONE was paying all these birds. Go back and read some of my posts on this Toyota frameup. Never once did I see or hear the media refer to the investigating officer’s comments. The floor mat was rolled up under the accelerator. I read that at the very beginning and paid not attention to all of the kerfuffe in between other than to be appalled at the lengths the Yanks will go to win. Even if their level playing field is jack up to 45 deg they are still not satisfied. After much investigation Toyota was completely cleared. There were NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. This exoneration was printed in the smallest print and placed in the most obsure parts of the paper if at all. I never saw anything on TV. Ray LaHood did not apologize for his libelous remarks nor did he give Toyota back its’ $ 16 million. A story not now covered in the media is that we are seeing is GM VOLTs catching fire. The original prototype caught fire and had to be rebuilt. Things are so bad that GM is offering loaners to the few people who have actually bought VOLTs being concerned about them. This will not be that costly for Government Motors because so few VOLTs have been sold. Ray LaHood’s Transportation Department is SOFT PEDALLING THE VOLT FIRES AND WHEELS FALLING OFF FORDS. OUR MR. RAY HAS NOT UTTERED A WORD OF APOLOGY to Toyota and not a word about the incendiary VOLTs or the WHEEL LESS FORDS. Fair play is apparently a courtesy no longer paid in the States. Most of the name auto writers were in on the Toyota smear so they obviously all got their cheques. The tar sands has WIDE media support while the downside and negatives are purposely hidden. Global warming is the reverse, all we get are the negatives. The Climate Crisis has been under constant attack by the media. Again all the same propaganda. The shills writing for the US National Post and the Toronto setting Sun particularly have no qualifications on the subject. But with regular press releases sent to them by the oil cartel it is like copying the phone book. Writing for the phone book or the Alberta Report is obviously where most of them got their training. I do research on every journoshill like Terrance Corcoron, Peter Foster, Rex Murphy, Margaret Wente, Lorne Gunter and Lorrie Goldstein to name a few. Day after day we are subjected to the same bullshit orchestrated and paid for by someone [ Big Oil ]? Goldstein doesn’t write like a broken record for nothing? Or does he? Any good writer of fiction would never write the same book 15 times over, nobody would publish it. Pierre Peladeau does however. Maybe Goldstein wrote just one column years ago and it is constantly in reruns. It is really funny. In the last few days the order must have come down from the oil cartel to declare the Kyoto and Global Warming debate has come to an end. The rest of the world is still engaged in the climate crisis discussions and CO2 reductions. But Canada comes across like the fools we are having Herr Haper as Oil PeeM. Two year ago I attended a graduation of 6th graders, 54 of them. Each did a video. 34 of them said Global Warming was their biggest concern. These old clapped out and financially challenged journalists don’t know what is afoot among the young. Terry, Pete, Rex, Marg, Lorne and Lorrie may think that the discussions about Global Warming are at an end. However they are the ones who have come to the end of the line. Newspapers are making like the dodos. Circulation is dropping as is advertising. The sale of TVs is in decline. People are cancelling programing. The US National Post and the setting Sun enterprises will not even exist 5 years from now. If you look at Keystone, the Toyota smear, the tar sands, Kyoto, CBC attack, Globel Warming, the old line media provides us with no hope or comfort. The position of the right / white / rich 20%, staus quoers always prevails. I am quite happy to see the media shrink to the point where it becomes the private publication of the 20%ers themselves. They can all live happily in the history to the end of their days. In the land of wishful thinking. All the while our sails will be catching the winds of change and our date with a bright and cleaner future.

Here are the structural problem in our electrical system. The nukies showed up at Mike Harris’ door with a sad tale [ 1995 ]. They were $ 20 billion in debt, had run old Ontario Hydro’s credit card up to the limit, spent every dime in the O H vault and sold off as much of the silverwear as they could . Harris saw some light at the end of the tunnel. He could make a few bucks from selling the system to cover his hidden debt. His friends could get chunks of the system and have a captive customer base [ us ] who would pay for KWs even if it hurt. Or our services would be cut off. The $ 20 billion would be loaded onto the ratepayers backs because the 5 purchasers would not accept any of the debt as part of the deals. Harris broke up O H into 5 chunks to add to the value. These chunks were designed to make the sales easier not to smooth operations. It is like selling 5 cars and giving one guy all the spares and bumper jacks. Anyone suffering a flat would have to deal with that guy. The possible chunking up problems were not considered because it was expected that the sale would be completed quickly. Here we are 12 years later and the system farts and fidgets along driving the ratepayers into the poor house. I was in business for 50 years. I can’t imagine there being a worse situation even if people were paid millions of dollars to try and screw things up. The deal that Harris put together was extremely business unfriendly. In the real world this turkey would not even get off the ground. The solution is for the new MPPs to put a hand on the steering wheel and regain control. 107 MPPs hold the power in this land. I say to them, for Christ sake use it. At least 55 must act, that is all we need.

Up to 2003 Harris / Eves were bent on handing our electrical system over to their friends in return for cash to cover their unpaid bets. Ontarians would have lost in two ways if this had come to pass. We would lose control of the system and we would not have seen any of the purchase price. So the fracturing of Ontario Hydro into 5 bits has created havoc. If it remained in 5 bits the havoc would have been even bigger and more expensive with time and it did. I say grab Hydro One, remove the management and create the new Ontario Hydro. Fold all of the various agencies OPA, Energy Board etc in. Leave OPG as a free standing entity to continue to operate the nukes until they are shut down completely. Gradually integrate hydro assets into the system with the view to having them provide the bulk of our KWs. With the large entrenched bureaucracy gone and nuclear power being scaled back we will get our 1/2 price KWs. Surplus juice will be sent west to the tar sands to cut CO2, tailing ponds and poisons that damage Alberta’s rivers.

When McGuinty took office he made two major mistakes. He accepted a house from the nukies and in return gave them a monopoly to run our electrical system. The nukies dismissed the old Ontario Hydro management and engineers, they were the ones who knew what the job was all about. Namely, generate KWs as cheap as possible and get them out to the ratepayers by the quickest means possible. That is all they did and Ontario became the economic engine of Canada. Premier Frost was very interested in nuclear. In his seventies he became convinced that in the future cars would run on uranium. Ottawa made him an offer he could not refuse, Frost should have refused it. Ontario never agreed to take responsibility for the toxic nuclear waste. That is Herr Harper’s $ 20 billion headache. An experimental nuclear generating plant had been built on the Ottawa River by the Feds. Then the first commerical nuke was built at Douglas Point by AEC / Ottawa / GE with cooperation from Ontario Hydro. It was a disaster and presented many technical / mechanical problems. AEC sold a pair of CANDUs to India. Indian engineers came to train at Douglas Point. It is clear that Ontario was being used by AEC / Ottawa as a guinea pig for foreign sales of its’ reactors. The bugs at Douglas were never fully solved. The plant a Pickering was only to be started once the CANDU system was perfected operationally. But AEC / Ottawa were anxious to get started in Pickering so the 2nd plant at Douglas was cancelled and Pickering started bugs and all. Two different engineering teams were involved at Ottawa, Douglas and Pickering and they disagreed on how to proceed. All this information is available on the net and in libraries but the nukies have taken every opportunity to bury or remove from view the real history of this failed technology with the able assistance of the ad media. The plant at Douglas was never bought by Ontario Hydro, thus it remains on the property of the Bruce Nuclear plant and is still owned by the defunct AEC. When it is decommissioned the cost should be borne by Harper but just watch. Ontarians never agreed to deal with the waste or plants but we will get shafted yet again. Every one of the CANDUs is a one off experiment. AEC never fully perfected the system. The plants all failed at 20 years and required expensive repairs thereafter. A lifespan of the 40 years was promised. The AEC nuke in NB is down now, the repairs are three years behind and one billion over budget. Now a heavy water leak. AEC built 2 nukes in Quebec, Gentillys One and Two. Number One never generated a single commercial KW and cost $ 1.5 billion. Number Two is badly in need of repairs but Quebec is writing it off in view of the NB fiasco. The nuclear engineers who populate our electrical system are dedicated to experimentation on our nickel, always have, always will be. Providing us with Green / clean / cheap KWs is the last thing on their minds. These are the people McGuinty has remain true to over these last 8 years. As I said, for the nukies, Dalt’s house was a great investment. The second mistake the Preem made was he decided to use our electrical system as a means of scoring political points, closing the coal plants, building nat. gas plants to be greener, introducing conservation programs and developing an initiative to encourage solar panels and wind turbines. All of this activity was been announced during elections without much thought as to costs and how everything would fit together. Quite frankly with Mike Harris’ 5 bits and McGuinty’s make-it-up-as-you-go-along approach we’ in a fine fix folks. We are headed for the highest KW prices in the world which will destroy the personal wealth of Ontarians and drive every remaining business and manufacturer out. You can bet your sweet bippy on this dismal outcome. THAT IS UNLESS YOU ACT. [ read my many posts on this subject ] [ when will the ad media, especially the Star start looking after the interests of Ontarian? ] [ maybe we all go down the drain together? You and I and Honderich hand in hand ] Then the once great Ontario, will be a vast no-man’s-land with a few people living in holes in the ground?

The agreement between Premier Leslie Frost, Ottawa and AEC to build a test nuclear plant at Douglas Point was fatally flawed from day one. It like starting an around the world journey in a leaky boat. Frost’s understanding was that Ottawa would foot most of the bill, it would mean cutting edge jobs for university grads as well as construction workers and Ontario would have a market for our uranium from Bancroft and Elliot Lake. The head of Ontario Hydro during negotiations would have none of it. I think his name was Grant, he said let them build a CANU and test it. Then and only then will O H put a dime into the project. Grant should have been listened to. However Frost was anxious to proceed so he canned Grant. As well Ontario was informed that the toxic nuclear waste, a small matter would be removed back to Chalk River within 180 days. When this Province, Ottawa, AEC and GE signed an agreement in 1960 Ontario DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBLILITY FOR THE NUCLEAR WASTE. AEC just left the waste onsite at the various plants in temporary storage and didn’t tell anyone. Only year later did the waste become an issue and of course Ontarians were tagged with the problem, $ 20 billion and climbing. I will go to Court to have the Feds remove the waste and pay for its’ disposal. I figure in overhauling Ontario’s electrical system there will be lots of lawsuits, why not one case on behalf of the rights of the people? Operators and hydraulic engineers managed old Ontario Hydro as a simple utility tasked with generating KWs and distributing them. After 60 years this became a fine tuned machine which powered Ontario’s economy. The staff knew all about water turbines and wires but nothing about nuclear. O H people were just observers as the nukies built the Douglas Point plant and tried to get the thing to run properly. O H never bought Douglas Point from AEC, partly because of its’ out of service time [ utilization factor 54% ] [ how many hydro plants only run 54% of the time? ] as the nukies tinkered. Pickering should never have been built under the circumstances but it was. Pickering was yet another experiment with many more bugs. The nukies kept changing their minds. The management of O H became more and more nuclear oriented, as a result the water people were pushed out and the hydraulic department reduced to a mere maintenance unit. O H was the leading authority on hydro electric power and exported technology and hardware around the world. It was all thrown out in the garbage in praise of this new force, nuclear. Thus the nukies were free to run one experiment after another. O H was at arms length from the legislature and the nukies could cook the books to their hearts content. This nuclear experimentation cost the taxpayers of Canada and Ontario billions of dollar, FOR WHAT? AEC is now out of business but it should have been gone long ago except the Harris and McGuinty ran interference for the nukies. You know the outcome. Ontario’s economy is in tatters, ruined actually. The nuclear scientists and engineers in the 1940 / 50 were not evil. They were trying to find peaceful uses for plentiful uranium. One was to boil water, create steam and turn turbines. Well we already did that and did it much cheaper. O H harnessed falling water to turn turbines like as at Niagara Falls. There was no fuel, no emissions and the water was only borrowed for a few minute. It was not heated or contaminated. Water would generate KWs all day long, till the cows came home. If ratepayer demand dropped a hydro plant could shut off any number of turbines and just let the the water go by. It was just like adjusting a reostat. Output was managed to suit demand. If there was demand from the US the plants would run ful tilt and Ontario made serious money. Why was nuclear forced down the throats of Ontarians especially when the price of power was going to increase? In fact it was an advanced levy on us seeing all the wonderful thing that would be coming our way. It was like a lay-away-plan, where you put a bit away until you own your purchase. Our day of reward never came, we paid and paid and paid and paid and the day is coming soon wherein we can pay no more. We’ll have nothing. Do you wait for that day, a day when you will lay your hands on your pitchfork or do you CHALLENGE YOUR MPP NOW?

The nuclear people who seized our electrical system were interested in the uses of uranium. They were treated as gods. Ottawa wanted nuclear to work, so badly that they threw nothing but money at it. The nukies did not have to develop a product, do testing and then bring it to the marketplace. Government money and enthusiasm provided them with a short cut. Keep working on the nuclear process and because we are so talented we will eventually solve all the problems. They never did. And somewhere along the line the nukies began to lie about their activities, nukies worldwide did the same thing. In Japan, France, Germany and Belgium. So the scientists / engineers at AEC never learned what a business budget was. If they needed more of our money they got it, after all they were gods doing good works. As well the nukies NEVER FROZE A SINGLE PLANT OR PROCESS LIKE I HAD TO DO IN MY BASKET MANUFACTURING BUSINESS. At some point, usually when the money is running out further research comes to an end. Come hell or high water we had to go with what we had. Free enterprise, real free enterprise without government subsidies is really tough. So the nukies for a long period of time had no money worries and they could keep on fiddling. THERE WAS NOBODY TO QUESTION THEIR BEHAVIOUR. Like spoiled brats they ran the string out to the end, the present ugly mess. AEC is gone but the nuclear industry in Canada remains with many supporters. They just refuse to admit the party is over. They are still paying big money to the newspapers to misinform the public, especially the Star. The nukies believe if they soften up the public they can still get McGuinty or Hudak to spend more billions on nuclear, either new plants or overpriced repairs to the old clapped out facilites like Pickering or Bruce. Their future is in your hands. Cut out the cancer now or wait till your wallet is empty and your grandchildren have no jobs.

One final note. Lorrie Goldstein is one of the many nuclear shills writing these days. Read his ridiculous nukie propaganda, it is right from the AEC handbook. I want to outlaw the practice of lying to readers as the papers do these days. There has to be a government agency [ like the CRTC ] which will punish people like Goldstein and newspapers like the Toronto setting Sun for printing pure bullshit. In the meantime I would like Lorrie to end his columns with a short note on who sent him a cheque that day and the amount. Thanks Lorrie.
